The Steam profile belonging to long-term Valve employee Robin Walker has been subjected to a VAC ban, leading to widespread discussion within the community.
Walker’s account boasts a Valve Employee badge, where the ban showed up “zero days ago”, which caused a stir in the community given its ironic nature. VAC or Valve Anti-Cheat is infamous for its inability to stop cheating; however, it continues to protect popular games like CS2 and Dota. The reason behind Walker’s ban is far from clear at the time of writing, but unless this is a false alarm, it goes to show how even Valve employees are not afraid of the AC system they developed.
Being a highly reputed developer within the ranks of Valve, Walker has spent decades in the organization on some of the most iconic games like Team Fortress, a game that is guarded by the same Anti-Cheat system that flagged him. Given his role and the nature of his work, many theories are floating online, and one of the most probable scenarios remains that his ban was a result of some internal testing or development purposes in connection with efforts to make VAC more proficient.
On the off chance that the ban is real, Valve would be under severe scrutiny from the community due to their own employees not taking their anti-cheat seriously.
