A 21-year-old student has allegedly killed himself after being not being able to play PUBG Mobile. Pritam Halder, the deceased, was found hanging in his house according to the police. The deceased was an ITI student from West Bengal’s Nadia district.

According to the reports, the boy locked himself in his room after having breakfast on Friday morning. His mother explains that she went to call him for having lunch but he did not answer. After repeated knocks, his mother called the neighbours and broke open the door to find him “hanging from the ceiling fan.”

The student’s mother also clarified that her son was frustrated for not being able to play PUBG. Talking about the game she said, “He used to play it at night. I think he died by suicide as he was not being able to play PUBG Mobile.”

PUBG Mobile was banned alongside 117 other chinese apps on wednesday as it violated datamining norms. According to the press release, the apps were blocked as they are “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, Defense of India and security of state and public order.”

The suicide for allegedly not being able to play PUBG Mobile after ban is one of the shocking cases amongst several others like killing, stealing and other suicide cases which took place prior to the ban. The game was beloved to a large number of people and it’s shutdown caused a lot of panic in the mobile gaming community.
