G2 beat North to win DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017

0

DreamHack Malmo Masters 2017 had its moment in the five-day phenomenal festival for the CSGO fans. The fans were excited to see multiple teams live in action after their structural changes. Natus Vincere had Zeus back. Olofmeister teaming up with karrigan and GuardiaN in FaZe, and Gambit with their new talent Fitch! And of course the best part on how G2 got blessed in disguise from the over-commitment of SK players.

The grand final commenced very soon after the second semi-finals. The veto was Train, Cobblestone, and Nuke. The first map appeared to be more or less one-sided for the G2 side when they first began. Soon after, things settled and North grabbed some gear on the game. The game concluded at 16-12 quite comfortably.

The second game at Cobblestone was rather a practice game for G2 as North didn’t find their ground until the game finished. The map ended flawlessly in favor of G2 side with final standings 16-9.

G2, who were one round away from getting knocked out of the tournament managed to get back from the level and win the tournament.

DreamHack Masters Malmo is a pride event for the Swedes. Every year thousands of people walk in to experience the fest and support their favorite teams. And likewise, this year the arena was backing the Swedish pride Ninjas in Pyjamas during the semi-finals. Unfortunately, they couldn’t make it to the grand finals, but it was certainly a rising event for the Ninjas. Draken and REZ were the newest addition who didn’t fail to impress the crowd. On the French side of the teams, FaZe disappointed thousands of fans as they couldn’t qualify for the play offs even though having such destructive fire power.

It will be great to see these teams adjusting themselves after Malmo championship. We will see them compete at ESG Tour Mykonos 2017 in the coming weekend, and of course at ELEAGUE CSGO 2017 in the next month.

DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017 – Quarter finals draw

The three days at DreamHack Masters Malmo concluded. Two teams from each group made it to the quarter finals. The $250,000 event had a different outcome for the Swedish side, NiP who were not the favorites.

The quarterfinals of DreamHack Masters Malmo commences today from 13:30 IST. The first game will be between G2 Esports and SK Gaming. All the games will follow the best of three rules for the quarter finals. The games will be single-eliminators.

  • SK vs G2 Esports
  • North vs Immortals
  • NiP vs Natus Vincere
  • Gambit vs Astralis

The four games will be played today, from which four teams will advance to the semis and the finals there onwards, which will be played tomorrow.

NiP hires fulltime mental coach for their CSGO divison

NiP’s CEO Hicham Chahine on Twitter welcomed a new “mental” coach to their team, Jens Hofer. Jens will look after the CSGO division of NiP and work around their mental strategies.

Jens Hofer as NiP CSGO mental coach

It is not yet clear what the mental coach will be particular about, supposedly an event of artificial psychology. It will be interesting however to know the different aspects of the mental mechanism which, if at all, adds up to the improved game.

NiP will be soon seen competing in Group C with Gambit, FaZe and mousesports at DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017. We anticipate and willingly pray that NiP gets back the missing form.

Eternal Gaming now has DotA 2 Squad; Acquires Aggressive5

After a breathtaking performance from the past few events, Aggressive5, considered to be one of the top DotA 2 teams in India has found a new home. Eternal Gaming, the parent company of Eternal Esports has now attained the rights of Aggressive5 for at least a year our sources have learned.

The contract between Eternal Gaming and Aggressive5 will last for at least 12 months. The players, coaches, and management will all be on the payroll of EG.

The board of the company has decided that the team management will be lead by Vishal Gupta, who holds more than two years of experience of administrating ESL events. Vishal was also a part of TalkEsport.com for more than a year. While talking to the owner of the EG, Gautam Mengi we learned about his disappointment from other competitive teams pulling in international players.

  • Anuj “Amaterasu” Sharma

While talking to the owner of the Eternal Gaming, Gautam Mengi we learned about his disappointment from other competitive teams pulling in international players.

Eternal Gaming’s existence more likely emphasized on developing and testing the perseverance of the Indian talent rather going overseas and owning talented ones.

When we asked the owner why did not he take the path of buying foreign players for experience and style of the plays, Gautam quoted and I say: “1.2 billion population of India and you’re telling me we do not have 5 good players? Absurd! Having an international player or two in your team is good, but I’d always stick with at least 3-4 Indians in my squad. I believe, Hard work always beats talent”.

We wish Eternal Gaming the very best for their future endeavors. The team now looks complete with their CSGO and DotA 2 squad, both intact.

Is the Spiderman PS4 coming to Windows 10?

1

Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man is swinging its way to PS4 sometime next year. Bringing with it all of the web-slinging, goon-fighting action that fans have come to know and love from the superhero, from what we’ve seen so far the game is shaping up to rectify some of the missteps of recent Spider-Man titles. Of course, with many games that release on the PS4 also coming to the PC, some fans may be wondering if they’ll be able to swing their way through New York City on their gaming rigs.

Unfortunately for PC players, it doesn’t look like they’ll be able to play the upcoming title on their PCs anytime soon. While the game isn’t tagged as an “Only on PlayStation” title over on the game’s official page, Insomniac’s console exclusives, whether they’re for Xbox One or PS4, don’t tend to hit the platform. For example, Sunset Overdrives and last year’s Ratchet and Clank titles both stayed solely on their respective console platforms.

As such, if you’re looking to play Insomniac’s superhero title, you’ll probably want to look into picking up Sony’s home console. Spider-Man currently has a vague 2018 release date, but here’s hoping that’ll get narrowed down sometime soon.

DreamHack Masters Malmo Groups 2017 revealed

2

The sixteen teams battling it out at this year’s DreamHack Masters Malmo are structured. Where the world’s best lineup SK Gaming has got a relatively unchallenging group, it is hard to determine the top teams from other groups.

DreamHack Masters Malmo is scheduled August 30th to 3rd September at Malmo Arena.

The sixteen teams will battle for $250,000 prize pool. Out of the sixteen teams, fourteen have been sent direct invites to the event whereas four made their way through the qualifiers.

[table id=7 /]

Interestingly, DreamHack Malmo groups other than “A” will have breathtaking competition. Group B’s compelling presence of competitive teams has Natus Vincere, Astralis, and Virtus.Pro, three of the most powerful squads in CS:GO along with Renegades. Whereas, Gambit has to face the hurdle of (new) FaZe to win the battle. Group D has a considerably weak competitive aura.

The teams to enter into playoffs can certainly be, SK & North from Group A. Astralis & Navi from Group B. Gambit & FaZe from C; Immortals and Fnatic from the D group.

OpTic disqualified from ELEAGUE

Following their roster change yesterday, the officials at ELEAGUE have cleared the air and disqualified OpTic from this season. The move came in soon after OpTic signed allu, friberg and Magisk in their lineup.

The official statement of Turner Sports, the organization which runs ELEAGUE, clearly labeled this as “inconsistent with ELEAGUE rules” which says, “if more than two players on a team’s roster are changed, the team will be removed from the tournament immediately.”

The determination of the team taking the sport of OpTic will be finalized on the American Open Qualifiers of ELEAGUE, scheduled on 26th and 27th August.

Ironic it may sound, OpTiC was the champions of ELEAGUE Season 2 where they beat Astralis 2-1.

OpTic add allu, friberg and Magisk to complete their roster

After RUSH and tarik made their way to Cloud9, OpTic had to fill their slots and they did so with allu and Friberg. Both of which have played full time for the Swedish side Ninjas in Pyjamas.

The impact of stansilaw’s departure from the lineup was severe. The team had to face pretty much the ups and downs all the time. There was little luck for OpTic with standins and backup players in this year.  As the player break is coming to an end and the second season of the year is about to kick off, OpTic have unveiled three new players: Emil “Magisk” Reif, Adam “friberg” Friberg and Aleksi “allu” Jalli.

OpTic gaming roster now has all the players from Europe; only the coach from the States:

  • mixwell
  • allu
  • friberg
  • NAF (sub)
  • Magisk
  • ImApet (coach)

OpTic which originates from North America and had players from the same region, now owns all the players from Europe.

The team’s fifth member hasn’t been officially announced yet, with NAF revealing that he will be standing in for the first week of ESL Pro League—after which OpTic is expected to reveal their last player.

GODSENT takes in dennis, pyth

0

Swedes are on a roller coaster ride it seems. GODSENT, the closest fnatic counterpart has undergone a change in their roster. GODSENT welcomes Dennis in their active roster and pyth as a stand-in for ESL Pro League. The moves comes in after FaZe announced their new lineup with Olof earlier today.

Joining the new roster dennis stated: It’s been nearly 2 years since I joined fnatic for an incredible journey. However all things come to an end, and I am looking forward to rejoining two of my most recent team mates, Twist and Doplan. We went to the Eleague Major semi finals back in January this year and with the potential on this roster we will aim for that – and more! I look very much forward to working with the GODSENT team!

GODSENT’s roster now looks like;

  • Simon “twist” Eliasson
  • Joakim “disco doplan” Gidetun
  • Andreas “znajder” Lindberg
  • Dennis “dennis” Edman
  • Markus “pronax” Wallsten – Substitute
  • Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi (EPL only) – Substitute

The most unfortunate of all pronax, who led Fnatic extraordinarily in 2014-2015 where they won 6 back to back events. Pronax expressed his disappointment with himself in his official statement:

“Being a part of GODSENT since it’s creation has been a roller coaster of emotions, with the hardships of being a “startup” – to then later join the ranks of RFRSH, and then the shuffles back & forth with fnatic. Co-founding GODSENT is the most ambitious project i have taken on so far, and definitely the hardest one. I have grown immensely as a person, for that I’m grateful.

Poor performance and continuous struggles to find common ground within the team made it evident for all of us that a change had to happen. Unfortunately for me, it means that I am put on the sideline. I have not played with a group of players that I have clicked this well with ever since my 1.6 days and needless to say, I would have loved to be a part of the active roster for the upcoming season, but I do respect the decision the team has made.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to RFRSH who has been a blast to work with, also the current & past staff/players of GODSENT, especially the people that was/has been around from the beginning, without you GODSENT would not be reality!”

Olofmeister moves to FaZe; fnatic gets Golden

1

The speculation has finally been adopted by the officials. Olofmeister has officially joined FaZe today after having stayed in the Swedish organization Fnatic for three long years.

Kioshimi at Faze will set aside to make room for Olof. Fnatic’s management head cArn shared his views on Olof quitting the lineup: “I want to use this moment to send my biggest thanks to Olof for everything he has done for us and the team. We all look forward to following your incredible career going forward. Please also join me in giving Golden and Samuelsson a warm welcome. The Golden era starts now.

Olof, on the other hand also spoke his heart out and acknowledge how hard the decision was to quit Fnatic. In his statement he also shared that the audience will welcome seeing the Old Olof back to CS:GO scene. Full statement:

“After a lot of contemplation, I have decided to step down from Fnatic and take on new challenges with Faze Clan. It has been a very hard decision to leave the organization that I love and the organization that has given me so much in terms of winnings, experience, friends, fans and great times.”

“As good as it has been I have during the last months felt a slight lack of motivation, or rather positive nervousness, that I felt when I first joined Fnatic. I want that feeling back and feel that the only remedy is to try something new.”

“Ps. And maybe, just maybe, people will remember an Olofmeister flick.”

FaZe will be seen competing with their new lineup at DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017:

  • Rain
  • Olofmeister
  • NiKko
  • GuardiaN
  • karrigan
  • RobbaN

Whereas Fnatic now has a rather silent lineup with Olof as their star missing out:

  • dennis lekr0
  • JW
  • KRIMZ
  • flusha
  • GOLDEN

Olofmeister’s residential colleague RobbaN, who is a coach at FaZe charmed his feeling in the official statement where he uttered:

“I’m super excited to have olofmeister on the team. It’s a guy that has everything that you want. During my time in FaZe there have been a lot of roster changes trying to find a lineup that have the same goals and in the same time have good chemistry, we now have that. Now it’s all about practice hard and finds the best way to use our players. Thank you kioShiMa for many great memories together including one trophy and a big welcome to Olof!”

Coincidentally, after Olofmeister returned from injury, Fnatic 16-0’ed FaZe in the last year’s ELEAGUE. It will be promising to the chemistry developing between Olof & the current FaZe team; considering it is one of the strongest lineups out there.
