PGL on Twitter have announced that they will be hosting the first ever major of Counter Strike 2 in March 2024. This will be the first S-tier Valve Sponsored event of the newest iteration of Counter-Strike.

Counter-Strike 2 has finally been revealed by Valve after several weeks of speculation around the same.

Valve had earlier announced the cancellation of the second Major of 2023. The tournament, which was scheduled for November 2023, has been scrapped to give way to the upcoming release of Counter-Strike 2.

The BLAST.tv Paris Major, which will run from May 8 to May 21, 2023, will be the last Major of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The next Major in the world of Counter-Strike will be hosted by PGL and will be held in Denmark. The said event is set to take place between March 17-31 of 2024 at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen.

The highly anticipated “Counter-Strike 2” is set to make its debut with a limited test having started earlier in this month. The game promises a complete overhaul to every system and every piece of content, bringing with it the largest technical leap forward in the history of the franchise.

Counter-Strike 2 would be released this summer alongside a promise of an “overhaul to every system, every piece of content, and every part of the experience.”

Valve’s decision to cancel the second Major of 2023 in CSGO did raise some concerns in the community but yet were supportive of the decision made by the former as teams and players would need to work on their strategies and get used to this newer version of the game.
