6666 CS2 Roster Leaves Over Match-Fixing Allegations and Unpaid Salaries

The entire CS2 roster of 6666 has parted ways with the organization over unpaid salaries, match-fixing and threats to careers, according to reports. Following a promising competitive run, the roster is looking for a new home, having cut all ties to the Ukrainian organization.

6666 Players Allege Match-Fixing Request

Oleksandr “kL1o” Zakharchuk has levelled serious allegations against 6666 leadership, claiming that the roster was asked to fix matches. Refusing to aid in manipulating results, players received a phone call that attempted to dismiss the prior request as a form of integrity test. This not only suggests untoward behaviour but also calls the integrity of the organization into question.

Unpaid Salaries and Financial Disputes

In addition to the match-fixing allegations, players further explain that they were subjected to financial irregularities. According to kL1o, the organization is yet to reimburse their travel expenses while withholding salaries for October. 6666 has also received the prize money from its tournament in Portugal, but the players are deprived of their share.

To further push the players out, 6666 did not provide formal contracts, which suggests their methods are highly questionable. Despite threats to players, the lack of a formal contract has allowed them to get out of the organization, which leaves them without backing but protects their future.

Former 6666 Roster Searches for a New Team

Leaving the organization has left the five players without a home, and finding one will be extremely difficult for a nascent squad. The departing lineup of amster, kL1o, rendysky, skcH, and stefienson has a few promising performances to boast, but that is unlikely to get them contracts, especially close to the end of the competitive season.

The story of 6666 will serve as a cautionary tale to the many who aspire to be professional CS2 players. While the competitive scene has given us tons of memorable moments, its glory is far from untouched by such scrutiny.
