Simple Radar recreated by a community member is challenging Valve

0

Simple Radar, as the name defines itself is a tool which claims to be more accurate and practically effective during game-play as they have tweaked the original radar with general desceny so as to make the radar appear better than the default one.

As the creator of the tool says, Simple Radar comes up with power-packed features which are basic tweaks as he claims to be. According to the website: “We are using titanium white for outlines and mixture of blue and green for the rest so you’ll have maximum contrast for red which is color of the enemy, bomb and questionmark sign.”

Simple Radar

The color contrast isn’t the only reason to use Simple Radar, instead, they have managed to eliminate certain unfixed in-game bugs which create problems in fetching and reflecting datas on radar. As they say, this tool is the solebest available in the market. Also considering the fact that there are no such competitors to such application as of yet. Simple Radar is currently available for three of the most popular maps of the game, Dust2, Inferno and Mirage; Other 12 maps are under consturction and will be available at a later date after the completion. There’s also a donate tab available if you would like to support this open source free project and help it develop even further.

We just hope that this doesn’t come under Valve scanner of malcious codes or illegal modifications to gamefiles, otherwise, all of the hardwork would be worthless. You can connect with the owner of the project at: http://www.twitch.tv/michaelaverage.

Valve made over $1.2mn in January from cheaters only

1

From a report published by the unofficial Steam’s communicating website SteamDB. Valve made over $1mn (at least) in January from cheaters solely.

Graph showing emerging bans

SteamDB, an independent investigator of Steam, recently graphed down the number of accounts which were handed VAC last month. From which it is comfortably witnessing and convincing that more than $151,000 accounts were banned in the First month of the new years and if we do the math gently. If an account was sold for an average of $8 or more considering discounts and bundles, Steam made over $1.2 millions just by making all of those banned accounts obsolete.

Accounting to the increased in number of hackers in couple of months. Valve has not been stringent in terms of eliminating hackers from the game by making VAC more secure and rolling updates to it. The amount of money made by just banning these accounts and not leaving them with any worth are far stronger than they appear, To be noted effectively, the game being referred to is mainly Counter Strike: Global Offensive. So, in terms of different games and accounts being banned by VAC as a whole. All those money invested in it or by making their inventory of no use makes Valve richer with each ban.

Following up the close semi-finals against Chiefs, TheMongolz closed the finals for the qualifier out in a very convincing fashion against LA Renegades by 2-0.

The tournament favourites Renegades who as also rank 19th globally in HLTV rankings, were utterly manhandled by the brute force of TheMongolz, both in the playoffs and the finals. After taking the Renegades for a spin on Cobblestone by 16-9, the war hungry Mongolians showed rock solid characteristics on CT-side Inferno, sparing Renegades only 2 rounds in the first half.

We also saw another heartbreaking game bug in which Renegades’ C4 got stuck in an irretrievable spot, when they were already down 10-1. After picking up the pistol round TheMongolz closed out the match at 16-2, winning the Asia Minor and sending the Australian dream packing home.

Eventhough Indians and UAE teams had multiple slots to work on with, they were not able to make their presence any stronger. With Scrochers, MxB and Team Brutality not able to make their journey longer. UAE teams Risky and Team jpb also had tough time fighting.

The Mongolz now has a slot to MLG Columbus offline qualifier and also a direct slot to at ESL Katowice later this year.

Fanobet banned

Shortly after rumored frauds circulated by the betting website were getting exposure. The betting website now is no longer operational in the US. People visiting the website or trying to register on the same are now getting error message on the webpage which reads:

“Due to the law of the US (UIEGA). We are not allowed to accept users coming from this location.

Along with the webscreen message, people have also tried to interact and shoot their questions to the support team of Fanobet, which also confirmed the alleged alteration. And were strong on the change, owning the fact that this change is not directed from their end, but the Government of the US.

Since the very beginning of the never ending debate among the community, the question always has been how long will these betting and gambling websites will go unseen? This is the most feasible medium of storing the black and unaccounted money virtually without being scrutinized by the authorities. US has begun eliminating such activities and it is not a long way when India would also ban these betting websites which also acts as a black money virtual currency generation tool.

Indian esports

Who are the founders and how credible are they?

In an advent to revolutionize the slow and faded Indian eSports, Yash Pariani and Kirsh Galani, took it on themselves to present the nation with the Indian Gaming League. A lot of controversy usually follows up right after any such gaming tournament or league, mainly due to the failure of execution or bad event planning, but this event might be the much needed turnaround for Indian eSports, as Krish Galani, who is a co-founder, has successfully established America’s first all females pro league for Call of Duty. So the expectations and stakes are high from this one.

What is it?

It is an e-Sports league which will follow the same format as Indian Premier League. The players will be funded and equipped by their buyers with a salary of Rs 15,000 each. The league will pursue online and offline play, as the hardware and consoles will be provided by the co-founders.

What games will it cover?

It will cover Counter Strike and DOTA 2 online, and FIFA offline. There will be weekly offline events at Hoppipola (Khar and Powai outlets) for the online league. FIFA will see monthly events at the Intercontinental Hotel, Marine Drive.

Who are the buyers?

The founders have denied any information about the potential buyers, however they have revealed that a few celebrities have shown their support to the gaming community.

The buyers names will still not be revealed until the first month of the league finishes. The IGL will see backing from brands like Sony, PayTM and RedBull which has the founders complying that they will be able to provide significant financial returns to the gamers.

What do the co-founders forsee?

While providing financial support to the gamers, the struggle will seem quite worth it. The founders believe that beyond financial gains, the elite level gamers in India will want to be recognized credible when entering more professional leagues worldwide. The variety of the games included will be widened soon, so as to provide a better platform for maximum gamers out there.

While there are mainly most of the companies struggling to develop a surviving ecosystem, events like this would surely be creating a huge impact in the current market size. Participating brands such as Sony and PayTM will also be gaining much of traction from the niche competitive gaming market potential. We will be able to update you more on this as we hear directly from the organizers.
