FaZe cut it close with ENCE

Finn ‘karrigan’ Anderson with a stellar performance as FaZe secured a close victory over ENCE to make it 2-0 on the opening day of PGL Stockholm Major.

FaZe were off to a slow start with dycha and Spinx looked sharp, shutting down their attempts to get going on Dust 2. It wasn’t until Havard ‘rain’ Nygard’s 1v4 clutch that changed the entire look of the FaZe’s offense. With karrigan and rain getting off to a slow start, ENCE were able to capitalize and pick up a few rounds.

rain’s clutch helped FaZe find their footing, with Helvijs ‘broky’ Sauskants surprisingly as the underperformer. The Latvian sniper had a round T-side but was able to contribute in a supportive role. Despite everyone performing at an impressive level, karrigan managed to steal the show, with lurks that perfectly highlighted his years of experience. The first half ended with FaZe edging out ENCE with a single-round lead, 8-7 favoring FaZe.

The second brought it even closer, with ENCE securing an anti-eco which helped them pick up 5 rounds a row that left FaZe trailing with 5 round deficit, and this is where karrigan’s heroics secured the most important rounds for FaZe, impressive when supporting, steller when anchoring and sublime when pushing. Every move FaZe made was a well calculated one, that could have had consequences if it failed.

Needless to say, the Danish IGL, ended the map with 28 kills and 1.55 IR, making him the highest-rated player on the server. 2 wins out of 2 games bring them as close to the final stage as they can get on an opening day.

mousesports crush Sharks, Astralis to face Entropiq in Lower Bracket

Mousesports looked phenomenal as the new-look roster featuring Christopher ‘dexter’ Nong stomped Sharks in their opener at the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 Challengers Stage.

The day has finally arrived and you just can’t think of the upsets and the potential, teams have lived up to here at the Challengers Stage of the PGL CS:GO Major. After a year of trial and tribulation, the community has been blessed with a Counter Strike Major, all thanks to the Swedish organizers PGL for their seamless efforts to give us a major after a period of 2 years.

Starting against Sharks, the duo of David ‘frozen’ Čerňanský and Robin ‘ropz’ Kool are the only players to have retained their spot here at Mousesports which saw Finn “karrigan” Anderson join FaZe and the European Squad part ways with Özgür “woxic” Eker and Chris “chrisJ” de Jong.

Match Details :

Mousesports Vs Sharks
Location: Stockholm
Match Type: Played on LAN
Tournament Type: S-Tier (Valve Major Championship)

Map Veto :

1. Sharks removed Nuke

2. Sharks removed Overpass

3. MOUZ removed Dust2

4. MOUZ removed Mirage

5. MOUZ removed Vertigo

6. Sharks removed Ancient

7. Inferno was left over

The Best of One decider saw Sharks open on the Attackers and run away with a swift 3-0 lead before frozen’s 4-kill defense on the A-site frozen added to the account for mousesports. It indeed set up the pace for the mixed-European roster as they were yet again able to convert a 3-kill rampage from dexter, the captain himself, into a successful defuse. The camp at Sharks looked completely destitute and listless as they were locked out of the bomb-sites in successions.

Coming from the break, it was indeed a mere surprise as Mousesports sent Jhonatan “jnt” Silva and company packing conceding just 1 round to the latter on their attack. Mousesports would further face Heroic at 23:30 PM IST while Sharks would meet Tyloo in the lower rounds.

Astralis face Entropiq in the Lower matches after their debacle against Danish counterparts Copenhagen Flames in their opener which forced Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander and his men back to the drawing board, a wake-up call to evaluate their options going forward, head to head against Entropiq.

Heroic Survive Tyloo Scare on Opening Day of PGL Major, Go 1-0 Up

Heroic join the ranks of FaZe, CPH, VP, Movistar Riders, and BIG to go 1-0 up in the Challengers Stage on Day 1 of PGL Major Stockholm. They were the heavy favorites coming into the game but were given more than a run for their money by Asian powerhouse Tyloo. Heroic have had their share of problems outside the server, but that mess is sorted and well out of their way now as they aim for a deep run at the Major.

MAP VETO

1. TYLOO removed Nuke

2. TYLOO removed Overpass

3. Heroic removed Mirage

4. Heroic removed Dust2

5. Heroic removed Ancient

6. TYLOO removed Vertigo

7. Inferno was leftover

A standard veto saw Inferno being played out for the third time today after paiN lost to VP and Mouz beat Sharks.

Tyloo started on the T side and to say they were unlucky would be an understatement. The Chinese managed 7 rounds on the T side, but that number would’ve been way higher if they had not lost 3 crucial clutches. Heroic held their nerve at the start but did drop 4 rounds in a row at the end to give Tyloo a fighting chance at 8-7.

On the CT side, Tyloo managed to take the lead for the first time – winning the pistol and the subsequent rounds to go up 10-8. But Heroic took the reins from then on and didnt let go, only allowing an odd round here and there as they took the Asians to the cleaners. Martin ‘stavn’ Lund stood out with 25 frags to his name as Heroic comfortably closed the map 16-11. The scoreline could’ve been much closer had Tyloo not lost 7 of the 8 clutch situations they were put in.

As expected, Heroic go 1-0 up and will play Mouseports who are also 1-0. Tyloo go down 0-1 and will play Brazilian team Sharks later today.

Movistar Riders edge past Renegades at PGL CSGO Major

With two of the least experienced teams from the PGL Stockholm Major clashing, expectations were given they were the only team from their respective region, with Movistar being the first Spanish team to make it to the major and Renegades from making it out of the Oceanian qualifiers.

Both teams decided on Nuke as the way to go for their start at the Major with Movistar Riders delivering off the back of their recent form to post some early rounds despite losing the second round of their T-side to Alistair ‘aliStair’ Johnston’s heroics with just a deagle.

The Spanish side never took their foot off the gas as Alejando ‘alex’ Masanet led a well-poslished side that is set to ask a few questions of the top contenders at the major. Their grip on the match was solid on the T side, where they posted 9 rounds, which is a solid buffer heading into the CT side.

The second half of the game was a much closer affair, Renedages cutting it close on several occasions. Movistar’s lead on the T side let them look away from a few mistakes that they made on their CT side, which ended up giving the Aussies a real shot at making a comeback.

Alejandro ‘mopoz’ Fernández-Quejo was a star for the Spanish side and the highest rated player on the server. Dropping a whopping 32 frags with 101.4 ADR across the 29 rounds played. Overall, a start convincing enough for their fans who can now believe that they are set for a deeper run at the Major.

ENCE Shut GODSENT Down to go 1-0 Up in Challengers Stage Round 1 at PGL Stockholm

ENCE join the leagues of FaZe Clan and Copenhagen Flames at 1-0 in the Challengers Stage after defeating GODSENT in their first game. Coming into the RMR with 0 points, ENCE finished as runners up and continued their tear into the Major as they defeated the Brazilians 16-10. Captain Marco ‘Snappi’ Pfeiffer led from the front with 25 kills to his name and a K/D of 2.08.

MAP VETO

1. GODSENT removed Mirage

2. GODSENT removed Dust2

3. ENCE removed Inferno

4. ENCE removed Vertigo

5. ENCE removed Ancient

6. GODSENT removed Overpass

7. Nuke was left over

The veto was interesting to say the least, as despite having a higher percentage of winning, ENCE were the favored ones purely based on the opponents they played.

ENCE did have a shaky start, losing the force buy after the pistol round and subsequent rounds. It wasn’t until the score was 4-1 that ENCE came back with rounds of their own.

After that ENCE did very well to shut the Brazilians down, with their IGL ‘Snappi’ coming in to save their backs every round, almost making it a given that he will get a 2K on the flank. ENCE ended the half at 9-6 as they switched to the T side.

The start was shaky again after the pistol loss but ENCE recovered quickly, not letting up at all as they won 6 straight rounds before GODSENT found another, but it was too late as ENCE did their due diligence, ending the map 16-10.

Probably the 2nd favourites in the Pick em’s, ENCE start off on the right foot going 1-0 up while GODSENT are down 0-1.

Astralis Humbled by Copenhagen Flames on Day 1 of PGL CSGO Major

The first day of the PGL Stockholm Major is underway and what better way to start it than a Danish Derby between Astralis and Copenhagen Flames (CPH). CPH came into the game as underdogs but that tag didn’t last long. Picking into Overpass might have been Astralis’ undoing as it’s the second best map for CPH and they showed them and the world that they shouldn’t be taken lightly, as they beat them swiftly 16-7, going up 1-0 in the Challengers stage.

MAP VETO

1. Astralis removed Mirage

2. Astralis removed Vertigo

3. Copenhagen Flames removed Dust2

4. Copenhagen Flames removed Inferno

5. Copenhagen Flames removed Nuke

6. Astralis removed Ancient

7. Overpass was left over

The pistol and conversion in the first 3 rounds was the only shining light for the 4 time Major winners as they couldnt manage any consecutive rounds after it. The ones they did get were due to individual plays alone with a 4k from Peter ‘dupreeh’ Rasmussen and an Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif 3K. CPH posted 9 rounds on the CT side and on the switch, they showed the favourites no respect.

They cruised past them, winning 6 rounds on the trot as Astralis failed to post a single CT side round.

Ruining Pick em’s on day 1 itself, Astralis go down 0-1 while CPH go 1-0 on the first day of the Challengers Stage at PGL Stockholm.

karrigan shines as FaZe secure victory over Spirit

The first match of the 2021 PGL Stockholm Major for both sides, end in favour of the EU squad as the stars on FaZe Clan align to get off to a flying start over Team Spirit at the challengers’ stage.

Given the inconsistencies with FaZe Clan over the past few months, Team Spirit boasted a good chance to take the W but it can be a difficult job when FaZe offers a showing like this.

The veto ended in Overpass as the map where Spirit has looked sketchy in recent times and is their worst map statistically which brought questions to their game plan right off the bat and poorly played pistol round on the CT side Spirit added to their miseries.

FaZe Clan’s Helvijs ‘broky’ Sauskants and Russel ‘twistzz’ Van Dulken looked crisp with others stepping up when needed. Finn ‘karrigan’ Anderson slotted himself in the lurker role and worked wonders while leading a well-organized T-side. Off the back of his flanks, FaZe were able to convert anti-ecos which were right there for Spirit’s taking.

Leading 9 rounds to 6 on the T sid, FaZe secured a decent cushion before moving onto their CT, which is considered relatively easier when taking about Overpass. Despite losing 6 rounds, FaZe never looked like they weren’t in control of the game, thanks to Karrigan making it extremely difficult for the Russians to find a footing with a well thought out game plan.

CT side for FaZe looked much more solid than their previous showings on Overpass, Spiritonly managed 5 rounds before FaZe reached 16, off the back of steller multi-frags from the site anchors as well excellent reads made by their skipper.

karrigan who is often called out for his inconsistencies showed up as the highest-rated player for FaZe, looking beyond the stats will show the whole team performed well as a unit to take down Spirit which wasn’t supposed to be as easy as it looked.

Halo Infinite’s Campaign Overview shows a clear improvement over its initial gameplay reveal

0

Halo Infinite’s gameplay premiere was criticized heavily as the game, which was supposed to be a launch title for the Xbox Series S|X consoles, was clearly unfinished as its clay-like textures and pop-ins were quite apparent. The gameplay trailer also gave birth to the infamous Craig meme, a banished who had a rather amusing lack of expression despite being attacked by Master Chief.

Now over a year later and after numerous well-received multiplayer flights, Halo Infinite’s campaign has been re-revealed ahead of its December 8 release, and not only does it shed more light on the game’s Campaign, but it also shows obvious improvements in terms of the game’s visual upgrades.

The Campaign Overview trailer acknowledges Infinite’s connection to Halo 5 and shows off sections of the game’s starting moments where Master Chief teams up with an A.I called “The Weapon”, a carbon copy of Cortana who was Chief’s former A.I partner.

Additionally, players are also shown the game’s open-world elements, upgradable abilities, customizable weapons & gadgets along with a short introduction to The Banished, Master Chief’s primary adversaries;  who were first introduced in Halo Wars 2.

Halo Infinite is scheduled to release on December 8, 2021 for Xbox One & Series S|X (GamePass, Digital & Physical), and PC (Steam, Windows Store, GamePass).
