NiP players denied Visa to travel Japan for finals of Rainbow Six Pro League

Just as the Ninjaโ€™s were set to travel Japan for Rainbow Six Pro League, 2 players from the team i.e. Joรฃo โ€œKamikazeโ€ Gomes and Julio โ€œJULIOโ€ Giacomelli were denied visas in the morning. Along with the players, the team coach Arthur โ€œAr7thurโ€ Schubert also faced visa issues.

The issue raised due to ESL backing out from securing player visas and shifting the responsibility on the teams to apply for visas just days before they had to begin traveling to Japan. Since the timing was so sudden many teams faced issues to secure visas in time.

Prior to NiP, last week Faze also faced issue when one of their player, Ronaldo โ€œionโ€ Osawa  was denied visa after a last ditch effort. This resulted in talks of unionization among the teams against ESLโ€™s alleged failure to secure Visas on time.

Although, NiP still have a small chance of making it to Japan on time. Both JULIO and Kamikaze might be able to get their visas by visiting the consulate in Curitiba, according to team manager Bob. As for coach Ar7thur, he wonโ€™t be able to make it.

If this last ditch effort fails, then the Latin American divisionโ€™s presence will fall significantly and with only 2 representatives from each division remaining, the Latin American Division will be handicapped.

The season 10 finale of Rainbow Six Pro League takes place this weekend on Nov 9 to 10 in Japan and the winner stands a chance to win $626,000 in the prize pool.

Apple rumoured to partner with Valve for developing an AR headset

1

According to a report from Digitimes, Apple has partnered with Valve to develop anย AR headsetย withย head-mounted display, something similar to Valveโ€™sย current VR headset. Further the report also claims that the Headset might be released as early asย inย second half of 2020.

Previously many reports had pointed out about presence of codes in XCode 11 and iOS 13 for Appleโ€™s alleged AR headset. The code was found buried deep in latest update of iOS which could also mean that company was currently testing out new tech secretly.

Appleโ€™s CEO Tim Cook has already predicted AR to be as pervasive as smartphones and โ€œeating three meals a dayโ€.

With the rise in popularity of AR games such as Pokรฉmon GO and upcoming Minecraft Earth, many brands are looking to get into AR business. One of these brands is Oculus, which is owned by Facebook. Facebook have also expressed its interest in AR technology and have invested heavily in the tech already. Similarly, Microsoft and Google have also shown renders for their devices with videos of working prototypes.

This partnership between Valve and Apple might seem weird to some, but we should remember that Valve is heavily invested in VR and also have a product called Valve Index in the market, which many reviewers claim as one-of-the best implementation of VR. As Apple is already late to the AR party, partnering with an experienced player might help them in developing their first headset faster.

Valve and Apple have yet to comment on the report, so take this report with a grain of salt for now and wait for update.

CSGO: IEM says it will penalize ingame suicides

ESL is one of the biggest Esports organizers around the world, well known for hosting events like ESL One, ESL Pro League and Co-hosting Intel Extreme Masters. On 4th November they made a change in their rule book which a lot of fans and players are unhappy with.

The new addition to the book says โ€œA player is not allowed to intentionally cause self-elimination of their player character. This includes using the /kill command or using map features to deny kills to the opposing team.โ€

Such a rule is harmful for the tactical aspect of the game, as suicides of player models are often done in the pro matches to avoid assisting the opposite in farming some free cash or to prevent them from taking weapons with them into the next round. Fans are claiming this rule to be unspecific as it does not say if self eliminations are only taken into account or team kills also count.

ESL are yet to comment on this matter but apparently, IEM Beijing is set to kick off in two days and players are to play under the last updated guidelines. This installment of IEM will feature the likes of FaZe, Astralis ENCE and a familiar prize pool of $250000.

FIFA Esports player gets banned permanently for spitting on EA logo

1

Kurt0411, a professional FIFA esports player and streamer has been permanently banned after exhibiting inappropriate behavior by spitting on EA Games’ logo. Kurt posted a series of videos on his Youtube channel criticizing EA Games, its employees as well as the company’s overall way of functioning. Things went overboard when during a Twitch stream, Kurt bombarded EA with cuss words and went on to spit multiple times on a scarf with EA’s logo on it.

Kurt was playing a match against HSV Esports’ Nheisen where he managed to claim victory in the final minutes of the match which motivated him to brag his victory to the viewers. DrJarba, another Twitch streamer managed to capture the moment and uploaded it on twitter condemning Kurt’s action and commenting that the ban was rightfully served. Kurt snapped back at DrJarba saying that โ€œThose 50 seconds are better than your whole streaming careerโ€.

Kurt posted an apology on his Twitter trying to explain why he behaved that way but the apology was not serving its purpose. He went on to thrash EA Games further saying that the reason he is being banned from competing at esports events is because the company is scared that he will say something about FIFA 20 being a “broken game”. Instead of contemplating his actions, Kurt worsened things through this apology where he completely missed the meaning of the word ‘sorry’.

EA released a statement stating the exact terms of Kurt’s ban and contemplating his actions calling his behavior as “smack talk”. They also revealed that Kurt had been warned on various past instances about his toxic behaviour with a final warning given on 25 March 2019. Here’s the complete statement:

This exact kind of obnoxious behaviour haunts the gaming industry but with strict actions against violators of a simple code of conduct, which ensures a healthy gaming environment for everyone is probably the best solution to tackle this prolonged issue.

U.S. Army to use competitive esports as recruitment tool

2

With the rise in popularity of esports the global audience ofesports is more than 350 million which is expected to grow to more than 450 million by the end of this year. Today esports is a global phenomenon and a potential market of large number of recruits.

Yes, by recruits we mean potential soldiers of future, atleast thatโ€™s what the U.S. Army thinks.

Last year the U.S. Army launched a pilot project where they tried out more than 6500 active and reserve soldiers for the Official Army Esports Team. Out of all the candidates the Army picked 16 candidates for its Esports team.

This year the Army also purchased an 18 wheel trailer filled with high tech gaming accessories and equipments for immersive gaming experience. The trailer was recently featured at the Association of the U.S. Army conference held in Washington.

The reason for the Army to form an Esports team is to look out for potential recruits for Army among the esports audience. Since esports is on rise and can be accessed anywhere at anytime the reach will be far greater which might interest players to join the Army.

โ€œWe are a competitive gaming team, and weโ€™re in direct support of the recruiting effortโ€ said Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Jones, the noncommissioned officer in charge of the Army esports squad.

โ€œIโ€™ve been an avid World of Warcraft player for over 15 years โ€” before I got into the Army. And Iโ€™ve been playing since Iโ€™ve been in the Army. Weโ€™re telling the story behind the uniform. Weโ€™re gamers just like everyone else. We just have a different chosen profession.โ€

Nintendo Switch on its way to become fastest selling handheld worldwide with more than 41 Million units sold Worldwide in just 2 years

11

In Nintendoโ€™s 3rd quarter earnings the company revealed that the sales of Nintendo Switch Family were increasing yearly and this quarter alone 4.8 million units were sold, a year-on-year rise of over 50%.

The company recently launched a cheaper version of Switch named Nintendo Switch Lite which can be credited for increase in sales. Adding the current numbers with the past sale numbers, the Switch Family have sold more than 41.67 million units worldwide since its launch in 2017.

In the report Nintendoโ€™s Chief Executive Shuntaro Furukawa said that the Lite was drawing both existing Switch owners who wanted a second or third device for the family and new users who didnโ€™t want to pay $300 for a regular Switch.

The Switch family is on its way to overtake the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System, 1990) which sold close to 49 million units in its lifetime. With the upcoming holiday season and availability of a cheaper version, the sales of the Switch family are expected to rise significantly and easily dethrone SNES.

Switch is a commercial success for the company, with the Switch selling faster than other handhelds of this generation and to keep the system attractive for potential customers the company also have plans to rework and release old games that are only available on old platforms such as 3DS.

Starting with the release of entries from the Pokรฉmon franchise as soon as next month. Pokรฉmon franchise is one of the most successful IP that Nintendo holds and releasing games of the series will help boost the sales of Switch family specially the Lite version.

FaZe Jarvis permanently banned by Epic for using aimbot in Fortnite

29

The rampant spread of hacking in multiplayer games have plagued games for years. Even after adopting strict policies and anticheat measures it becomes difficult for gamedevelopers to keep games cheat free.

Recently, Epic games issued a permanent ban to a Pro-Fortnite player โ€œFaze Jarvisโ€ for using aimbot on his second account to play solos and playground mode of the game. Since using cheats is directly against the company policy, he was immediately handed a perma-ban which restricts him to compete in any professional tournaments and events forever.

Since the news of Jarvis getting banned broke out, Jarvis himself came forward and published a video explaining why he was banned and apologized to the community.

Since he used cheats in multiplayer modes against real players, it broke Epicโ€™s TOS and resulted him getting perma-banned.

The Fortnite community seems to leaning on both side of the coin right, with people calling Epic out for โ€œHarshโ€ action on his first offense, while the other side praising Epic on banning the player and setting an example of โ€œno-toleranceโ€ policy against hackers.
