RNTX Jumps Into EA FC With Vanshaj Sharma, Two Days Before FC Pro’s London Qualifier

RNTX has signed Indian EA FC player Vanshaj Sharma days before the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier in London, where he and Charanjot carry Asia South's hopes.

RNTX has made its first known move into EA SPORTS FC, signing Indian player Vanshaj Sharma only two days before the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier gets under way in London. The organisation, which posts on X as Revenant Esports, confirmed on November 4 that he will represent it at the event.

The announcement went out at 11:02am IST with a welcome graphic that carries FC Pro branding, Indian flags and the logos of AMD Ryzen and Radeon, Monster Energy and Cybeart. RNTX called Vanshaj its representative for the qualifier, which starts on Friday, November 6, at BBC Television Studios.

His ticket to London had already been earned before the move was made public. Vanshaj came through the Asia South Regional Qualifier last month, and EA’s official list of 64 competitors names him alongside GodLike’s Charanjot Singh, so both of the region’s places went to Indian players.

Why a BGMI powerhouse is betting on a one-player EA FC roster

Most fans in India still think of RNTX as a Battlegrounds Mobile India organisation before anything else. Revenant Esports and Team XSpark joined forces in October 2024, and only this week the organisation brought back in-game leader Shadow while BGMS Season 5 champion Phoenix joined its new BGMI lineup.

Its X profile also lists teams in Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, Brawl Stars and Call of Duty: Mobile, yet Liquipedia’s EA SPORTS FC wiki has no earlier record of the organisation in the game. Football esports is also a different kind of project, because FC Pro is a one-versus-one PlayStation 5 circuit where a single player carries the badge.

That makes it a far lighter commitment than a five-player BGMI roster, while still putting the RNTX crest in front of EA’s global broadcasts. The Esports World Cup has also hosted the FC Pro World Championship for the last two seasons, with RvPLegend crowned world champion in Paris this July.

Vanshaj Sharma’s long chase behind Charanjot

Vanshaj is far from a newcomer to Indian football esports. His X profile says he represented FC Goa in the eISL, the esports competition of the Indian Super League, and lists a top 128 finish at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh.

Liquipedia’s records go back to January 2023, when he reached the top eight of the FIFA 23 Global Series South Asia Qualifier #1. Kun, who went on to win the event, knocked him out 6-2 in the quarter-finals, while Charanjot also fell at that stage.

His best recent run came at the FC Pro 26 Open Cup December for Asia South, which was played on December 20 and 21, 2025. Vanshaj reached the semi-finals before losing 11-10 to Malaysia’s AkmalJHD, and Charanjot then beat AkmalJHD 14-13 in the final to take the $3,000 top prize.

August brought a near miss on the national stage, as Vanshaj finished joint seventh in the Asia South qualifier for the Esports Nations Cup, where only four places were available. Charanjot had already claimed India’s direct invite through the FC Pro World Rankings as the country’s highest-ranked eligible player.

The Esports Foundation has since pushed the ENC back to November 2027, which means that EA SPORTS FC event in Riyadh is still a year away. October finally went Vanshaj’s way, and after the regional qualifier he summed up the moment on X in four words: “Finally qualified for London.”

What Vanshaj faces at BBC Television Studios

The Global Qualifier is the first in-person event of the FC Pro 27 season, and its field mixes 52 regional qualifiers with 12 invited players from last season’s FC Pro Open. Play begins on Friday at 4pm GMT, or 9:30pm IST, with a five-round Swiss Stage.

In that opening stage, three wins send a player through and three losses end his tournament, with opponents on the same record paired after the first round. The 32 survivors return on Saturday for a double-elimination Knockout Stage, split into four groups of eight players.

Saturday’s matches will be broadcast on the EA SPORTS FC Twitch channel and the EA SPORTS FC Pro YouTube channel from 3pm GMT, which is 8:30pm in India. Indian fans will at least get a prime-time slot if either of the country’s two players survives the Swiss Stage on Friday night.

Sixteen players will leave London with places in the FC Pro Open, where they will join eight players who have already qualified. That 24-player competition starts on November 30 with four groups of six, runs until a final on January 25, 2027, and carries a $533,000 prize pool. The stakes go beyond prize money, because group winners in the FC Pro Open earn seats at the FC Pro World Championship and quarter-finalists receive invitations to it. The Global Qualifier itself has a $152,000 prize pool, according to EA’s FC Pro 27 season guide.

The draw will not be gentle for either Indian, since the field includes 2025 FC Pro World Champion ManuBachoore and English veteran Tekkz. Charanjot and Vanshaj are the only Asia South players among the 64, and both start their campaigns on Friday afternoon in London.
