Valve is once again upping the pace in the battle against CS2 cheaters, as they send out another wave of invites to the VACNet Labeling Portal.
Through an X post earlier today, Valve confirmed that it has sent out a fresh wave of VACNet labeling page invites to CS2 players, with the aim of curbing the cheating problem in the shooter even further.
For the unaware, the VACNet Labeling Portal is a recently implemented tool that lets select users examine gameplay footage and flag behavior that may indicate cheating. Unlike CS:GO’s Overwatch system, the decisions from the reviewers in the VACNet labeling portal can’t issue direct bans on the suspects, but Valve uses these human judgments to help its anti-cheat AI recognize suspicious play more accurately.
The impact of the VACNet Labeling Portal in CS2 matchmaking was prominent, to say the least. Shortly after the feature went live, players from throughout the world reported seeing mid-game bans and match cancellations, with the number of bans skyrocketing over the weeks.
The improved anti-cheat measures also wreaked havoc in cheater forums, with cheat devs warning buyers to avoid playing premier entirely.
Now, it seems that Valve is looking to strike while the iron is still hot, sending out a wave of VACNet Labeling Portal invites to users once again to further improve the quality of the game’s anti-cheat.
Alongside sending out the new invites, the devs behind CS2 also thanked the VACNet labelers for helping improve the game’s match quality over the past few months.
To check if you received a VACNet Labeling Portal invite in this latest wave, you’ll have to launch CS2 and look at the top-left corner of your main menu. If you do have an invite, you should be able to see a VACNet icon there.
If you don’t have an invite yet, players who already have access to the portal are still able to invite you, so be sure to ask around in your friend circle.
