Call of Duty streamer accidentally reveals cheats during live stream, channel gets deleted

0

The cheater problem in Call of Duty: Warzone keeps getting worse as more and more cheaters are infesting the game, bypassing its anti-cheat system. However, the problem escalates further when these types of cheaters take it to streaming platforms like Twitch in attempts to raise their viewership by a display of “skills”.

Twitch streamer MrGolds found himself amid serious controversies when he was caught red-handed by his viewers while using cheats for Warzone.

Twitter user ERA7E captured the incident and shared it through a tweet, demanding for MrGolds to be banned for cheating. The clip shows MrGolds trying to defend himself after viewers suspected him of cheating.

“I play, and I look at the chat, and it’s like, what’s going on? You know what I’m saying? What’s going on, guys? Have you ever seen anyone play like me?” MrGolds says during the clip.

However, his viewers could see an EngineOwning tab running on his computer, which proved the fact that he was cheating. EngineOwning is a service that provides cheats for various games including Call of Duty.

Twitch was swift to take action on this matter, as the Twitch channel of MrGolds was deleted shortly after. The guidelines of Twitch strictly prohibit cheating in any form or in any game, which MrGolds had to learn the hard way.

GeT_RiGhT says he gets “death threats” from the community

Christopher ‘GeT_RiGhT’ Alesund is a veteran in the professional CS:GO circuit. Currently playing for Dignitas, the player reveals that he “still gets death threats” from the community.

GeT_RiGhT is recognised as one of the best CSGO players in the world but the status hasn’t been stable recently. After getting signed by Dignitas, the player has been receiving hateful comments and death threats, as he reveals in an interview.

GeT_RiGhT and his team recently returned from vacation to return back to their practice regimen. The official Dignitas interview was supposed to reveal the insights about team’s future performance but the player’s comments about death threats caught an eye of the CS:GO community.

When the interviewer asked GeT_RiGhT to respond on people marking them as “the team that got together to have a comfortable way of retiring”, the player makes some shocking revelation.

GeT_RiGhT states that he does not feel offended by people saying such things but there are other bigger issues. He says, “The worst thing is that I still get death threats, I get people calling my mother out and other stupid shit that I should die.”

He further mentions that its okay for people to have their opinions but the entire thing is taking a toll on him and everyone gets “a bit angry” after hearing such comments.

GeT_RiGhT aslo says that when the team was formed, they knew it was going to be a struggle and “it was going to be a long and tough run”. According to him, the team was not formed “just take a paycheck” but their ultimate goal is “to improve, become better and have an opportunity to play in a big tournament, perform well and win it.”

Although the player believes in contrast of opinions, the hateful messages still take a toll on him. GeT_RiGhT ends the interview on a good note thanking the fans for being supportive and saying “we’re not here to just have fun. We are here to compete and show the fans that we still got it!”

The team will be practicing in teir one and teir two tournaments as the squad wants to change their mindset and play more official tournaments rather than major qualifiers and other big events like BLAST events and Dreamhack.

Ubisoft China launches coffee cup with handle on the inside, apologizes later

0

Partnering up with the Chinese clothing company Sheepedia, Ubisoft China recently launched a coffee mug which looked rather unusual. The handle on the cup was located on the inside of the cup rather than the outside like a regular cup.

Soon after the release of the cup, it was termed as a manufacturing defect and was pulled off from the market.

Twitter personality Danial Ahmad said through a tweet that the company issued an apology claiming there was a “bug” in the production process.

However, the possibility that the incident was a clever marketing strategy rather than a “bug” can’t be eliminated. Danial mentioned this in a follow-up tweet which included pictures from the previous announcements of the collab between the two companies.

This “bug” seems to have received an overwhelming response from the audience, who wanted to buy the mug which was pulled off from the market. Sheepedia is reportedly working with Ubisoft China and the French Headquarters to see if they can sell the cups or give them away.

If this was indeed a manufacturing defect, it turned out to be hilarious; and if this was a marketing plan all along, then it was truly a clever one.

“Esports deserves to be recognized as an official sport as it implies skills, agility and strategy, some of the most important tools of any sports athlete”, says Daily Chairman of PB ESI during the same conference.

Esports has already been included into international multi-sports tournaments like 2018 Asain Games where League of Legends, StarCraft II and Clash Royale was played as demonstration sports. Later in 2019, SEA Games included esports in the medal events for the first time.

PUBG Mobile esports director: “We want to compete with League of Legends and CS:GO”

0

PUBG Mobile is a flourishing esports title which is flying high since the very start. In their three year journey, the game has gained millions of fans worldwide and established a well-developed esports scene around this incredible battle-royale game. During an interview with Ginx Esports, the PUBG Mobile Esports director James Yang clarified their plans to compete with the leading esports titles like League of Legends and CSGO and even aim to become not only the best mobile esports title, but the number one esports title in the world.

How big is PUBG Mobile Esports?

PUBG Mobile Esports scene can be underestimated if you are not familiar with the mobile esports genre but looking at the numbers generated, the picture becomes very clear. PUBG Mobile has been steadily rising their prize pool bar. Esports scene for this game started with PMSC 2018 where $600,000 were up for grab and climbing steadily, they announced their biggest tournament named PMGC 2020 with a whopping $2,000,000 prize pool.

The most recent PUBG Mobile World League broke all the records, bringing in a landmark viewership of 1.1 million concurrent viewers and 40 million total hours watched. Tencent, the parent company, even built a state-of-the-art studio in Katowice,Poland for future LAN tournaments.

PUBG Mobile and mostly any other mobile esports is predominantly based in Asian region, with countries like China, Indonesia and India leading in the competition. As compared to the eastern countries, the European and North American region has not completely accepted the developing mobile esports culture.

The GINX Esports Interview:

Talking about the mobile esports developments in western countries, James Yang said, “We want to make this ecosystem pyramid in other countries with our learning from eastern countries. That’s something we want to do but we also know it takes time”

Specifying the team’s long term goals about building the mobile esports ecosystem in western countries, he adds “Europe, North America… they still, I think, need time to get used to mobile esports or even PUBG Mobile. So we’ll continue to push, we’ll continue to invest to make our own ecosystem in their countries. That’s absolutely an important mission for long term.”

PUBG Mobile Esports Director unveils their goal of becoming the number one esports game and talks about the possible pathway that will help them reach the milestone. “This year our teams has had some discussions of our long-term goals. We make plans for three, five years and we decided to become a tier 1 esport. Not just the number one mobile esport, but already we want to escape from the limitations as a mobile esport.”

He adds, “That is quite challenging but that’s what we’re trying to be. We’re aiming to be not only number mobile esport, but we want to be even maybe number one esports game in the world.”

The team also plans to work to compete with games like League of Legends and CS:GO and “go shoulder-to-shoulder with them or become even bigger” title.

TalkEsport Verdict:

The plans of PUBG Mobile Esports team are very ambitious but to actually compete on the scale of League of Legends is entirely different thing. League has a well established esports history of 10 years and their LOL World Championship brings in fierce competition with millions of dollars of prize pool. The tournaments are even hosted into most prestigious stadiums of the host country and the teams are touring across the country during groups. Teams like T1 and Faker have been the face of LOL Esports for the entire esports industry for a long time.

Similarly, CS:GO carries the legacy of CS 1.6 and Source and has their own well settled esports majors. With various teams securing the top spot over the course of seven years, CS:GO is the most popular First Person Shooter game and there are lots of teams and players who took the competition to utmost pinnacle of CS:GO and emerged out as legends in this game.

If PUBG Mobile is to be compared with these games right now, it is too soon for them to compete to become the best game in esports industry. While they are making steady progress in their Esports scenario, the game is close to become the best mobile esports. This game is known for its bugs and while they are being improved, another thing that stands in their way are cheaters.

There are a fair share of hackers in every game but in this case, the hackers are not only troubling casual players but they are nuisance in the esports industry as well. Recently 20 teams were banned from PMCO South Asian edition for hacking and it was a big disaster for PUBG Mobile Esports with a series of tournament pauses.

Considering all of these factors, PUBG Mobile can certainly become a top contender in the race to become the best mobile esports game but will need a considerable amount of time, atleast for now, to come into the race of becoming the best esports game in the world.
