Guild esports becomes the first esports franchise to join the London Stock Exchange. This team is co-owned by David Beckham and has successfully completed its public market flotation on the LSE with a market capitalization of $52.3 million.

The esports franchise are now planning to invest their money into branding, recruitment, and expanding their reach into various games such as Rocket League, Fortnite, CSGO and FIFA. Guild esports was launched in June 2020 but has surprisingly done very well since the past couple of months and have even appointed a management team consisting of esports veterans, players and coaches.

The Director of corporate finance at Zeus Capital Jamie Peel said : “The gaming industry has exploded in popularity, with esports quickly becoming a mainstream form of entertainment. This is only expected to accelerate in the coming years, and with a hugely experienced and high-quality management team, the firm has already generated significant investor appetite.”

This brings a boost into the esports industry and tells us that people have now started to take esports seriously and big celebrities as well as investors are now starting to pay close attention.

Many big stars like Michael Jordan who are already investing large amounts into esports are actually helping the industry to grow in terms of players as well as investors.
