With its launch a few moons away, a leak has surfaced suggesting that EA FC 27 will be shipping with a technology that will let players scan their own face into the game, a feature that was discontinued for over a decade, only for a more realistic version to be brought back into the game.
According to the leak, EA Sports will revive a feature dating back to FIFA 12, where players could scan themselves using the EA Sports GameFace system. PhotoFit, which the leak points to, is likely to be something similar, which just makes the same feature more realistic and lifelike compared to its predecessor.
While this might not seem like a breakthrough feature, having a player for yourself in the offline modes of the game is a nice quality-of-life improvement that most would not mind having. The reasons behind the removal of the feature were never disclosed by EA, but the fact that it was not missed over a decade speaks to how sparingly it was used by the players.
With the previous iterations of the game, many have voiced their concerns regarding how stale the game has become due to a lack of new game elements.
