Ownership
TalkEsport is published by TalkEsport Media & Broadcasting Private Limited, a company registered in India and founded on 11 December 2011. The website has operated since 2009.
The company is owned by Deepak Ojha, who holds 80% of its shares, and Saswat Ventures, which holds the remaining 20%. There is no parent company and no political affiliation.
Saswat Ventures is a shareholder. It has no role in editorial decisions and no involvement in what we cover or how we cover it. Where we report on a company or organisation in which our shareholders have an interest, we disclose that in the article.
How we are funded
Advertising. Most of our revenue comes from display advertising served on our pages. Advertisers buy space; they do not buy coverage, and they have no visibility of editorial plans.
Sponsorships and partnerships. We work with brands on sponsored articles, event coverage and campaigns. Every piece of sponsored content is labelled clearly at the top of the article, before the reader begins. Sponsored articles are written or reviewed by our editorial team to our own standards, and a sponsor’s involvement in one article gives them no influence over any other coverage — including coverage of the sponsor.
Affiliate links. Some articles contain links through which we may earn a commission if a reader makes a purchase. These are disclosed in the article. Products are chosen on merit; a commission does not buy a recommendation, and a negative review of a product we link to is entirely possible.
What we do not do
We do not accept payment to publish, alter or remove news articles. We do not accept payment for favourable coverage. We do not allow advertisers, sponsors or subjects of our reporting to review articles before publication, except where a subject has been offered a right of reply.
