Valorant Patch 3.01: What’s New?

0

After the massive 3.0 patch that laid a huge impact on the existent Valorant meta was introduced two weeks ago, it seems like Riot Games has decided to take things slow in the following patch 3.01 that has hit the live servers on July 7th. The newly introduced Valorant patch 3.01 aims to fix several annoying bugs that have been haunting the player base since the launch of Episode 3.

For starters, the Account Leveling issue that caused many players to get lower Account levels than intended has been fixed. Affected players’ levels should now be corrected and the Account Points (AP) they gained while playing on the incorrect levels will be carried over.

Some of the Agent fixes implemented through this update include the bug that allowed Skye to activate the flash of Guiding Light while suppressed and KAY/O’s ability to heal while downed in NULL/CMD. Also, Sage can no longer place Barrier Orb on some projectiles while they’re mid-air.

Other than that, a nasty bug that allowed players to abuse text chat colors to impersonate system messages has also been fixed.

Players can take a look at the detailed patch notes on the official website here

0

Sony has announced a 30-minute showcase featuring indie and third-party titles. Arkane Studios’ Deathloop will be the main focus of this broadcast where we’ll get to see “a nine-minute look at Deathloop’s time-twisted world as part of a new State of Play” and that “we’ll see Colt use his abilities to stealthily skulk across rooftops… or go in guns blazing to create a whole lot of mayhem.”

Deathloop is set to release on September 14, 2021, on PC and exclusively on PlayStation 5 although the developers behind Deathloop, Arkane Studios, are now a part of the Xbox family.

Sony has explicitly stated that this State of Play “will not include updates on the next God of War, Horizon Forbidden West or the next generation of PlayStation VR.” and players should expect more updates in the foreseeable future.

State of Play will stream at 2PM Pacific / 5PM Eastern / 11PM CEST, on PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.

Gamers recreate real-size model of the Taj Mahal in Minecraft

0

A group of gamers has recreated an exact replica model of the Taj Mahal in Minecraft in a 1:1 ratio. The team has achieved this feat without actually visiting the monument and they worked on this project with references taken from the internet. This impressive model was built in three months.

Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the world and a well-known piece of history and Indian culture. This Taj Mahal model belongs to a bigger project undertaken by some Minecraft players from around the world. This project is called “Build the Earth” and its goal is to replicate the entire world in Minecraft. Several teams from around the world actively work on this project to build remarkable objects in the game.

One of the important aspects of this project is that they have a mission of building the replica to a 1:1 scale. This means that actual measurements of any object are used to build a model. This project was pioneered by PippenFTS and his mods who created a YouTube video that kickstarted this project. The team uses Dymaxion projection to keep distortion low and preserve the scale of the objects.

The Taj Mahal model was built in a period of three months and its references were taken from Maps and Google Earth. Data that is available on the internet was used to acquire the dimensions and build this project. None of the members from this team have actually visited the site, according to the Fossbyte report.

Minecraft players can participate in this project and help the team build different structures by visiting their website. The enrollment is open-for-all and players can simply pick an area and start building. This is certainly a grand project and an important monument from India has been covered by the team in its early stages.

New CSGO Update Adds Competitive Matchmaking Presets, Stability Improvements & More

A new update has been shipped to the competitive shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and it seems to contain a bunch of quality of life changes for the players to enjoy.

For starters, Valve has added an option to set presets for competitive matchmaking. Moving forward, players will be able to save and load their favorite map selections based on what they want to play. Furthermore, players will also be able to queue for Premier matchmaking alongside other competitive maps.

As a new measure to curb the number of cheaters in the title, a link to the CSGO Fair Play Guidelines has been added on official servers. This may potentially imply that the devs are planning to take more drastic measures to counter cheaters, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Other than that, the new update also introduced some stability improvements and fixed a nasty wall bang bug that some players were experiencing on Inferno.

You can read the detailed patch notes on the official CSGO blog here.

MATCHMAKING

  • Premier matchmaking can now be selected together with other competitive maps.
  • Added competitive matchmaking presets and the ability to save/load favorite map selections.
  • Added a link to CSGO Fair Play Guidelines when playing on official game servers.

MISC

  • Bullet penetration check will ignore the firing player model entirely.
  • Fixed bot difficulty selector to correctly apply for offline with bots War Games matches.
  • Stability improvements.

Tencent introduces Facial Recognition to monitor minor gamers

0

In a rather most controversial thing coming from China, Tencent, its global internet giant has revealed a new installation. The new feature is apparently to curb overplaying kids and teenagers by the use of a facial recognition system.

The program, called Midnight Patrol, will be in place from 10 PM to 8 AM to deduct kids, posing as adults.

“We will conduct a face screening for accounts registered with real names and that have played for a certain period of time at night, “Anyone who refuses or fails the face verification will be treated as a minor, and as outlined in the anti-addiction supervision of Tencent’s game health system, and kicked offline, said Tencent (via SixthTone).

The program will go live this Tuesday, where the data, linked to the public security system will scrape the people playing games online. Anyone found not in allegiance to this regulation will be immediately kicked out of the game.

Tencent will initially deploy the screening layer for over 60 popular games, including Honors of Kings & Game for Peace.

“Facial recognition is a welcome sign because real-name verifications cannot keep kids out of the games,” said Chen Lina, an accounting executive.

WeChat though is full of criticism from the Chinese gaming community, who are raising concerns on the growing limitations on internet users.

Lebron James is coming to Fortnite

Fortnite will be introducing the 17 time NBA all-star, LeBron James, in the next Icon series skin in the upcoming updates, according to the leaks. ShiinaBR and HYPEX, two of the most trusted Fortnite data miners, recently said that James will be joining Fortnite.

This will also enable the players to earn rewards by completing quests which will also include items that ‘become more gold’ as the players complete their quests. Lebron James will be starring in Space Jam: A New Legacy, which will be coming to the theatres and HBO Max on 16 July. This means that the skin is likely joining the game to help promote the film.

This is not the first time that the fans are seeing a Crossover in Fortnite, the game has already included superstars like:- Travis Scott, Marshmello,  Major Lazer, Ninja, TheGrefg, LazarBeam, and Lachlan. Fortnite has already covered all 30 teams in the NBA and has released their outfits in the in-game store earlier this year.

Lebron James’ son, Bronny James is an upcoming NCAA basketball prospect and also has a strong connection to the Gaming industry. He has already signed a contract with FaZe Clan last summer under the moniker FaZe Bronny.
