Summit1g calls Valorant a “piece of s***t video game on Twitch”

0

Jaryd ‘Summit1g’ Lazar is a veteran Twitch streamer who has been streaming professionally on the platform for almost a decade. Summit1g is known to give his honest opinion on whatever game he lays hands-on, and he isn’t afraid to express his dissatisfaction towards a game if the game turns out to be subpar.

Ever since Riot Games’ new title VALORANT made its closed beta debut, the game has managed to gain wholehearted support from the fans of the franchise. The competitive shooter has broken several records on Twitch, amassing a total of 1.7 million peak concurrent viewers, reaching the world records set by Fortnite and League of Legends.

Summit1g has regularly been streaming VALORANT from the very beginning. He had mentioned earlier about how the game is unique and how the abilities In it would “make or break” the game. While the streamer did seem to enjoy playing VALORANT for a while, recently he went all-out on criticising Riot’s new title.

During his stream on April 24, he was playing Sea of Thieves when he spoke up against VALORANT’s Twitch section. According to him some streamers were attracting viewers with misleading titles for their streams, referring to all the “24/7 drops” or streams labeled as drop enabled even after Riot had announced earlier that all streams would be dropping VALORANT beta keys now. Throughout the 1-minute clip which has gone viral with over 68k views on Twitch, summit is seen criticising the VALORANT streamers who resort to these sort of techniques to increase their viewership.

“It’s the absolute fakest section on Twitch right now!”, summit said angrily. “Am I wrong? Look at that number. Is that real? Not even f***ing close.”

“You know what that does, man? It helps me burn out on Valorant just a little bit quicker. You know what I’m saying? I don’t wanna be in that category, just wanna kinda step out of it.”

He was clearly infuriated at the Twitch streamers as he asked his chat, “Just stare at this section. How many 24/7 drops can you see, just scrolling down this section at a mediocre speed, how many f***ing 24/7s are on this category? It’s disgusting. It’s f***ing gross.”

Another Twitch clip captures the rest of his rant on these so-called ‘streamers’.

He insulted these sorts of streamers even further, “You should all be fking ashamed. You’re not Twitch streamers. You’re not even YouTubers because you’re not even putting in the work they put in. There’s no editing, you f*ing throw up your VOD as soon as you go offline. Like I’m playing my outro video, a couple of double clicks and you leave. What a joke.”

Towards the end of the clip, he is seen saying, “Valorant looks like a piece of s**t video game right now on Twitch. This doesn’t look like the number one game on Twitch. ‘kay? This is the biggest joke on Twitch.”

BMW shifts marketing budget to esports

0

German car manufacturer BMW, has decided to shift to esports by forming partnerships with 5 gaming orgs such as Cloud9 (US), FunPlus Phoneix (China), Fnatic (UK), G2 Esports (Germany) and SK Telecom (South Korea) in order to increase their reach & involvement and to catch more eyes in titles likes DOTA 2, Fortnite, FIFA, and League of Legends.

These gaming organisations have around 8.1 million follow-ups and a massive reach across social media on platforms like Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, and so on which is around 11 times more than that of BMW. The teams have been allotted a promotional slogan as a hashtag i.e. “Together in Rivalry” on their streaming platforms and social networks.

Through its diverse content on streaming platforms and its following on social media platforms, G2 alone increased the audience involvement by 30 percent. In December, Joseph Tsai, co-founder of Alibaba made an investment of $10 million on G2 to become a minority shareholder and as per Forbes G2’s net worth is around $165 million which is 57% more than its net worth last year.

BMW had initiated last year’s negotiations with teams and decided to sign individual agreements. G2’s Rodriguez said that he was unaware about any characteristics of other company and that his team had arrangements for three years. However, the carmaker did not disclose the terms, but had an initial agreement of $400 million with Cloud9 in 2019. As per Forbes, BMW will pay a low seven digit amount per year to every team to become the most expensive sports partners.

In addition to content sharing and involvement in social media platforms, BMW will also be integrated with immobilization on every team’s uniform that will provide the teams from respective orgs with personalized team-branded vehicles to go to events. BMW’s Ponvika clarified that “We know we’re going to have a reason to enjoy BMW when the time comes and we’re going to be their first brand!”

Bigetron Esports calls Indian teams “stream sniping dogs” during PMPL Scrims Season 3

0

So, it was Day 2 of PMPL Scrims Season 3 and teams from Group A were going up against teams of Group C. The third game of the day was being played on Miramar map. Team Bigetron RA decided to move into the zone when there were around 40 players still alive.

Team Bigetron decided to stay in the open field with their vehicles around them, as they were waiting for the formation of the next zone. So first of all, they got pushed on by the entire squad of Marcos Gaming, and when this was going on Luxxy started smoking around himself while one of his teammates said “stream sniping anjing” which refers to “stream sniping dogs” and this could be clearly heard in his Livestream that he was broadcasting on his Facebook page.

You can go this timestamp 1:49:30 and see what Team Bigetron had to say when they first got pushed by Marcos Gaming and when they got wiped out by a grenade from FNCxFranky.

Team Bigetron was somehow able to wipe out the squad of Marcos Gaming but players from Team Tamilas were able to knock down BTRXMicroboy and after that BTRXLuxxy got knocked out by FNCxFranky whereas BTRXZuxxy got knocked out by FNCxOwais. So after getting 2 successful knocks, team Fnatic decided to push on team BTR and courtesy of a very good grenade from FNCxFranky, the whole team of BTR got wiped out.

After getting wiped out, Luxxy’s teammates could be heard saying “stream sniping”, and the word “India/Indian players” was mentioned as well. The stream had a delay of about 10-15 minutes and it seems like what players from team Bigetron had to say must have been said in the heat of moment.

We are damn sure that it was a proud moment for all the PUBG Mobile fans from all across India to see 2 of their teams (Team Fnatic & TSM Entity) in the top 3 positions followed by team Orange Rock which secured 5th position finish. Still, there are 2 more weeks to go in PMPL Scrims Season 3; it will be really exciting to see if an Indian team could secure a 1st position finish in the weekly standings.

Esports World Academy is suing TSM-Entity’s Manager Sid Joshi over Facebook post

0

The world of law suits & court rooms have liberated since the increasing usage of social media and this case is one of those. No more now people need valid proofs to file a criminal and civil disobedience proceedings, you can be sued just for your Facebook posts.

Esports World Academy, as the name suggests is among the few of the companies which chose a way to marketing orientation by contacting community influencers across the world. As their website suggests, they’re partnered with Gen.G, OG, Nasr Esports & more of the schools and colleges of London.

EWA partners page shows VISA, OG, Ubisoft & HSBC. The page no longer exists.

Sid Joshi, the manager of India’s most successful esports squad today, TSM-Entity, made a Facebook post which warned people to have their own due diligence before making any commitments to EWA. This was indeed in reference to several tweets which invalidated partnerships of EWA with that the names mentioned on their ‘Partners’ section of the website.

However, things didn’t go down well the legal team of EWA, soon they caught hold of Sid Joshi’s Facebook post and asked him to offer ‘unconditional apology’ alongside suing him for defaming the company without a concrete evidence.

The message, letter of warning published on the ‘Press’ section [now deleted] of the EWA website, claims to validate their partnership with OG, using a screenshot where things don’t seem to have happened as they’re portrayed.

EWA also sent a copy of letter to Sid Joshi, which is available here.

Call of Duty: Warzone Is Making Suspected Cheaters Play Together

0

Infinity Ward is making an attempt to curb the major problem faced by gamers worldwide. It is matching suspected cheaters against each other. Which means the profiles who’re reported to be suspected of cheating, faces one another.

Not to forget that the feature was first introduced by Valve for their famous FPS, Counter Strike in the year 2017. The Trust Factor does exactly the same. It matches you with players with similar trust factors, red, orange or green, in ascending order.

Call of Duty: WarZone too is shadowed by hackers in game which ruins the gaming experience of other players. Until today, Infinity Ward have already banned more than 70,000 cheaters. Millions of players across other games including Apex Legends, PUBG & CSGO get banned everyday and the numbers are ever growing.

The new FPS game VALORANT, by Riot Games is in its beta stage and have already encountered hackers, and fortunately banned them too.

Valorant streamers are ‘Messing’ with statistics on Twitch

0

If you’re among the few who still haven’t been handed over a key, you probably know what’s been happening at Twitch lately. The streamers who’re apparently live on Valorant are breaking Twitch’s statistics alongside terms of service.

Besides “!givekey” nothing much happens on that isolated Twitch chats, whether it is around sunset or during midnight hours, everything is same. The famous streamers have made their channels live 24*7, breaking all records of their viewership. All this while Twitch & Riot Games are starring at it.

One of the names appearing on the top list of Valorant streamers is ‘An0maly,’ who’s streaming the game 24 hours a day with the caption [24/7 STREAM DROPS ENABLED].

Screengrab from Anomaly’s Twitch.

The suggestions you could get from the channel title is even when he’s not around, you’re still eligible for drops. Isn’t this a misrepresented statistics? Twitch shouldn’t be allowing the stretch of this margin for error, but they haven’t addressed it either.

Thousands of people are selling the closed-beta keys except, Riot Games have issued a serious warning of having to lose your account if you’re founding trading them.

Kotaku’s report on how gamers are gaming the Valorant key drops system raises some valid points, whereas, it also projects how the ‘record breaking’ numbers are just skewed. Twitch’s feature of rerun is also being misused by most of the streamers as they trick gamers into watching it with their baited titles.

Either way, the presentation of numbers on Twitch are well below in reality and there’s practically nothing either Twitch or Riot Games can possibly due apart from waiting for the Closed Beta to end.

Twitch scammer fakes Stewie2k retirement

From in-game skin thefts to elaborate fake gambling sites made solely for the purpose of phishing, scammers seem to be upgrading every day as they keep finding new ways to rob people of their money. The scamming problem has been prevalent in online gaming ever since in-game cosmetics have started to exist. While gaming platforms like Steam actively try to keep scammers off their service, a lot of them still go unchecked. There are countless posts springing up each day on the Steam forums of people complaining about their in-game items or skins being lost to scammers.

The scams aren’t limited to Steam either, streaming platforms like Twitch also see hundreds of scammers trying to scam unsuspecting viewers on a daily basis. Games like CSGO, Dota 2 or League of Legends are especially targeted by these fraudsters on Twitch due to their huge popularity among the plethora of multiplayer titles.

Jake “Stewie2k” Yip – a professional CSGO player – recently tweeted out his frustration when he encountered one such scammer who not only impersonated him, but even faked his retirement from the professional scene.

“It’s getting pretty ridiculous @TwitchSupport”, he tweeted after attaching a picture of his fake retirement on the scammer’s channel. He wanted to get the impersonator banned, as he humorously said, “Give me power for the ban hammer. I’ll handle it” followed by an angry pouting face.

The attached pic included a post from the fraudster which said, “Sadly I have to bring you some sad news, in the next week I will be quitting CS:GO and live-streaming. I have had some new opportunities come up in life which will not allow me to carry on with this path in life anymore. To give back to the community, I will be giving away all my CS:GO skins… You can enter this giveaway by competing a roll to win your prize!” The post was attached with a link to the giveaway which, needless to say, is a phishing link.

How does the scam work?

The scam relies on viewers clicking the fake giveaway link attached with the post. The unsuspecting victim would then be asked to fill in his account credentials to participate in the giveaway (or claim the prize). The credentials are then sent to the scammer instead and the password is quickly changed by a bot, or in some cases an API is generated on steam to disrupt any future trades made by the user.

These sorts of scam aren’t new on Twitch, the Dota 2 section also witnesses fake streamers of professionals regularly. While Twitch is usually swift to hand out bans to these impersonators, they’re only a few clicks away from opening another account on the live-streaming platform.

CSGO: FaZe take revenge against G2 in ESL One: Rio

The ESL One Road to Rio has been quite a rollercoaster ride and we have seen a lot of upsets throughout the tournament till now, we had the next game of the evening that was Faze vs G2. Both the teams did not quite perform well in the ESL Pro League season 11. Although the last time both the teams faced each other we saw G2 taking the game with a closely contested matchup. We saw the clash of the brothers Nemanja ‘huNter-‘ Kovač and Nikola ‘NiKo’  Kovač and it was quite interesting to see how both of them gave their best for their team to win the game. The series ended with Faze winning the series 2-0 (22:20 on mirage and 19:15 on dust2).

The first map of the game was Mirage that was Faze clan’s pick and they started with a pretty impressive pistol round with Helvijs ‘broky’ Saukants picking up three quick kills from his glock. The buy round from G2 saw ‘KennyS’ picking some amazing kills from his favorite weapon AWP and securing the round for his team.

However, on the other side ‘Niko’ could not let his brother just win the game and he stepped up and got some quick kills for his team and took the scoreline to 11-4 at the end of the half. The second half started with G2 trying to go for the B site but Marcelo ‘coldzera’ David denying them with his USP and taking away the round from them and making it 12-4.

After that it was a different story altogether as we saw ‘huNter-‘ just going crazy with his AK and we saw him picking some insane kills and lead his team to 15-15 and taking the match in overtime. The overtime saw rounds go back and forth and it was 18-18 and the map went into the 2nd overtime where we saw ‘KennyS’ taking an incredible ace and scoreline going to 20-21 but ‘coldzera’ proved to be efficient and helped Faze finally close out the map 22-20.

The second map was Dust2 and it started with G2 taking the round with a very well executed A site play and securing the round. The buy round saw some great kills coming from ‘coldzera’ and opening the account for his team. From there on we saw some very competitive rounds from both the teams and the first half ended with 8-7 in favor of G2.

The second half started with Faze on the T side of the map and ‘olofmeister’ and ‘broky’ picking up 2 kills each to equal the scoreline to 8-8. We saw Kenny ‘kennyS’ Schrub clutching a 1v2 with just a scout and giving around to his team on an eco round. It was a very closely contested game where we saw some amazing plays coming from both the sides and finally Håvard ‘rain’ Nygaard clutching a 1v2 on the last round of the map and taking the game into overtime once again.

This overtime we saw Faze play very calm and composed and winning every single round and closing the map 19-15 as well as the series 2-0.

This matchup was a very interesting one where we saw the battle of two brothers in which ‘Niko’ with his team coming out on top and taking revenge from G2 for their ESL Pro league defeat. We will now see Faze next in action against Moviestars on Tuesday and G2 will face Copenhagen Flames the next day after that.
