0

Thursday, 19th November 2020: Guild Esports is excited to announce its latest signing and debut Fortnite professional athlete, Denmark-born Nikolaj ‘Flikk” Frøslev.

Flikk was picked up as a free agent and is being on-boarded as Guild’s first-ever Fornite pro-player. Guild is highly confident that Flikk will be a strong addition to the organization, representing Guild at upcoming Fortnite tournaments including the 1M Super Cup this weekend.

Flikk is the first of several Fortnite player announcements which the company will make in due course and supports Guild’s ambition to pave the way as the world’s leading Fortnite esports team and win multiple championships in the process.

Flikk currently ranks in the Top 20 Fortnite pros in Europe, with a history of achievements and wins, most recently finishing 3rd in the FNCS (Fortnite Champion Series) Trio Finals in November this year. His tournament prize winnings to date accumulate to over 100K US dollars.

Guild’s launch into Fortnite will introduce the company to new audiences and enhance its social reach with the esports’ highly engaged digital audiences. Flikk has a combined social media following of 237,900 across his social channels, comprising 35,800 followers on Instagram, 60,800 YouTube subscribers, 67,200 followers on Twitch, and 74,100 on Twitter.

Carleton Curtis, Executive Chairman at Guild Esports said, “We are extremely proud of our latest signing with Flikk, and can’t wait to see what he brings to the table as our inaugural Fornite pro-player. This signing marks another exciting move for Guild as we expand into a new esports discipline with Fornite and its enormous player base of over 350 million registered players.”

Flikk added, “Guild is the perfect fit for me, and I’m determined to continue building on Guild’s success, and my own personal achievements. The Guild organization has been really welcoming and helped me settle in, and I’m eager now to get started and focus on my performance.”

PUBG Mobile India players greeted with “account data migration” message on loading screen

0

PUBG Mobile India is on the threshold of getting released in the country after a two-month long hiatus and since the announcement of return, one question arises is that if the old user data is coming back with the new game or not.

The user data is the most precious thing for any PUBG Mobile player that has invested heavily their time and money in-game and there is a possibility that players can gain access to their old user accounts.

According to some users, PUBG Mobile is transferring the user data to PUBG Mobile India servers and this will enable players to access their entire inventory and other things. PUBG Mobile India is going to be a completely different game and hence, most of the players were worried about losing their account.

Similar to Korean version, PUBG Mobile will operate independently, with no connections to the global version and this potentially meant that players needed to create a new account to access the game. This issue is somehow getting resolved as some claims suggest that the entire data transfer is taking place.

In a social media post, a user uploaded a video showing the potential data transfer. In the recording, the user tried to login but a prompt popped up which stated “Can’t log in. Your account is migrated to PUBG Mobile India.”

The authenticity of this video cannot be verified but if it is true, a good news is waiting for the PUBG Mobile players in India. This data transfer will restore the previously purchased UC, acquired skins and season rank-up and other details.

Valorant bags more nominations than CSGO at The Game Awards

Valorant has already been labelled the CSGO killer by the gaming industry and the release of the game has already had far-reaching effects on the CSGO ecosystem in every region.

There are numbers that say otherwise, with CSGO seeing record users, touching the million mark once more.

However, it seems the gaming industry has taken a liking to Valorant, with the Game Awards proving the same in terms of nominations.

Among Us, Fall Guys and Animal Crossing were almost certain to be nominated in the Best Multiplayer category. But, Valorant and Call of Duty: Warzone have also earned a nomination in the said category while there is no mention of CSGO.

Valorant earned nominations in two other categories while CSGO was nominated in just 1 field – for the Best Esports Game. Valorant is also included in that category.

In terms of legacy esports titles, League of Legends is present in the Best Esports game nominations. However, Dota2 has failed to make the cut in what will be a worrying sign for the scene.

Mumbai Based Company Working On A Game Inspired By GTA Vice City

0

According to a Moneycontrol report released yesterday, Mumbai-based game developing company GameEon has already started working on developing an open-world game inspired by the likes of classics like GTA Vice City.

Having over 30 games in the Google Play Store with a combined download count of over 100 million, this will be the first venture of GameEon to the world of PC video gaming.

GTA Vice City is a renowned game across the world, but it managed to gain an exceptional player base in India due to its unique gameplay mechanics and enjoyable storyline. Developed by Rockstar Games and published in 2002, GTA Vice City follows the exploits of a mobster Tommy Vercetti, the game’s primary protagonist, after he is released from prison.

GameEon has decided to name their upcoming title ‘Mumbai Gullies’. According to the report, the game will allow players to explore virtual city-like environments within the game while pursuing a storyline or completing “missions”.

Mumbai Gullies will primarily be a single-player game focused on the storyline, similar to most GTA titles. However, Nikhil Malankar, founder of GameEon, has left open the possibility of a multiplayer version in the future depending on players’ feedback.

Interestingly enough, Malankar claimed that the game has already been in development for the past five years.

“We wanted a game that would represent our city just like GTA Vice City,” he said to Moneycontrol.

While it’s still unclear when will the game finally release, Malankar said that the game will likely take another 2 years to produce. He further mentioned that it’ll only be available to play on PC at the time of its release.

PUBG Mobile India Post Launch Plans Explained

0

PUBG Mobile is finally coming back in India and this comeback is huge for Krafton and its upcoming ventures. The company is making a large amount of financial and logistical investments in the country and this can play a huge role if they are able to tap into the mobile gaming market that has been flourishing in the country for the last few years.

Krafton Inc. is a South Korean video game holding company. The company was created to better align all its subsidiaries and itself under a unified brand and PUBG Corporation was one of the subsidiaries. Recently, PUBG Corp. merged with Krafton and the entirety of the latter was acquired by Krafton. This acquisition included PUBG and PUBG Mobile Korea and now, PUBG Mobile India will fall under the same category.

Since the ban, Krafton was setting up perfectly for its return in India in the form of PUBG Corporation. The company started by severing its ties with Chinese conglomerate Tencent games for the region and then, assured the PUBG fans in India that the game will make a comeback soon.

After being silent for quite a while, Krafton made a collaboration announcement with Microsoft Azure to host its data, including PUBG Mobile. This strengthened the possibility of PUBG Mobile’s comeback in India and then, the final announcement came in where Krafton stated their full-scale return.

Apart from PUBG Mobile return, Krafton as a whole is entering India to set-up for a sustainable future in the country. The company revealed its plans to invest $100M in the country to contribute to the development of the Indian video game, esports, IT, and entertainment industries.

Krafton will establish a branch office in India and employ at least 100 people specializing in game development, business, and esports. This can be the company’s first step to set-up in India for the long haul. These investments will also largely contribute to the upcoming PUBG Mobile esports league in the country. This will be the first and biggest PUBG Mobile tournament with a league structure exclusively formatted for India.

Krafton seemingly has big plans for the country and even though the entire roadmap of this large amount of investment is not clarified, the commitment itself can be considered as a testament to a bright future of PUBG Mobile in India.

Dell Is Selling Its ‘Inspiron 15’ Model For $15mn

0

Dell UK’s online store is offering a variant of its $600 laptop at $5mn. It is correct. Dell Inspiron 15 model 3000 which is originally priced at $600 for a default black model is priced at £12,000,558.98.

The machine which carries an i5-1135G7 4.2 GHz processor, 8 GB Ram, & 256 GB SSD is available on its UK’s online portal at this link. The conventional Black color which is regularly priced has a counterpart ‘Soft Mint’ which features this absurd pricing. Strangely, the pricing isn’t this much at other regional sites, including Australia, U.S. Canada, and Europe.

The pricing is just for the UK’s site, which reveals a major glitch.

Looks like Dell’s website developers have a task on their hands considering this link has been live for over 24 hours. Have you got a $15mn spare for your favorite colored laptop?!

Oh crikey! Dell is also offering a £ 19.99 discount offer on purchase of this product!
