Riot Games’ recruitment indicates Valorant Mobile in final stages of development

VALORANT Mobile is an upcoming and one of the most anticipated titles that will bring their famous shooting title to mobile platform. Riot Games widened their portfolio on the occasion of ten year anniversary and announced multiple titles including Valorant and LOL: Wild Rift.

Since the release of VALORANT, it has solidified itself as one of the best FPS titles in the market. The fanbase has taken a liking in a unique game and Riot Games quickly realized the potential of porting Valorant to mobile platform.

Games like PUBG and Call of Duty have emerged successful after its release on mobile platforms and Riot Games has also found success with their first mobile game called Wild Rift.

Riot Games recently confirmed that VALORANT Mobile is indeed under development after several rumours about its testing surfaced on the internet. It will be a hard task to develop a game like Valorant for mobile market due to its intricate mechanisms and apparently the developers are working towards it.

A new job posting was recently updated on the official Riot Games website. The job title is Senior Game Designer for VALORANT Mobile and some of the responsibilities might indicate that Valorant Mobile is in the final stages of its development.

The responsibilities include things like “designing and refining systems that satisfy player needs of competition” and “playtesting the game to provide continuous developments for existing designs and prototypes.”

Riot Games took their time to make Wild Rift as perfect as possible and there were some delays due to the pandemic situation as well. VALORANT Mobile seems to be next in line and players can expect a word from the developers sooner than expected.

8Bit Goldy will no longer be a S8UL Co-owner

8Bit Goldy, one of the backbones of S8UL, has decided to step down from the co-owner position of S8UL from next month. In one of his most recent streams, Mr. Lokesh Jain revealed this information with no context given over the decision making involved.

Lokesh ‘Goldy’ Jain has been an integral part of 8BIT for a long time and has enjoyed success alongside 8Bit Thug and Soul Mortal. Team Soul and 8Bit were merged to form S8UL Esports with the aforementioned members as co-owners of this new brand.

S8UL is currently one of the most successful esports organizations in India with a strong creators’ lineup and a huge fan following for each of their content creators. Their esports front has been crumbling in BGMI and big decisions are being made on that front as well. Mortal recently disclosed that Mavi and Scout will not be playing under S8UL anymore and two different teams will be formed from the current roster.

8BIT Godly has made yet another big announcements by stepping down from the coownership position. He also stated that his role in S8UL will no longer be commanding the decisions but he will remain a part of this organization.

Mr. Lokesh Jain also made it clear that this stepdown is only limited to S8UL and he will remain a co-owner of 8Bit Creatives alongside Thug. 8Bit Creatives is a talent agency which represents some of the best names from the Indian esports community.

As mentioned before, the reasons behind this decision were not mentioned during the announcement but more clarity is expected once this is officially announced.

Blizzard To Rename Overwatch Character McCree to Cole Cassidy Next Week

Blizzard has decided to rename its iconic Overwatch cowboy gunslinger hero — McCree, to Cole Cassidy starting next week after the former lead level designer Jesse McCree was let go following an internal investigation over the lawsuit filed by California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing. 

The gunslinger was originally named after Jesse McCree as Blizzard used to name some in-game characters after real-life employees in the company. Following the current lawsuit and any future lawsuit, Blizzard has made a decision to completely remove names of real-life employees from its game characters and update those with fictional names. 

Blizzard says this change “will help reinforce that we’re building a fictional universe that is unmistakably different from the real world and better illustrates that the creation of Overwatch is truly a team effort.”

Blizzard officially unveiled the new name — Cole Cassidy, on Twitter. Blizzard also uploaded an introductory trailer video with a snippet from his new story.

“The first thing a renegade loses is their name, and this one gave up his long ago. Running from his past meant running from himself, and each passing year only widened the divide between who he had been and what he had become.”

“But in every cowboy’s life, there comes a time when he has to stop and make a stand. To make this new Overwatch better – to make things right – he had to be honest with his team and himself. The cowboy he was rode into the sunset, and Cole Cassidy faced the world at dawn.”

Activision Blizzard has been in serious legal problems for the past 3 months and has been under the federal agency lens for its culture of “constant sexual harassment” and “turning a blind eye to complaints”. Many high-level executives such as Blizzard president J. Allen Brack, Head of HR Jesse Meschuk, and three more high profile Blizzard employees have exited or been let go since the start of lawsuits.

PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2021 – Structure, Qualification revealed

Tencent Games, in an announcement, revealed the details regarding the upcoming PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2021. PMGC 2021 is scheduled to take place from November 30 to January 23, 2022, which will be played across three stages: League stage, League finals, and Grand finals.

Pubg Mobile Global Championship 2021, will feature the elite teams from the various regions who will fight for the champions title and a massive prize pool of $ 6 million USD. Last year, PMGC 2020 saw a total of 24 teams competing on the league stage. This season will witness a total of 40 teams split into the East and West region along with one special invite in the grand finals.

  • League (East and West): November 30 to December 19
  • League Finals (East and West): December 22 to 24
  • PMGC 2021 Grand Finals: January 21 to 23

PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021 Format

PMGC 2021 League stage will commence from 30th November featuring 20 teams in each East and West region. The top 16 teams from each region will qualify for the League finals. The east region will feature teams from the SEA, MENA, SA, and China region whereas the west region will feature teams from Europe and America region.

PMGC 2021 League finals will take place from December 22nd to 24th with the top 16 teams. The top 7 teams from Eastern and top 5 from the western division will get spots in the PMGC 2021 Grand finals. Along with the qualified teams, one special invited team will compete for the global champions title which is scheduled to take from 21st to 23rd January.

Intel Says Chip Shortages Could Last Until 2023, Might Hit CPU And GPU Supply

In an interview with CNBC, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger claims that the current chip shortage faced by the industry might continue until 2023 with some respite in supply every quarter of next year. 

After a weaker than expected Q3 sales report by intel this week, the shares of the company nosedived on the market and fell more than 8% before closing in red for the week. The company blamed the current chip shortage for lower sales and said the shortage will last until late 2022.

With lots of products in the pipeline for next year, Intel is expecting a better sale outlook for 2022. Intel’s upcoming Alder Lake CPUs will compete with AMD’s Zen 4 based or Zen 3+ based CPUs next year, with the company also entering the discrete GPU market with its ARC based “Alchemist” GPUs launching in the first quarter of 2022. 

Intel is confident about the upcoming products competing and winning over the competition, the company isn’t much optimistic about the supply. While Intel manufactures its chips in its own fabs, the demand in the market is at an all-time high and their new fabs won’t be going live before late 2022. 

Gelsinger said that PC demand was still strong and 2022 will only see incremental improvement in the semiconductor supply throughout the year until 2023. 

“We’re in the worst of it now, every quarter next year we’ll get incrementally better, but they’re not going to have supply-demand balance until 2023,” Gelsinger said.

Both AMD and Nvidia also predict a slight supply improvement in 2022 and have plans to launch a slew of new products starting next year. The competition will be fierce next year between these companies and consumers trying to buy new products before bots claim them.

The latest video game crossover coming to Fortnite brings the fan-favorite characters of the series Resident Evil skins along with various themed cosmetic items. 

Epic’s Fortnite is one of the biggest games on the planet with more than a million players online daily. Epic regularly partners with other video game developers to include famous characters from their game series into Fortnite as playable characters and also introduce themed cosmetics. Just the last month alone, Epic has introduced characters and items of famous series like Venom, The Walking Dead, and most recently the new Dune movie.

With Halloween right around the corner, it’s the best time to introduce characters from one of the best horror survival game series. Two of the most iconic characters from Capcom’s Resident Evil — Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, are now available in the item shop as of the new S.T.A.R.S. Team Set. Both Chris and Jill rock their original uniform with options for players to deck Chris out in his Hound Wolf Squad outfit from Resident Evil Village and Jill in her outfit from the Resident Evil 3 remake. Both characters are available as part of the Fortnite Gaming Legends skins. 

Other than the character skins various Resident Evil themed items are also available in the shop. Items such as the Green Herb and Saving Keystrokes typewriter back bling, the Stun Rod and Hot Dogger pickaxes, and a new comic book style loading screen are available now. During the last 2 years, there were no CSGO Majors due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation around the world. After such a long time, the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 is going to take place in the Avicii arena as the Swedish government has withdrawn all the restrictions for esports events.

This major is going to start from 26th October with a $2 million prize pool and 24 teams from all over the world will compete. The tickets for the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 are already on sale. On 7th November, the major will come to an end.

All the teams for the Stockholm Major are divided into Legends, Challengers, and Contenders, the same as the previous majors. The tournament will start from the Challengers stage to the Champions stage. Even though Challengers and Contenders teams will start from the beginning, the Legends teams will go to the second Legends stage without any hassle. The highly anticipated CSGO PGL Stockholm major 2021 is nearly here, and fans are more hyped than ever to see their favourite esports teams battling it out to determine the best CSGO team out there. However, not every star out there will be able to partake in the Stockholm Major. Many renowned esports athletes will be missing out on the major for a variety of reasons.

  1. KennyS: If you’re an avid CSGO fan, then chances are you’re already familiar with the name of this French giant. Kenny “kennyS” Schrub is undoubtedly one of the finest AWPers that the world of CSGO has ever seen. However, the 26-year-old was benched from G2 in March after a series of inconsistent performances. The absence of KennyS in the Stockholm Major will certainly be disheartening for a lot of older CSGO fans out there.

  1. Aleksib: ENCE’s run to the finals of Katowice Major 2019 is something that Finnish CSGO fans will cherish for a long time. The historic run that surprised the majority of the community was led by the young prodigy Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen. The star later joined OG in the same year and helped it rise and has helped the team rise towards the top. However, OG didn’t make it to the Stockholm Major, and as a result Aleksib won’t be attending it either.
  1. F0rest: Any list of the most iconic CSGO players across the world would be incomplete without the presence of the legendary player Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg. The Swede has been playing competitive Counter-Strike since 2005 and has been a part of the rosters of Fnatic, SK Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas. The 33-year-old has earned a whopping eight MVP titles throughout his career and was the winner of ESL Cologne 2014. However, f0rest won’t be attending Stockholm major 2021, which marks an end to an era of competitive CS.

Their astonishing run that ended with a victory against tournament favourites FaZe Clan had fans of North American CS cheering for them from across the world. Tarik is currently an inactive member of the Evil Geniuses roster and will be missing the Stockholm Major 2021.
  1. Coldzera: Marcelo “coldzera” David is a light that will illuminate the skies of CSGO for several years to come. The 26-year-old has been widely regarded as the best CSGO player of all time and was a part of the rosters of SK Gaming, MiBR and FaZe clan before joining Complexity this year. The two-time major winner missing out on the Stockholm Major 2021 is definitely saddening to CSGO fans across the globe.

Tiger Shroff to root for Indian gamers at World Esports Cup 2021

Bollywood star Tiger Shroff is going to root for the Indian teams qualifying for the World Esports Cup 2021. WEC 2021 is a tri-nation tournament for Free Fire where best teams from India, Pakistan and Nepal will gather for fame and glory.

In a special video, Tiger Shroff expressed his support for Indian gamers and also welcomed the participants from Nepal and Pakistan. World Esports Cup is scheduled to begin on November 25 registrations for this tournament begin on October 23. Tiger Shroff will act as a bridge to connect esports with the mainstream and run WEC ’21 campaign #GameHaiToFameHai that encourages players to showcase their top game and get rewards as well as recognition in the industry.

The inaugural season of World Esports Cup 2021 will have a grand prize pool of $100,000 and will run over the course of three months. The total live event will be streamed for 33 days on the official YouTube and Facebook channels of India Today and Aaj Tak along with their websites.

Tiger Shroff encouraged India players to participate in this tournament by saying, “Esports has shown a great potential in India as well as globally. I’m really excited to cheer for the Indian gamers in this action-packed mega tournament and urge fans to join us, extending their support to the participants.”

World Esports Cup Director Vishwalok Nath said, “Tiger cheering the Indian contingent will go to make the competition extra special and more exciting to watch out for. And not to forget the famous rivalry that has been so far a blockbuster in cricket and will now be seen in esports too which will test the ultimate strategies, coordination and tactical skills.”

Infinix Smartphones have partnered up with the franchise to become the title sponsors for World Esports Cup 2021. These big collaborations have set up the stage for players to gain a huge chunk of $100,000 (around ₹75 Lakh) and face the highest level of competition.
