YouTuber IShowSpeed Banned from Valorant Following Sexist ‘Trash Talk’

Popular YouTuber IShowSpeed has found himself amid controversies once again as a month-old clip of him has resurfaced where he’s seen raging at his teammates during a heated game of Valorant.

The exchange of profanities between the players eventually turned into Speed throwing sexist remarks at a female player when she claimed that he didn’t know “how to play the game.”

“Is a b**ch talking to me?” Speed screamed, as soon as the female player in his team spoke up. “Is a female talking to me? Am I tripping? Am I tripping or is a female talking to me? Is a f**king female talking to me? Get off the f**king game and do your husband’s dishes, b***h! Shut up! F**k you!”

The clip, which has now gone viral on the internet, captures the incident as it happens.

Prominent gaming personalities have called IShowSpeed out for his behavior during the game. “I now understand why Valorant queues are so unbelievably toxic,” Jake Lucky said in a Tweet.

Not long after the clips resurfaced, Riot’s game producer Sara Dadafshar tweeted that Speed had been permanently banned from Valorant and all other Riot titles.

“This is a huge yikes and we do NOT want players like this in our community at all,” Dadafshar said in her Tweet. “I went ahead and perma banned this player from VALORANT, as well as all other Riot Games.

There’s also a portion of people on the internet who are defending IShowSpeed in this scenario, claiming that his permaban was unjust.

Some are claiming that he was simply ‘trash talking’ during the game and not being serious, while others are pointing out that he was facing racist behaviors during one of his previous games, and that those people should be banned as well.

Following his permanent ban, Speed has put up an apology video where he admits that his actions were wrong.

“I wasn’t having a good day, you know? I was getting a lot of racist text-to-speech, donations, a lot of people talking about my dead aunt that’s in the grave right now,” Speed said. “I don’t want to make that no excuse, I’m wrong. Know what I’m saying? I’m not trying to justify. I don’t just bash on people for no reason, that’s where I’m coming from that.”

“I apologized from that girl. I apologize… if that girl wants to hit me up and say anything, you know, I would love to hear her out. I apologize, that’s not me. That clip is from months ago. I am sorry man.”
