0

A 11-year-old boy allegedly killed a 10-year-old girl from the neighbourhood as she would repeatedly beat him in an online game. According to the reports, both of them played mobile game named “Free Fire” and the boy was very upset after the girl defeated him in the game.

The culprit was quickly detained and has confessed about the crime, said the police. The incident took place in Indore when the boy was upset after facing defeats and enraged when he got suspicious that the girl had killed his pet rat.

“The girl denied killing the rat and the accused boy decided to confront her. They got into a scuffle, threw stones at each other and when finally the girl was hit on the head and fell down, the boy killed her by repeatedly hitting her,” said deputy inspector general (DIG) of Indore Harinarayan Chhari Mishra.

The DIG further added, “These are times of online classes, but children often get into online games and it is very important to monitor what kind of game they are playing and what impact such games might have on the tender minds. It has to be understood that those killed in a game can come back alive, but in real life such opportunity is not there.”

Cloud9 to Rebuild CSGO Roster With HenryG and Kassad

North American esports organization Cloud9 has announced their plans to rebuild their CSGO lineup from scratch with two major signings – Henry “HenryG” Greer and Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović. On September 6th, the org announced dropping their previous roster with an aim to build a new one.

HenryG, who has been signed as the general manager of Cloud9, recently called an end to his long career in casting. The player-turned-commentator had participated in over 150 events since the beginning of his casting career.

In a Dexerto interview, HenryG revealed his plans for the future of the organization. ” “My plans for this team are certainly ambitious,” the 32-year-old said. “I wouldn’t be involved in any sort of General Manager role unless I had absolute full control of the roster and direction we plan to head.”

Cloud9 entrusting Henry with their “entire CSGO dynasty” was, according to him, the boldest move any organization had made in a long time. “I’m aware there is a certain level of expectation going forward now. Failure simply isn’t an option,” the former caster said to Dexerto.

However, the roster for the revamped Cloud9 team hasn’t been finalized yet. In fact, HenryG is still looking for new talents to join their lineup. “You think you have what it takes to compete in the top 10 of the world? You know where to find me,” Henry tweeted.

Kassad, who has been signed as the Head Coach of Cloud9, seems to be equally as optimistic about the future of the org.

“I think this is going to be one great project,” Kassad told Dexerto. “Cloud9 is one of the most respectable orgs in esports and we are going to make sure we put in everything we have to build the CSGO team they deserve.”

Kassad is renowned for his skills to improve teams as a coach and has coached many professional teams in the past including mousesports, Renegades and 100 Thieves.

Like us, Cloud9 fans will also undoubtedly be eager to see the next move coming from the org. We’ll be sure to post regular updates on what comes next.

New Zealand’s PM Jacinda Ardern made a guest appearance in Broxh’s live-stream earlier today. Broxh is known as the most wholesome streamer on Twitch where he does wood carving.

NZ Prime Minister stopped by and made a brief appearance on his livestream where she interacted with Broxh and his live chat. On the request of his chat asking her to dab, she fulfilled their request.

Broxh is a wood carver who plays World of Warcraft and streams Whakairo, the Maori art of carving, on his livestream. He became popular due to his humble nature on a streaming platform full of quirky personalities and prodigal gamers. Broxh was just a small streamer until his one clip went viral.

When a viewer gifted subs to Broxh, he reacted in an astonishing manner. He tried to return back the money and is probably the only known streamer to do so. This gained him a lot of deserved traction and he earned almost 500,000 new followers.

The numbers have been rising since then where people are tuning in to watch this wholesome man carve splendid artwork on wood and interact with his whanau. “Whanau” is a Maori term for extended family and he uses it to adress his followers.

The humble nature of this man even caught an eye of the country’s Prime Minister. Both of them talked about his artwork, discussed about Twitch and livestream and PM Jacinda Ardern even commended Broxh on his ability to carve such beautiful artworks while spontaneously being interactive with his chat.

The Prime Minister took her leave after thanking Broxh to allow her to come and interact on his livestream. This is probably the only time a big personality like the country’s Prime Minister has interacted with such a wholesome streamer from the same country.

Putin approves Esports in Russian Schools

0

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his support for the idea of holding Esports tournaments in Russian schools during the All-Russian open lesson. According to Reports, the esports is officially “in law.”

Russia was among the very first countries in the world to officially recognise esports as a sports discipline back in 2016 and now taking further steps to inculcate esports culture along with traditional sports in school curriculum.

According to the reports, Putin legitimised esports in schools which will “contribute to the destruction of cliches in the minds of many parents that computer games are pure evil.” Putin emphasized on the fact that esports is “highly useful” only if the tournaments are held in best possible manner.

This indicates to the fact that schools will be getting a complete upgrade in terms of hardware. The least possible hardware which can support games to be played in decent graphics will be utilised to keep up with the “quality” of tournaments that Putin has emphasized in his speech.

As the tournaments are going online and esports is only rising day by day, the pandemic factor has only helped to boost the esports industry further. The growth is evident as more players are active in-game with the additional free time and viewership on streaming platforms have sky-rocketed. An example of viewership is LEC finals where the concurrent watching peaked one million viewers.

This move by President Putin will help the esports industry to grow in Russia and set a grassroots level for upcoming players who want to opt gaming as their profession from a very early age.

0

Megastars is one of the top organizations working in Indian Esports scene, mainly competing in Mobile titles. The PUBG Mobile squad playing under Megastars banner has been disbanded after the the game was banned some days ago.

PUBG Mobile and its ban is currently a very hot topic in India. Almost the entire country is aware about this massive ban and the esports industry in India is instantly facing the backlash. The players and organisations competing in the PUBG Mobile esports industry have a complex decision to make and Megastars becomes the first prominent team in India to announce the future of their PUBG Mobile roster.

Megastars has decided to shutdown their operations related to PUBG Mobile division due to this ban. The ban was considered to be reverted in some way considering the thriving industry surrounding that single title but there are no official announcements by Tencent till date.

Megastars was among the top seven teams in India that competed globally during PMWL East 2020. While the team could not win the tournament, they left their impact during the league stages by consistently performing for two weeks straight. Megastars wasn’t able to instantly gain traction when they entered this scene. They had to work hard to showcase their talent and subsequently received what they deserved.

Players like Paradox and Encore announced their departure and talked about their journey and some future plans. Kull, the founder of Villagers Esports, expressed his own views on the current condition of Indian organizations in a video addressing some financial prospects of the industry.

Indian Streamers: The Flourishing Market of Fake YouTube Views

0

Our sources have revealed that many of the prominent Indian Gaming YouTubers have employed viewbots for their channel at some point in their career till date and are continuing to do so. The revelation is quite a shocking one and includes high profile names in the Indian Gaming industry.

For people who do not know what a viewbot is, it basically is a system that boosts your viewership, be it in terms of live concurrent viewers on a livestream or total views on a video.

The report indicates that while some big names have only contracted to use viewbots on specific videos or live streams mainly to boost views on media related to brand deals or sponsors, there are several who employ this system regularly based on a periodical contract.

An inside source in the viewbotting market revealed to us that there are ‘packages’ for people to choose from; packages that vary based on the number of views/viewers one needs and even monthly packages where there is a lump sum payment each month in lieu of using the viewbot regularly on every video/live stream if and when the buyer wishes to do so.

This paints a gruesome picture for brands and the future of the YouTube gaming scene as it invalidates a large portion of the viewership of several prominent Indian Gaming Streamers on YouTube. We have refrained from taking names in this article as a matter of courtesy. We request and urge the complicit users to move away from this practice and/or come clean to their loyal audience.
