Doublelift announces retirement from League of Legends

0

Professional LoL player and legend Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng announced his retirement from the game on Twitter. The TwitLonger post stated that he “ felt deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a career out of the one thing in life I have loved above all else.”

Regarded as one of the best players of NA, Doublelift started his career with CLG in 2011. While initially struggling with performances, he quickly rose through the ranks to be one of the hottest prospects in the NA scene. Having finally tasted his first success by winning the LCS in 2015, he shifted to TSM, where he really started flourishing with 2 more titles.

After 3 solid years at TSM, he left to join Team Liquid, where he had arguably his greatest and most dominant spell. At Liquid he won 4 more titles taking his tally to 7 and etching himself in history as the most successful LoL player.

After a disastrous 2020, he rejoined TSM, and although he won another LCS with them, ultimately the team’s overall poor performance meant that he decided to retire completely.

Doublelift will find himself in the history books as one of the best and most successful players in NA LOL history. The question now arises for TSM on how they will fill the ADC void left by him.

When I was 17, I qualified for the Season 1 World Championship in Sweden. It was my very first tournament, and I had to convince my parents that I wasn’t going to have my organs harvested there. The prize pool was miniscule, the crowd was 30 people, and the matches were played on tiny laptops. When I sat down to play my first match, I felt a fire in my heart that drove me to chase the dream of becoming a pro player and being the best.

To nobody’s surprise, before I was a pro I was quite nerdy and unpopular. The best way to get through a day of school without being bullied was to keep my head down and stay inconspicuous. I was extremely shy, forgettable, unconfident and unpopular.

Becoming a professional League player was the method in which I came to know myself. It was my rebirth, a chance to be the person I always wanted to be. I wanted to be proud of myself and my hard work, not ashamed of my passion for gaming. I wanted to be bold, confident, and popular. I wanted to be a pro player who stands out incongruously, someone who speaks his mind and is “real”. It makes me happy to know I’ve let the fans see me transparently for 10 years – all my strengths and weaknesses, successes and failures. I hope both my passion for self-improvement and desire to win showed in my gameplay and behavior. I expressed myself in the only way I knew how, through League, and it shaped who I am today.

In the beginning, I lost over and over. Once, I was a single game away from being relegated. Every thread had /r/doubleliftstrophycase memes in it. I was mocked about being better on the analyst desk than in-game. My playstyle would never work, they said I was too greedy in a game that demands teamwork. For 5 years, I practiced 14 hours a day and lost every important match. Then I finally won my first LCS championship. Today, I’ve won 8 of the last 11 splits. Hard work and determination paid off. I’m fully aware of the irony of saying that in my retirement post. I’d like to have been able to say I won Worlds (or even just made it to quarters), but let’s just have the rookies take up the torch on that one.

I am extremely fortunate to have played professional League for over a decade, literally over a third of my life. To have been able to play alongside truly great players, coaches, and staff, who propelled me to greater levels. To have a huge fanbase who cares about and supports me, many of them so much that they feel my happiness in victories and pain in losses. I feel deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a career out of the one thing in life I have loved above all else. I traveled the world, made unforgettable memories, played in front of huge crowds, and saw my dreams come true. All of it was possible because I had the support of the fans and community.

Thank you for watching me grow from a hopeless kid into a successful adult. I’ll be starting a new chapter of life now, and I’d like your support in that too.

Everything you need to know about the New CSGO operation

Update: New CSGO Operation Broken Fang announced

Following a long wait of the CSGO community since the conclusion of Operation Shattered Web, it looks like the competitive shooter is about to receive its next operation. Recent leaks from several sources have confirmed that the tenth CSGO operation is about to arrive in the next few weeks, and fans are more excited than ever.

With the tenth operation right around the corner, CSGO players are growing eager to know what the upcoming operation has in store for them. If you’re curious about the features the new operation will bring to the table, you’re in the right place.

Here’s everything that you need to know about the tenth CSGO operation:

CSGO New Operation

Leaks

The series of speculations initially started a few weeks ago when CSGO received a tiny update including a bunch of small translations and changes to item descriptions. Generally, these sorts of small updates are followed by bigger ones like a new operation. The same thing happened before Operation Shattered Web, which arrived in November 2019.

On November 7th, Dutch CSGO skin maker and level designer Julien ‘Hollandje’ Heesterman noticed a pattern between the small entries in the game database introduced a day before Operation Shattered Web and the entries it received on the previous update. He shared his observations through a tweet.

These speculations were further fueled by Norse, who claimed on Twitter that the next operation is “confirmed” and “will be released really soon.” He further said that he got the information confirmed days ago but chose to remain silent about it.

Finally, YouTuber VNN Tyler explained the list of new additions that we might be getting in the upcoming Operation. Here are the changes you can expect in the upcoming update:

  1. 1v1 Versus Mode: According to VNN Tyler, the update may introduce a new 1v1 game mode with the next operation. Considering the fact that the 2v2 Wingman mode was originally introduced through Operation Hydra, this is quite possible.
  1. New Danger Zone map ‘Frostbite’: The tenth operation is expected to be based around snow. The presence of a new Danger Zone map ‘Frostbite’ has already been found in the game files, which indicates that this map can arrive in the next update as a part of the operation. According to Tyler, this is “the most impressive Danger Zone map” he has ever seen.
  1. Remakes to the existing maps Office and Mirage: Leaks suggest that these two classic maps might be getting a major remake alongside the introduction of the new operation in the next update.
  1. New Danger Zone Utility – ‘Tripwire’: A new Danger Zone utility ‘Tripwire’ has been found in the game files. It’s unclear what this will do, but it will only be available to use in the Danger Zone mode.
  1. Survival-based ‘Dungeons’: Details on this new game mode are still not available, but it’s set to be a co-operative experience similar to the popular ‘co-op’ maps available to play in the Steam workshop.

PUBG Mobile Global Championship is the pinnacle of PUBG Mobile esports where best of the best gather to represent their region and nations. This tournament has a huge prize pool of $2 Million and finally, the league stage of this event have begun.

A whopping $700,000 prize pool is available for this stage and a total of 24 teams battle it out to win the lion’s share.

Teams from all around the world, including China, have gathered together to fight against one another and the level of competition is very high this time.

The PUBG Mobile tournaments were moved to online mode due to the prevailing pandemic and hence, various teams could not gather in one place for a single tournament.

This was the reason that PUBG Mobile World League – Season Zero was split in to two parts; East and West; but for this event, all major powerhouses are present and hence, a completely new meta has been observed.

The early expectations were that teams like 4AM and XQF will dominate this tournament but it turns out that these teams are having hard time while keeping up with others.

The first two days have been hard for a lot of teams and while some adjusted on the second day, Bigetron Red Aliens had a miraculous run as the team went on to decimate their opponents and climb to the top spot from a rock-bottom 18th position.

In a battle-royale game, maintaining the consistency is the hardest task and Bigetron could be called as masters of this art.

PMGC Day 2 Overall Standings:

Bigetron Red Aliens grabbed three chicken dinners today and claimed the top spot reserved for the champions.

The Western champions lie very close to the Eastern kings as Futbolist ended just 20 points below BTR. The league format for this tournament is very similar to previous one.

Top 16 teams at the end of day two of each week will proceed to play the super-weekend and only the points earnt in the latter half will be counted in the final standings table that will decide the prize pool distribution and grand finals seeding slots.

How to play Nuketown ’84 Zombies in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

0

Nuketown runs inseparably together with COD, with the fabled map flexing a new version in every COD ever since its launch. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War boasts an expansion of Nuketown ’84, another variation of Nuketown. It brings an Onslaught mode for players who enjoy slaughtering Zombies.

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players can approach Nuketown ’84 for the Zombies Onslaught mode as it remains exclusive to Sony as a part of a deal. This implies on the off chance that you are playing on PC, Xbox Series X, or Xbox the Onslaught mode remains a dream. However, Nuketown ’84 will be available across all platforms for players to enjoy.

COD Cold War Nuketown Zombies

“Nuketown ’84 is a fast and frenetic 6v6 map set in a nuclear testing ground modeled on an idyllic American neighborhood.

Although the layout may look familiar to fans of the original Black Ops iteration of Nuketown, this particular location in the Nevada desert has been designated “Site B.” In 1954, Site B was primed for “the big test,” but a last-minute government budget decision decommissioned the site. For 30 years, this Nuketown remained dormant… until in 1984, a group of social misfits travelling through no man’s land discovered the site and made it their home. Decorating the site with graffiti and various junk collected in their travels, they turned this quaint cul-de-sac into a personal desert refuge from a world filled with wars, anxiety, and “The Man.”” – reads COD’s statement on the map.

PlayStation players get to select weapon plans for finishing certain difficulties inside the Onslaught mode. The Onslaught mode can be found inside the Zombies menu, select Zombies Onslaught, and afterward Onslaught Nuketown.

Valorant Error 68: What The Error Code Means And How To Fix It?

0

Following the error code 57, Valorant players face yet another challenge in Error 68. There seems to be no end to these petty problems which keep us from enjoying the game, however, like most Valorant errors, there is yet another simple fix to it. Follow to guide to know how:

VALORANT ERROR CODE 68:

Error code 68 pops up when the client faces a connectivity error. It is more annoying than most as players face this mid-game, which can be often during crucial moments. The client forces you to restart which is fixes the problem in more cases than not. If an actual connection error doesn’t exist, a simple restart will do the trick but if it doesn’t look for alternate fixes.

Server outages might spark this error so check for any unscheduled maintenance or DDOS attacks that lead to a server shutdown. Chances of both are negligible so check for routing issues for ISPs that provide varying IP addresses. Using custom DNS or a proxy is not advised. Check for any antivirus software whose firewall might block the game momentarily.

The only fix validated by Valorant players and Reddit is to restart the game client. A simple restart fixes it for most players; if the issue persists try a reboot.

American man who sued Twitch for $25mn over “sexual content” denied by court

0

California man Erik Estavillo made it to the headlines back in June when he filed a legal complaint against popular streaming platform Twitch for exposing him and other viewers, some of whom are unferage, to “suggestive” female streamers showing “sexual content” on stream which is otherwise against the Twitch ToS.

In his complaint, Estavillo claimed to be suffering from “depression, OCD, panic disorder, Agoraphobia and Crohn’s disease.” He also claimed to suffer from sex addiction, which, according to him is a result of his OCD. These medical issues make him rely solely on the internet for his entertainment and according to the complaint, Twitch had “extremely exacerbated” his medical conditions “by displaying many sexually suggestive women streamers through Twitch’s twisted programming and net code.”

The complaint listed some female streamers who, according to Estavillo, violated the Twitch ToS by showing “sexual content” on stream. He also attached some “sexual” images of those streamers taken from their streams and social media handles. The list of female streamers include:

  • Amouranth
  • Quqco
  • ST Peach
  • JadeTheJaguar
  • Pink_Sparkles
  • Valeria7K
  • DanielaAzuage_
  • lilchipmunk
  • iaaras2
  • theRaychul
  • KrystiPryde
  • SonjaShio
  • Gavrilka
  • MizzyRose
  • KayPikeFashion
  • Alinity
  • QTCinderella
  • Pokimane
  • Velvet_7
  • Loserfruit

As compensation, Estavillo demanded a sum of $25,000,000 from the streaming platform. He wanted the money to be distributed between him and other Twitch Prime subscribers with the leftovers going to COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter charities.

After the news surfaced, many were in doubt on how far this absurd lawsuit would proceed when brought to the court. Now, it seems like we have our answer – not very far.

In a tentative ruling by the court, the judge denies Estavillo’s claim against Twitch. “Plaintiff’s complaint fails to identify or state any cognizable claim or cause of action under California law,” the ruling states.”The ‘exhibits’ submitted by Plaintiff with his opposition also do not identify, much less support, any claims under California law.“

The judge also accepted the motion made by the Twitch lawyers to dismiss the case. Furthermore, Estavillo can’t choose to pursue this case further or bring this case back to the court, as stated by the judge.

However, according to some reports, Estavillo has said that he plans to appeal this ruling to the 6th District Court of Appeals. It’s unclear if the results will be any different, though.

PUBG Mobile India App given advanced clearance for Google Play Store

The standalone PUBG Mobile India app seems to have been given advanced clearance on Google Play Store. At least this is what GEM Esports are claiming. According to their sources, the Play Store review team has been notified and advised not to hold the application in the review phase, which means it will likely be cleared as soon as it reaches the review team.

The report does iterate that this does not, in any size, shape or form, hint towards a potential date for the release and appearance of the application on the Play Store. It merely relates to the internal process that is carried out by the Play Store review team and the notification they have reportedly received.

Interestingly, they claim a similar notice was issued on November 13, 2020 before reneging on the same.

Valorant Error 57: What The Error Code Means And How To Fix It?

0

Riot’s tactical shooter Valorant have had its fair share of problems, given the fact it’s their first time developing a 5v5 FPS game. A problem plaguing the game recently is the Error: 57. Riot has assigned a number to a wide array of problems to help them narrow down the search for the bug, thereby every number has a specified area where Riot will look to fix the error. Follow this guide to fix it:

Valorant error code 57:

Error code 57 is associated with ‘PlayerAffinityInitFailure, which occurs when players fire up the game. There is no permanent fix as of yet, and players are likely to face it every time they launch the Riot client. The simplest solution is to restart the Riot client, but if the problem seems to persist, rebooting the system after closing Riot’s vanguard is another way to deal with it.

The aforementioned two methods are likely to fix the problem and if they don’t; players are only left with only one way which leads to reinstalling both the game and the client. However, uninstalling only Vanguard might suffice as after relaunching the game client, it will install vanguard before asking for a reboot.

If all three methods fail, the issue will persist unless Riot blesses us with a fix, which is far-fetched as this error remains unsolved more quite a while. Putting up this issue to Riot support or Valorant subreddit might get enough attention for Riot to push an update.

UK Based Scalper Group Buys 3500 PS5 Consoles With Retail Bots

0

With Sony’s newly released console – the PlayStation 5 – being in short supply right now, aspiring buyers are having a difficult time getting their hands on one. However, what’s really hindering these buyers’ attempts to get a PS5 might be the plethora of retail bots flooding the online marketplace to buy the console as soon as they restock.

According to a Business Insider report, a UK-based scalper group called CrepChiefNotify claims to have bought 3,500 copies of the PS5 till now. The group bought 2500 PS5s on launch day and another 1000 when pre-orders went live.

It’s not an isolated incident either. Since the release of PS5, there have been multiple reports about resellers using bots to scout out hundreds of copies at retail price and later selling them on third-party websites like ebay for up to double the value.

The group includes thousands of members who need to pay a subscription charge to gain access to their software. CrepChiefNotify alerts users whenever a selected product is restocked and enables them to check out the products without waiting in any virtual queues.

The bots flooding the online markets are posing a serious threat to legitimate buyers who are finding it difficult to check out the PS5 before the bots. It’s also forcing a lot of buyers to look for the products on reselling websites where the prices are generally unreasonably high.
