Fortnite x Dune Collaboration: Leaks and Skins

The American science fiction movie Dune, based on the novel that goes by the same name by Frank Herbert, is about to be released soon. While the movie was released internationally on September 15, 2021, the United States release along with some other parts of the world was scheduled for October 22. 

The movie encompasses the first segment of the Dune novel and has been appreciated by numerous fans and critics. The Fortnite data miners recently extracted the presence of a Fortnite and Dune collaboration with a plethora of new Dune character skins, pickaxes, back bling, gliders, and more being incorporated into the game soon.

Fornite x Dune Cosmetics

Popular Fortnite content creator ‘HYPEX’ recently leaked the Dune movie-inspired cosmetics on his Twitter account. The leak clearly shows the existence of the movie’s lead characters’ skins named Chani and Paul Atreides.

The new back blings, Ornithopter glider, Sand Walk emote, The Stickword loading screen, Marker Hooks, and Twinblades Pickaxe are also being added with this latest update.

Another Fortnite leaker ‘iFiremonkey’ shared the new Sand Walk emote on his Twitter.

Fortnite Dune Update Release Date

HYPEX further took to his Twitter to reveal the possible release date for the upcoming collab between the two franchises. According to his sources, the Dune cosmetics will be added to the Fortnite item store somewhere around October 19, 2021. Valkyrae Receives Backlash Over New RFLCT Skincare Product

Recently, popular YouTuber Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter announced her own range of skincare products on October 19th. The RFLCT skincare products have been described to offer a “new kind of screen protection” and are claimed to benefit “everyone who uses a screen.”

However, it seems like her social media followers aren’t too happy about this announcement, as many have pointed out that there’s a lack of scientific evidence to prove that blue light has a negative impact on our skin. 

“After 2 years, it’s here!” Valkyrae announced on her Twitter while launching the product. “I wanted to create something that would help not just myself, but everybody with a life in front of screens!”

“It’s the skincare collection for everyone who uses a screen,” Valkyrae says in the RFLCT announcement video. “It’s designed to protect your skin from blue light that is emitted from all digital screens.”

According to the company, RFLCT includes a unique mix of ingredients known as “Blue Light Prevention Factor” to “boost your skin’s defenses” against blue light as well as repair damage that has already been done.

However, a number of recent studies have shown that blue light doesn’t have any significant negative impact on our skin.

“Rachel, there is no, peer reviewed literature, clinically assessing the damaging effects of blue light on the skin, and certainly none presented by RFLCT,” a Twitter user comments on Valkyrae’s post. “Your company designs trademarks aimed to fool the average consumer into believing that the product is based on genuine science. “

“I don’t believe a blue light is destroying your skin in the way the RFLCT product presents itself,” popular Twitch streamer HasanAbi said during a livestream. 

“It’s just f**king soap. This blue light sh*t is bullsh*t.”

Within a few hours after receiving backlash on her products across social media, Valkyrae issued a response. 

“I was told to wait until tomorrow to speak,” Valkyrae posted on her private Twitter account ‘itsraechill.’ “I’m also very confused.”

However, no further response has been made by Valkyrae or the RFLCT team as of yet.

Ninja responds to claims of “cashing out” from Mixer

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins was the most popular streamer on Twitch before he announced his departure to Microsoft’s Mixer, a platform that ultimately failed to reach the heights that it was supposed to where Blevins was paid in millions to stream.

Microsoft introduced Mixer as a major candidate to dethrone Twitch from the streaming landscape but failed miserably to the point where Microsoft took it down for good. In an attempt to give the platform a headstart, popular streamers from Twitch like Ninja and Shroud were offered contracts in millions to stream exclusively on Mixer.

The money paid to them would certainly make up for the massive hit they took in terms of viewership while streaming on Mixer which was obvious given the fact that it was a freshly minted platform. As explained by many before, Mixer had issues that did not have an immediate resolution that ultimately led to its failure which prompted Shroud and Ninja to find their way back to Twitch.

Ninja was heavily criticized at the time for jumping ships and given the huge sum involved, it did not take long for the community to assume money to be the reason why he jumped ship.

“So, I wanted it to win. It wasn’t like I just signed this big deal and cashed out, I was streaming double my requirements for six months straight and it still didn’t work out. And, it wasn’t for a lack of want.” said Ninja.

As NaDeShot explains, Ninja did put in the effort to replicate the success he enjoyed on Twitch but it just did not hit off as Mixer failed to hold onto users which translated to streamers suffering and eventually Microsoft bailed out on the whole thing.

Wild Rift Horizon Cup: List of qualified teams

Riot Games is hosting its very first international tournament called Horizon Cup for League of Legends: Wild Rift in Singapore and seeding slots for all the regions have now been confirmed. A total of ten teams will be competing in a LAN format and Wild Rift fans will witness the pinnacle of competition in a few days. Here is a list of teams that qualified for Horizon Cup.

Wild Rift is the portable version of League of Legends and it quickly took over the mobile MOBA market to become of the best gamers in the market. League has a huge fanbase and its esports is celebrated in similar fashion.

Riot Games is trying to achieve the same success as their PC esports counterpart and set up a sustainable ecosystem for Wild Rift Esports. As a result of this, the developers hosted many regional tournaments throughout the world. The attention of this competition was first given to SEA region as this is the region where the journey of Wild Rift began.

After hosting smaller events like Icon Series, Wild Rift Esports gained pace worldwide with its open beta available to almost the entire world. Tournaments like LPL, SEA Championship and Champions Korea has seen fierce competition and a total of ten teams will be competing at Wild Rift Horizon Cup.

This tournament will be hosted in Singapore at Suntec Convention Centre. Here is the list of teams which qualified for this event:

Free Fire: Team 4Unknown rosters accuses captain of prize money scam

Team 4Unknown, a famous roster in Indian Free Fire esports community, has accused their team captain Deadsoul of prize money fraud of around 30 lakhs. Swastik, one of the players from Team 4Unknown recently livestreamed on Instagram and brought this issue to limelight.

4Unknown is one of the upcoming stars in Free Fire esports with consistent performance in this year’s competitive season. They have secured top five ranks in most of the major tournaments in India but apparently, the prize money which team won was never distributed amongst the players.

In the recent live session, the entire Team 4Unknown gathered together to address this issue. According to them, Deadsoul lied to them and gave reasons for the delay of prize money distribution.

Team 4Unknown recently won Free Fire Titan Invitational, Snapdragon Conquest and were second runner-ups at ESPL 2021. A total figure of ₹33 Lakhs was apparently won by the team but never bifurcated among the roster.

Deadsoul was responsible of receiving the money from organizers and provide it to the team but he allegedly gave excuses for distributing it. Deadsoul allegedly left the bootcamp for college admissions but never returned back. His own claims suggest that he is already in a college studying in the final year.

Following the rifts between the team and captain, Team 4Unknown decided to remove Deadsoul and soon afterwards, he forfeited their seeding slot from FFIC 2021. The team is planning to take legal actions against Deadsoul for his deeds.

Deadsoul has his own set of claims where he has accused the teammates of a big slot scam worth crores. Each claim has its own set of proofs but no definitive conclusions have been drawn yet by either sides.

New World: How To Successfully Transfer Your Character to Another Server?

Amazon’s highly popular MMORPG, New World,  has just added the ability to transfer characters from one server to another server with Update 1.03 available today. 

With today’s addition of server transfer, players can finally transfer to a more populated server or transfer to a server where they can play with friends. While the ability to transfer character is available globally, the server transfer feature right now only works for transfer within the region i.e North American region players can transfer to servers within the North American region and not to other regions like Europe and Asia. 

When will the server transfer feature go live?

While the feature is present in update 1.03, the devs have decided to roll out the feature in a phased manner starting with the Utopia world first, in the AP Southeast region. Devs will monitor transfers in this world, and if anything out of the ordinary occurs the team will manually intervene and fix the issues. If all goes well, the devs will turn on the feature for the rest of the AP Southeast region, and continue monitoring it a bit more. After 8 hours of monitoring, if the team doesn’t discover any issues then the character server transfers will be enabled on the other regions as well. 

How to transfer Character to another server?

As soon as you update the game, a free character transfer token will be available in your account. You can claim the token in the new tab in the in-game store to claim your free character transfer token. Now follow the steps below to transfer character:

  • Log into your New World account and select the character.
  • Now you need to leave your Company.
  • Remove any active Trading Post sell orders and buy orders.
  • Your character must be located in a sanctuary (such as a settlement or outpost).
  • Now go to the in-game store and click on the “World Transfer” tab at the bottom.
  • Claim and purchase your free World Transfer token.
  • Choose a new home-world from the list.
  • Accept the transfer requirements and confirm the transfer. 
  • Your character will now be transferred to the server of your choice. 

However, there are some restrictions on the servers you can transfer your character to, namely:

  • You cannot move your character to a full world.
  • You cannot move your character to a world in maintenance.
  • You cannot move your character to a world set that you have an existing character in already.

What comes and doesn’t come with your character after a successful transfer?

Since you are switching your server completely, you will retain the following things on your character,

  • You will keep all character progression (level, weapon mastery, titles, etc.).
  • You will keep your inventory and storage.
  • You will keep all of your currency.
  • You will keep your houses and housing decorations.
  • You will keep all quest progress.

What doesn’t come with your character,

  • Company membership needs to be terminated before transferring, and will not carry over.
  • Active Trading Post sell orders and buy orders must be removed and will not carry over.
  • The “Friends” list is world-specific and will not transfer.

After the resounding success of the ESPL 2021, Vishwalok Nath, the director of Esports Premier League(ESPL) talked to us (Talkesport) about his next big gaming IP and the future ESPL tournament. 

Esports Premier League or ESPL 2021 was India’s first-ever franchise-based Free Fire tournament that ended up on a high note with more than 100 million video views and a million registrations. Riding on the success of the ESPL 2021, Mr. Vishwalok and his team at India Today Gaming is fully focused on the launch of their next big ambitious gaming IP — the World Esports Cup.

Unlike ESPL, the World Esports Cup or WEC 2021 will feature teams from not only India but teams from the neighboring countries — Nepal and Pakistan will also participate for the title of the best Free Fire team and claim the USD 100,000 or Rs 75,00,000 in the prize pool. 

Talking about the WEC 2021, Mr. Vishwalok told us that the next iteration of ESPL will bring in more games and will be India’s first multi-game Franchise tournament. Apart from Free Fire, the next ESPL tournament might feature other popular online titles such as BGMI, COD Mobile, Valorant, etc. While at the moment no games were confirmed, Mr. Vishwalok said that his team is working hard on expanding the ESPL platform to include Desktop and Console titles in the future tournament. 

“ESPL is something which gonna expand and include multiple platforms in it, so there are gonna be more games included. So just watch the space, we will announce more news on that,” said Mr Vishwalok Nath in the Talkesport Interact.

God of War is coming to PC in January 2022

One of PlayStation’s greatest games, God of War (2018) is coming to PC.

The game was previously leaked when NVIDIA’s GeForce now database was accessed last month which contained over 18,000+ games, most of them being unreleased and unannounced titles.

God of War will be featuring several PC exclusive features such as unlocked framerates, true 4K resolution, improved screen-space reflections, high-resolution shadows, ultra-wide monitor support, and ambient occlusion options.

Santa Monica Studios have partnered with NVIDIA to bring DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex technology to God of War, which also supports full keyboard and mouse controls as well as DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers. 

PC Players will also receive the following additional Digital Deluxe Edition content with their purchase:

  • Death’s Vow Armor Sets for Kratos and Atreus 
  • Exile’s Guardian Shield Skin 
  • Buckler of the Forge Shield Skin 
  • Shining Elven Soul Shield Skin

New World Update 1.0.3 Out Now, Includes Global Server Transfer And Various Bug Fixes

Amazon’s first and the most successful MMORPG game, New World, just got updated with one of the most crucial and community-requested features — Server Transfer. 

New World players rejoice as Amazon has finally added the ability to transfer servers with the latest update of the game. The update 1.03 not only adds a server transfer feature, but it also comes with various bug fixes, a emote, performance fixes, and much more. 

New World Update 1.0.3 release date & time

New World update 1.0.3 will be available at 5 AM UTC on October 20 and will be pushed on all servers at the same time. Servers will be taken down for maintenance starting 5 AM UTC for upto 5 hours, so expect the servers to come back online fully at 10 AM UTC.

Server Transfer Now Available 

After constant delays and setbacks, the developers are finally able to roll out the Server Transfer feature in the stable build of the game. As promised each account will get one free character transfer token which they can redeem to transfer to any server of their choice. 

Although one thing to note, the server transfer is limited to the region in which your server is currently located. Basically what that means is that a player in the European region can only server transfer to servers located in the European region and not to servers located in North America or any other region. 

“After we are sure players have had plenty of time to find the right server for them, we will later make server transfer tokens available for purchase in the store. We will give notice ahead of time when tokens are changing to a paid service,” devs said in the patch notes.

  • An error message now appears when players attempt to buy their items in the Trading Post.
  • Reverted a chest/loot change from update 1.0.2 that was causing too many refining reagents to roll from chests.
  • Adjusted the volume on the Amazon Games splash screen.
  • Armor is limited to 1 skill perk per piece.
  • Added general performance improvements for visual artifacts and graphics settings.
  • Dyes are now removed from items upon trade with a warning message present.
  • The Time to Declare War” timer now visually pauses to make it clear when an Invasion is imminent but not yet scheduled. The territory remains in a Conflict state after Invasions, and War can be declared.

General bug fixes

  • Fixed issues with the T4 and T5 azoth staffs— go close those high-level portals!
  • Fixed an issue causing the abandoning event notification to persist.
  • Fixed a housing UI issue. The UI will now correctly shows that property taxes are subject to the full price of the home, and not impacted by the first-time home buyer discount.
  • Fixed issues with early game spawning. The watchtower respawn point is replaced by the Settlement after it has been discovered. Players no longer incorrectly respawn at a Watchtower after selecting to respawn at a Settlement.
  • Fixed various localization issues throughout the game.
  • Fixed an issue where not all items for Town Projects were consumed when completing the mission.
  • Resolved login errors that prevented players from accessing their characters.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Arena keys to not drop as intended.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Runic Bear armor to not be appropriately dyed during Wars.
  • Fixed a pet placement issue. Pets placed in an otherwise empty house now remain in the home after the player logs out, instead of returning the pet to the player’s inventory.
  • AP Southeast servers now display the correct time zone in-game.
  • Fixed an issue with titles – player titles and achievements now appear as intended, and the achievement tab properly updates when a new achievement is earned.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Company invites to persist after decline/accept.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Rajah spawns to stack forever – one big cat at a time, please!

Speculative fixes

The fixes listed below are tentative fixes and mitigations. Our goal is to get these changes out and see if issues persist, so we can continue to work on them and address them in a future update if necessary.

  • Worked to fix an issue where Wars and Invasions kicked off earlier than scheduled.
  • Worked to fix an issue where not all settlement stations upgrade as intended when town projects are completed.
  • Players should no longer become stuck when entering or exiting an instance. If a player reconnects and their character is dead, the respawn screen is open with respawn options available. Players who are currently stuck need to contact customer support to have their character unstuck.
