FC 27 TOTW 8 Predictions: Yamal, Raphinha and Mbappé

LaLiga’s 11th round has given EA Sports FC 27 players plenty to think about before Team of the Week 8. Barcelona put six past Alavés, Real Madrid went 3-0 up at Racing de Santander on Sunday, and several Spanish players now have a strong case for an in-form card when EA reveals the next squad on Wednesday, 4 November.

Team of the Week cards arrive every Wednesday in Ultimate Team. TOTW 7 went live on 28 October with Kylian Mbappé at 92 as its headline card, alongside Gabriel at 90 and Klara Bühl at 89. These are the LaLiga players most likely to feature in TOTW 8, based on the results so far.

Barcelona and Real Madrid lead the LaLiga picks

Barcelona’s 6-1 win over Alavés on Saturday is the obvious starting point. Raphinha scored twice, in the 8th and 41st minutes, and Lamine Yamal also scored twice, either side of half-time, and set up Fermín López for the second goal. López finished with a goal and two assists, both of them for Raphinha. Anthony Gordon added the sixth from a Rodri pass, before Mariano Díaz pulled one back for Alavés.

Yamal looks the strongest candidate of the three. Two goals and an assist in a 6-1 win is the kind of line EA usually rewards, and Raphinha’s brace gives him a similar claim. With only a handful of LaLiga places in each squad, López could miss out despite his three goal contributions.

Real Madrid’s trip to El Sardinero was Sunday’s late kick-off and was still being played as this article was prepared. Mbappé opened the scoring from the penalty spot early on, and Bellingham and Diomandé added goals as Madrid went 3-0 up.

Mbappé already has a TOTW 7 card, but EA can give a player in-forms in consecutive weeks, so he cannot be ruled out. Bellingham is the safer Madrid pick if EA wants a new name, with Diomandé an outside option depending on how the rest of the match goes.

The rest of matchday 11, and when TOTW 8 drops

The other finished matches produced three clean sheets. Rayo Vallecano beat Celta Vigo 3-0, Atlético Madrid won 2-0 at Levante, and Espanyol won 1-0 at Villarreal on Friday. Real Betis also beat Málaga 2-1. A defender or goalkeeper from one of those clean sheets often fills the LaLiga slot when the attacking picks come from elsewhere in Europe.

Four more matches were set for Sunday: Getafe against Sevilla, Racing against Real Madrid, Elche against Valencia, and Athletic Club against Real Sociedad. Deportivo La Coruña host Osasuna on Monday, and Team of the Week usually covers the full round including Monday’s game, so a big performance in any of those can still change the LaLiga picks.

After the Saturday results, Barcelona top the table on 30 points from 11 games, two ahead of Atlético Madrid. Real Madrid went into Sunday third on 24 points with a game in hand.

TOTW 8 is due on Wednesday, 4 November, and its cards should stay in packs for about a week, the same window TOTW 7 had. The full squad will also include players from the Premier League, Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and the women’s leagues, as TOTW 7 did, so expect only three or four LaLiga names. TOTW 7 had 23 cards in total. Full matchday 11 results are on the official LaLiga site.
