IEM Beijing 2026 Day 2 saw some big names head home as we get the finalists for the bracket final. With the likes of FaZe, 9Z, and G2 out of the way, several teams will have their path cleared for them to make a smooth run at the event.
PARIVISION clean sweep Liquid
Liquid’s confident opening day streak came to a shocking end as PARIVISION continued their domination with a 2-0 win. The first match of the day saw the American side play chase and remain on the back foot for back-to-back maps. While cutting the first halves close, the second halves proved too much for Liqud to handle, leaving PARIVISION with back-to-back wins under their belt.
Aurora survives at the cost of G2
A dominant start on the offence of Nuke gave them the headroom to sweep G2 in the opening map of the series. While G2 managed to hit back in the following map, Aurora stood the test of resilience as both teams pushed the final map to OT. Being inseparable in regulation, Aurora pulled ahead in OT to close the series with a 2-1 scoreline and progress further in the lower bracket.
TYLOO eliminate 9Z
Following a loss on their home soil, TYLOO kept themselves alive at the event at the cost of 9Z. The South American side dropped the ball in the opening map, handing TYLOO the much-needed early lead. The second map saw them push to OT after making a comeback from a 10-2 deficit, but they failed to keep the momentum up after 30 rounds. TYLOO, despite getting tested, came out on top with a 16-13 win.
MOUZ outlasts BetBoom
The two top performers from the opening day clashed for the Upper Bracket final spot, only for MOUZ to come out on top. A convincing first map followed by a close second made up for one of the most exciting matches of the day, but as MOUZ head to the next round with a 2-0 win, BetBoom will continue their run from the Lower Bracket.
Falcons stay alive
13-2 domination in the opening map gave Falcons their first map win of the event. FaZe hit back immediately in the following map as they pushed Falcons on Anubis, taking us to the final map of the series. While FaZe kept the scoreline level by the end of the first half, Falcons, at an individual level, were just too good for them as they continued in Beijing at the cost of FaZe.
MongolZ take down HEROIC
MongolZ stood out in the opening map as HEROIC’s offence failed to get past MongolZ’s CT side, leading to an early lead for the Asian side. HEROIC posed a stronger challenge in the second map as MongolZ barely managed to push the game to OT. With regulation and one OT failing to separate them, the second OT is where MongolZ pulled ahead with a tight 19-17 win.
FURIA stun NAVI
Ancient being NAVI’s home ground, the opening map gave us a close tie, only for NAVI to take the early lead in overtime. Following a crushing defeat, FURIA managed to edge out with a tight scoreline, having made a successful comeback to push the game to OT. The final map saw FURIA take an 8-4 lead in the first half, which gave them all the room to close out the series, sending NAVI to the lower bracket.
Legacy vs B8
Being a test of survival, Legacy and B8 managed to keep the game close for the better part of the entirety of the opening map, only for the EU side to edge out with a 13-11 scoreline. Legacy levelled the scoreline with a 13-6 performance on Cache, taking us to the final map of the day. A 9-3 start for B8 gave them enough headroom to push the series over the line and stay alive as the Brazilians got knocked out.
