PGL has just dropped some exciting news about their upcoming tournament plans, confirming a return to Cluj-Napoca in 2026 and unveiling two major events slated for early 2027.
Mark your calendars: PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 will unfold from February 9th to 23rd at the BTarena. Sixteen teams, all invited through the VRS system, will battle it out for a hefty $1,250,000 prize pool. Looking ahead to 2027, PGL has scheduled two more top-tier tournaments. The first will run from February 8th to 22nd, and the second from March 16th to 29th.
Alongside these tournament announcements, PGL has also revealed an important update to their rulebook. A new clause now states that any team accepting an invitation to a PGL event but subsequently failing to attend (without a valid excuse) will be barred from receiving an invitation to the next PGL event they would be eligible for.
This rule seems designed to discourage last-minute withdrawals, a problem PGL has likely encountered before. One recent example is FURIA’s withdrawal from PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 just a week before the event, forcing PGL to bring in Imperial Valkyries as a replacement.
