The Perfect World CS2 Shanghai Major is set to kick off in November and will be the second major of CS2 and 2024.

Major is the ultimate prize of any CS player and it has been this way since its inception. While other tournaments could rival the Majors in terms of hype or prize pool, the unique celebration of CS, that is the Major has always set itself apart as a final step to cement your legacy as a player.

Majors bring together the top teams from every region with the best player to compete for the most prestigious CS trophy and a staggering prize pool that goes upwards of a million dollars.

Vavle’s Chinese partners, namely Perfect World are set to host the second major of 2024 in Shanghai and between now and then, we can expect the RMRs to take place for teams to book their spot at the Major later this year.

The RMRs and the Play-in stage will decide the 16 teams that will make it to the big event where they will compete for a prize pool of $1,250,000. The tournament will be divided into two stages upon the conclusion of the RMRs.

The qualification process has remained more or less unaltered except for minor changes that may hurt the lesser-known teams and slots have been distributed so that every region gets fair representation in Shanghai. While North America and LATAM are suffering compared to the EU more than ever, Asia has been on a steady rise with teams like The MongolZ taking a few scalps at big events.

Fans have expressed their concerns over an experienced organiser, i.e. Perfect World but they would be up for fixing their reputation after their debacle hosting a Dota Major in the past.
