While there are no significant announcements on the new agents or the maps which might come about with the official launch. It is anticipated that the features from the closed-beta will resume in the official launch with additional upgrades and improvisations. Although, Riot Games did officially announce a new agent Reyna, and an official map just around the closure of their beta. Riot Games have pretty systematically handled the development of the game in the closed-beta version with the feedback from the community.

Apart from new upgrades and fixes, they planned the server downtime and informed the gamers well in-advance about it, which is unusual in FPS gaming spectrum.

VALORANT official launch

What we do know so far about the official VALORANT launch is that the ranked gaming is not available for the gamers just yet. In other words, your ranks from closed-beta has no significance in the actual game and the rank feature will be deployed at a later stage. Riot Games have made efforts to well-known issues some of those are:

Despite the fact that the game has just launched, Riot Games already offered a hefty amount to find bugs, which is worth appreciating.

Interesting takeaway from VALORANT closed-beta have been their ability to deal with cheaters, which we anticipate will play a big role in shifting the paradigm of gamers. The CS:GO community suffers substantially due to the lack of a better anti-cheat system and equally lack of attention from its developer; which in case of Riot Games, appears to be working differently. We will be soon reporting about our experience of the game at launch, how it differs from the closed-beta and what should be your approach towards it.

VALORANT FIRST LOOK!

Riot’s not-so-auspicious present for Hackers

Riot Games is not only taking care of the good set of gamers, they’re giving much attention to the darker side of the moon too. Valorant is now equipped with not one, but three separate ways to make the community clean of nuisance. They have identified, and developed anti-cheat systems, which is already in action.

  • In-engine wall-hack resistant ‘Fog of War’– To combat wallhacks, VALORANT employs a unique ‘fog of war’ system that omits player locations until just before line of sight contact.
  • Server-authoritative game architecture- All VALORANT games are server-authoritative, making it impossible for a player to cheat in game-defying ways, like speed hacks or teleportation hacks.
  • Riot Games’ proprietary Vanguard cheat detection – VALORANT uses the League of Legends anti-tamper system in addition to a new anti-cheat platform,Vanguard, a Riot Games owned and developed cheat detection tool that allows for consistently evolving detection methods and the ability to instantly ban cheaters. Any game with a cheater detected will be ended immediately and forgiven for all other players

Valorant Pro community

Just before the launch of the game, the competitive gaming community have their cards ready. Few of the mainstream esports organizations have already shown interested in having an official roster, and several others, one of them, TSM, has already announced their VALORANT professional roster.

Most of the European organizations have some way or the other teased the move to the new game, which will be an interesting affair over at the CS:GO community. We’ve earlier reported several times about how Valorant does makes CSGO community and its fanbase insecure by its responsiveness. However may the journey be in sight, the road ahead of the fresher is still bumpy.

The road ahead for Valorant appears to be uncomplicated, thanks to their interactive approach. What more can we expect from Riot Games for Valorant is official tournaments, global servers, a mobile-version – something we already know is in works, more maps, and a crystalline VANGUARD!

GameStop, Nike, Rolex Stores Looted in New York City Amid Protests

0

America is experiencing one of its worst public outrage, after a Minnesota Police Officer was accused of charges of murder involving the death of Geroge Floyd, a black man. The wide protest began in the country demanding the arrest and investigation of the Police Officer. Pres. Donald Trump assured the investigation will be done independently by the FBI and the accused will be put to a fair trial.

The pictures and videos circulating on social media paint a pretty disturbing picture of the on-going protest in America. In the middle of the protests, people have resorted to rioting in most parts of the country. From jewelries to foot wears, everything is up for stealing in the middle of the march protests.

Nearby, a GameStop store in Union Square, New York, appears to have become the victim of the mob, a video shows, people break-open the window panes and rush into the store, looting.

Rioters have grabbed stuffs worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from the retail stores including the ones from Nike, Louis Vuitton & other luxury stores. The vandalism is just not stopping near the Union Square in New York City. Urban Outfitters, Sephora and Timberland locations were also ransacked, according to Fox9.

Police said they arrested thousands of people over the weekend. Some were arrested outside of shops in Soho, Bedford and Bowery reports. Bloomingdale’s, Chanel, Rolex, and Diesel stores were looted.

When will Valorant go live?

After making its mark on the world of esports over the duration of almost two months, the VALORANT closed beta which started on April 7th, has come to an end on May 28th. During this short period, it reached several milestones and broke multiple records in terms of viewership on Twitch. VALORANT had a peak viewer count of a whopping 1.7 million viewers on Twitch at the very day of its closed beta release, breaking the all-time peak of CSGO in a matter of hours.

As days passed, the player count of Riot’s competitive shooter also kept on increasing. With more and more beta keys dropping from Twitch streams, more players were getting access to the closed beta of the game. Recently, Riot has revealed that VALORANT was seeing a daily average of about 3,000,000 players, which is certainly unprecedented in the closed beta phase of any game in history.

These numbers are set to increase further after the official release of the game. Riot had promised lots of improvements to the game on its release which has further escalated the hype revolving around VALORANT. The promised improvements range from performance improvements, ping improvements and fixes to the FPS drops which were experienced by the players in the beta.

If you’re wondering about the release date of VALORANT, Riot has scheduled it for the 2nd of June. Here’s a countdown timer for the much anticipated release of VALORANT:

However, through a tweet on June 1st, Riot has made it clear that the launch timings of VALORANT will differ based on your geographical location. For instance, if you’re living in Asia you’ll have access to VALORANT the earliest, but if you’re an American, it’ll take you the longest to boot.

Besides the previous improvements, Riot has also announced an upcoming new agent, a new map to be named ‘Ascent’, and new servers for the players to play in. The new agent is to be named ‘Reyna’ and her gameplay trailer has already been released by Riot through their social media handles.

India’s first CSGO pro calls it quits

Tejas “rite2ace” Sawant through a Twitlonger has announced that he has decided to quit CS:GO and might pursue a career in Valorant.

Tejas joined Global Esports in April following the disbanding of his Ex-team Entity gaming after they emerged victorious at the ESL India Premiership Winter Lan Finale by toppling BL4ZE Esports led by Agneya “Marzil” Koushik and his troops in the grand finale. Upon being recruited by Global Esports, he did play a plethora of community tournaments under the banner of same but the team didn’t play any matches on the national level and international as well.

But upon the launch of Riot’s first-person tactical shooter, Ace did put up some amazing statistics in his records while competing in the former’s closed beta.

This news does come as a surprise after the 26yo went on to be the first Indian player from the professional scene to call quits on CS:GO in a bid to switch his gaming interests. He really did live up to his passion while competing at Counter-Strike where he was a part of the Major playing team at ESL Cologne 2014, the only tournament which saw India be a part of a Valve Sponsored Event.

I have decided to leave competitive counter-strike for good. Playing almost 10+ years CS1.6 included, I have made alot of good memories, travelled around playing LAN events, made new friends and it was an amazing experience throughout. But past couple of months, I have lost all the motivation/will to play this game. If I want to compete in anything, I always give my best.

CSGO Panorama UI Custom Background Guide

In a recent update dated 05/27/2020, the developers added a feature to let “users change their main menu background scenery”. This feature included background from various maps – Anubis, Blacksite, Chlorine, Cobblestone, Nuke, Phoenix Facility and Vertigo. This update was welcomed by the community with open arms.

CS:GO - My Main Menu Background - YouTube

The Counter-Strike community has always been quick to modify or alter certain features of the game. Be it the player models, game text, mini-map, maps, gun skin, gun sounds and what not. The community has always been at the forefront of such maneuvers. And this update wasn’t spared either. The community was quick to customize the main menu background following the update.

How to customize main menu background:

Before altering the main menu background, it is essential to learn how to convert a media file to WebM (.webm) format. WebM is an audio-visual file format and your media file must be converted to this format prior to the alteration of the background. Several WebM convertors are available a click away on the internet. Now make 2 more (3 in total) copies of that .webm file.

  • Open Steam and go to the Library. Right click on CS:GO. Select Properties and click on the Local Files tab. Click on ‘Browse Local Files’ and then go to Counter-Strike Global Offensive > csgo > panorama > videos.
  • As a precautionary measure, take a backup of all the existing files in this folder.
  • For instance, I’m replacing the Cobblestone files with my custom media file. Begin with deleting the cbble, cbble540p and cbble720p.
  • Now paste those initially created WebM files in this folder and rename them – cbble, cbble540p and cbble720p respectively.
  • Open CS:GO and click on Settings. Go to the video settings tab and select Cobblestone in the ‘Main Menu Background Scenery’ section.
  • Tadaa! That’s it.

You can use various media files like a random community map, animations, your favourite team or player lifting the major trophy and so on.

The talented cosplayer decided to reveal the truth and convince people that appearances can be deceiving and they shouldn’t believe everything they see on the internet.

The angelic face, the makeup, and a dream-like body helped him hide his real self and go unnoticed by the fans for years. The majority of Rei’s followers were man and the sudden revelation of Rei being a young man with a mustache left many fans in disbelief and questioning themselves. With the revelation, Rei also detailed the tricks he used to successfully pretend to be a woman. Some examples of which are camera angles, photo editing applications, and wearing special outfits fitted with silicon pads to get that angelic look.

The revelation caused a big shock among the followers, but the overall reactions were surprisingly positive, ranging from disbelief to admiration, with most commenters praising Rei for his makeup and digital editing skills.

“Cannot believe anything on the Internet”, “The hot girl whom I’ve been following for a while is a boy? Unbelievable!” , “DAMN!!!” , “NOOOOOO!”, etc were some of the common reactions of fans on the post.

This isn’t the first time a cosplayer pretending to be a girl came out as a man, Takuma Tani, a 42-year-old Japanese man who has been cosplaying as a young schoolgirl for almost a decade also shocked fans when he revealed the truth of being a man.

Indian community comes together to pay tribute to late CSGO player

The gaming community uniting together for something is a rare yet beautiful sight, and the Indian CSGO community has set an example of what the community can accomplish if they come together. This event will make its mark in Counter-Strike history, as the story of the man who brought the community together even after his death.

The tragic news hit the Indian CSGO scene on the day of May 27th. Sahil “EcheloN-” Doultani, a highly skilled CS player, had passed away after fighting a chronic disease for two years. The saddening news spread through the community like wildfire through a series of posts across social media. The Indian CSGO community grieved at his untimely death and sent their condolences to his parents.

One of his friends detailed how humble the man was by sharing a short encounter between the two.

The Steam profile of the player who passed away was also filled with comments mourning on his loss. Gamers sent him their respects and wished for him to be in a better place.

While it’s impossible to bring a lost life back, the least that the community could do was to make sure that his death would be remembered for years to come. A member of the group ‘CSGO India Community’ went ahead and declared that he’d organize a tournament in the memory of “EcheloN-“.

The fact that Archit Singh had no previous acquaintance with Sahil Doultani didn’t stop him from taking up this task. Furthermore, the tournament will not have an entry fee or a prize pool, since the sole purpose of the tournament is to pay respects to the fellow player who passed away.

“While conveying my condolences to his family, I shared with them that the whole community will mourn and that they’re not alone in their time of sorrow,” Archit mentioned in his post. “And in his memory, I wanted to host a friendly tournament where we can come together and bid our friend a final goodbye, doing what he loved and what we do best.”

He also mentioned that the matches will be livestreamed by him on discord and anyone is welcome to join and watch. The tournament will have a “0 tolerance” policy against any form of toxicity.

The tournament will be hosted on 6th June and registrations can be done beforehand on here.

Valve teases new in-game stats coming to CSGO

We might soon witness a pristine update being inculcated by Valve in it’s famous FPS title Counter Strike : Global Offensive where you may be able to go through your statistics.

Amidst of some rumours fielding Source 2 and its launch, the community has been living through the hype for the same but their dreams were short-lived after Valve released an update which saw some changes being made in the main menu followed by some tweaks in the video settings along with the magnificent Warhammer 40k Sticker capsule been made available in the store for grabs.

Those 3 symbols in the left do depict something interesting which Valve might culminate into the game in the near future.

As reported earlier by win.gg , If we do some digging along with a bit of self-determination, the first symbol is a Chicken, where we might be expecting a series of missions to gain a trivial amount of XP like we came across during the Operation Shattered Web. The second one does resemble a “Stat counter” symbol as noticed in other genres where we might stand a chance to keep tabs on our performance figures in-game. The third symbol might astonish the fans from Riot’s League of Legends where they often use it to report bugs from the game. Along with reporting cheaters and griefers, the community may get a chance to report some server bugs as well.

Shroud says “brain power” is more important than “good hardware” for gaming

0

Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek is considered as one of the most mechanically gifted players in the world of FPS games. He claims that having good hardware does not count as a major factor when it comes to being really good at video games.

Players all around the world look towards good hardware in order to get good at FPS games but Shroud thinks otherwise. As per Shroud, it only helps up to a certain amount if you have a high refresh rate monitor, a better spec PC and a better keyboard & mouse combination. Players with good gaming sense are always going to outperform bad players even with the best of hardware.

In one of his recent videos, Shroud talked about the importance of better game knowledge and how it can help you do better against players with good hardware.

Good Hardware isn’t everything!

If you have shi**y hardware, your mechanics might be a little off but that’s not that big of a crutch you know most of these games is all brain power.

In 2019, Shroud teamed up with Linus tech tips to check if high refresh rate monitors can actually make you better at FPS games. Shroud realized how important having a good high refresh rate panel is for minimizing the input delay in FPS games.

Shroud believes that hardware usually does not hold a player back from reaching their full potential but, one has to practise really hard up till a point where the hardware does not limit your potential & gaming skills. Once you have given enough time towards getting better at the game, only then it makes sense to upgrade your hardware to get that extra edge in competitive games.
