BGMI 1.9 Update Release Date and Time

Battlegrounds Mobile India is a popular battle royale game and follows the same timeline of update release as PUBG Mobile.

As this game is quite similar to PUBGM, the updates in both of the modes are identical as well. The new season in BGMI is right around the corner and here is the speculative release date of BGMI 1.9 update.

The beta update of this BGMI 1.9 update is already under testing and several usual testers are approving it for the release. The new features coming with this update are yet to be revealed but the update is coming with the next few days.

As mentioned before, the update timeline for BGMI and PUBGM is almost similar and Tencent has already announced the date of PUBGM’s next update. It will go live from 18th March at 5:30 AM IST.

If we compare this with the pre-existing updates available within BGMI, it can easily be seen that the season is ending and a new update is due. Due to this reason, BGMI could get the 1.9 update on 18th March as well. However, the time for pushing this update could not be speculated.

The current season in BGMI will end on 16th March and consecutively, the royale pass and rank season will also end by March 18. This is the supportive evidence that Krafton will mostly push the next update in the upcoming week.

Krafton collaborates with Supari Studios for BGMI digital campaigns

Supari Studios, the subsidiary of the Mumbai-based agency Kulfi Collective, has partnered up with the creators of Battlegrounds Mobile India to develop innovative digital content campaigns for their flagship game in India.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is a popular battle royale game that has amassed millions of fans in a short period of time. This game has replaced PUBG Mobile in India to become the next big BR esports title. The game developers are expanding their digital presence by creating excellent campaigns and this deal is a part of it.

Supari Studios initially worked with Krafton to create two digital campaigns highlighting different topics. One of the creatives showcased the difference between public facade and the inner self and another one sheds light on how people are judged and they can nullify that judgement while playing the game.

Talking about the collaboration, Parikshit Vivekanand, the Creative Director at Supari Studios said the following:

“Through the two films, we aimed to show that there exists a gamer within everyone, and BGMI is the perfect destination to discover that calling. While the first film attempts to desensitise the stereotypes existing in the gaming community, the second one explores the duality in the lives of gamers when they unleash their true self in BGMI versus their behaviour in a formal setting.”

– Parikshit Vivekanand, the Creative Director at Supari Studios

Mitali Sharma, Vice President of Content Development at Supari Studios also had a few words to share on this collaboration:

“Gaming gives people an opportunity to be true to themselves. Moreover, it offers a sense of belonging by allowing them to bond with friends or family. Keeping this in mind, the films we developed for Krafton, aimed to present BGMI as a platform having no qualms about who the player is—anyone can sign up, start playing and genuinely be themselves.”

Mitali Sharma, Vice President of Content Development at Supari Studios

Advait Gupt, the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kulfi Collective said the following:

“We’re thrilled to have collaborated with Krafton for this campaign. The gaming ecosystem is growing exponentially in India, and BGMI and its awesome community of mobile gamers lie at the center of this growth. BGMI as a game is shaping culture as we know it, and through this campaign, we were keen to craft a distinct voice for the brand by celebrating the passion and uniqueness of its community. We’re just scratching the surface with the gaming universe and are excited to tell many more stories in this space in the coming months.”

ESL Pro League Season 15 Group A Aftermath

ESL Pro League Season 15 kicked off in Dusseldorf, Germany last week with Group A matches taking place first. The group consisted of heavyweights such as G2 and NiP and it was expected that they would make it through to the playoffs with ease, considering the other teams in the group were Entropiq, MOUZ, fnatic with 3 stand-ins and Australian team LFO.

Disaster struck for G2 as In game leader Aleksib tested positive for COVID-19 and had to sit out the first 3 games. But a team like G2 was expected to beat fnatic who were without Brollan and KRIMZ and also MOUZ who were making their full debut at EPL.

G2 could only beat LFO and lost to fnatic and MOUZ in the following games. Aleksib returned but he was still recovering and couldn’t power G2 to a win vs Entropiq and G2 were unable to make the playoffs.

They did win their final game but it didn’t mean anything in the Grand Scheme of things.

NiP on the other hand, still playing with phzy instead of dev1ce looked convincing as ever and beat everyone they faced, losing just 2 maps, one to LFO and one to MOUZ as they topped the group.

Entropiq, who had an underwhelming IEM Katowice 2022 came back with all guns blazing, losing only to NiP as they finished second behind them in the group with a 4-1 score.

Fnatic surprised everyone coming into the group on the back of the benching of smooya, followed by rumours of Brollan being acquired by NiP.

KRIMZ too caught the coronavirus and had to sit out from the Group stage as fnatic played with Banjo, Pepper and poizon as stand-ins.

They handed G2 an upset and beat MOUZ too, after beating LFO and came in third behind Entropiq to make it to the playoffs.

MOUZ, G2 and LookingForOrg are the teams that will be eliminated from ESL Pro League Season 15 as Group A concludes.

NiP topped the group and will make it to the quarter finals straight, while fnatic and Entropiq will qualify for the round of 16.

Group B of ESL Pro League S15 will start on Wednesday. The matches will continue till Sunday 20th March when the final Bo3s will be played. ESL Pro League S15 Group B consists of-

  • Team Vitality
  • FaZe Clan
  • Sprout
  • ENCE
  • FURIA
  • Outsiders (Virtus.pro)

Virtus.pro will be playing under the name outsiders as previously reported, following ESL’s announcement that Russian orgs with ties to the Russian Government will not be allowed to sport their sponsors and name at ESL events for the time being.

FIFA Ultimate Team packs are not gambling: Netherlands Court

0

FIFA players love to open Ultimate Team packs that provide them player cards, sometimes you get lucky and sometimes not. Finally, the highest Dutch court ruled that FUT packs are no longer gambling in the Netherlands.

Previously in 2020, the Court of The Hague ruled that opening FUT packs come under gambling and also ordered Electronic Arts to remove those packs from FIFA. Moreover, the Hague court added that €500,000 will be added as a fine for every week they didn’t comply.

Now finally the highest court of the Netherlands has ruled that buying and opening FIFA Ultimate Team packs don’t come as an isolated game and those packs are a part of a game of skill.

As EA explains, the packs in FUT mode perform a multipurpose function. They simulate the uncertainty that also occurs in the real football world when putting together a team. The vast majority of packs are obtained by and used for game participation. The tradability of the packs on the black market is relative. The black market mainly focuses on trading complete accounts rather than individual packs or their contents.

Dutch Administrative Jurisdiction Division

Therefore, EA has received the green light to start selling FIFA Ultimate Team packs in the Netherlands. In addition, EA doesn’t have to pay the fine as per the court rule.

This decision confirms our belief that no aspect of FIFA or FIFA Ultimate Team can be considered gambling under Dutch law. At Electronic Arts our approach to game design puts choice, fun, fairness, and value first. Our priority has always been to make sure that our players in the Netherlands and across the world have a positive experience.
