Valorant T and CT Callouts Explained

0

It has been over a year since Riot Games’ competitive shooter Valorant was initially released, but it still continues to grow to this day. With an increasing player count, more and more new players are joining the title, and they are often confused by some of the callouts in Valorant. Let’s take a look at some of the callouts that new Valorant players may find confusing.

Valorant is, in a number of ways, similar to Valve’s shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which was originally released in 2012. Due to the fact that it was released much earlier than Valorant, which is relatively new to the competitive FPS scene, players of the former have carried over a bunch of things to the latter that new Valorant players aren’t aware of.

The ‘CT’ and ‘T’ callouts are prime examples of this. Both of these callouts were carried over by CSGO players to Valorant, and aren’t from Valorant itself. Let’s take a look at what these callouts mean.

CT and T Callouts in Valorant

Similar to ‘Attackers’ and Defenders’ in Valorant, there are two teams ‘Counter-Terrorists’ and ‘Terrorists’ in CSGO, which are often abbreviated to ‘CT’ and ‘T’. The locations on a map where the Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists spawn are named as T-Spawn and CT-Spawn respectively, which are also called ‘T’ and ‘CT’ in short.

Likewise, in Valorant, the Attackers’ spawn and Defenders’ spawn are often called out as ‘T’ and ‘CT’ for the above-mentioned reasons.

Besides, there’s no specific callout for these locations, so ‘CT’ and ‘T’ are most commonly used since they’re short, simple and precise.

Watch: Valorant Player Gets One Second Ace With Breach

0

A Valorant player has landed a stunning one-second ace in Ascent using Breach, and the video has already gone viral on the internet. For the unaware, an ace is when one player wipes out the entire enemy team by himself.

While an ace may not be that uncommon in Valorant, one done in a single second certainly is. The Breach player showed perfect utility placement, which, combined with his neat gunplay got him the one second ace.

Reddit user ‘PolareN88’ has shared a video of the astonishing ace on the platform, showcasing what went down that round.

In the clip, we can see the Breach player holding the corridor near A-site Ascent as a defender. As he heard footsteps of his enemies approaching him, he wound up an Aftershock through the wall, which caught the opposing team by surprise.

The enemy Astra also smoked the area, which ultimately made it harder for her own team to see the Aftershock coming. One by one, the entire Attacking side collapsed to his Aftershock except Jett, who jumped through it only to be gunned down by Breach.

The play by Breach initiated outbursts of surprise from his teammates in the voice chat, who seemed pretty shocked by the one second ace that he had just pulled off.

Connecting To CSGO Network – CSGO Servers Are Down Today

Counter-Strike Global Offensive, otherwise known as CSGO is experiencing server problems this morning.

The Independent website DownDetector.com has received a massive surge of reports related to the game in the last few minutes.

Down Detector is an independent website that tracks outages across the globe by monitoring social mentions around specific topics.

Connecting To CSGO Network – CSGO Servers Are Down

On December 21, CSGO players across the United States reported outages of the game servers. It’s still unclear what caused the outage, but it could be due to a number of reasons.

The first and a common cause of server outages is a new update. When a new update is shipped to the game, the servers can go down for a short while. However, in case of an update, the servers can be up quite quickly.

Another reason behind server outages may be a technical fault in Valve’s servers. This is very unlikely to happen but has happened on more than one occasion in the past.

In case you’re finding yourself unable to launch CSGO or join a game, you can check for yourself if CSGO servers are down.

There are a number of websites to check server statuses of popular games like CSGO or DOTA 2, and even the server status of Steam itself. One of the most reliable websites to check server issues is steamstat.us; it shows detailed stats on the statuses of game coordinators of Dota 2, Artifact, CSGO, TF 2 along with reports of server outages.

Report: Evil Geniuses CSGO Looking to add stewie2k and autimatic

North American organization Evil Geniuses are looking for a rebuild of their roster after having a disappointing season in 2021. They parted ways with Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz, Owen “oBo” Schlatter and Michał “MICHU” Müller earlier this year after bombing out of the Legends stage of the PGL Major without a win, going 0-3.

Of the original EG roster From 2019, only 2 members remain, Vincent ‘Brehze’ Cayonte and Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov, and the team will be looking to rebuild around them. According to neL from 1pv.fr, ex G2 esports coach Damian ‘maLeK’ Marcel has been given the responsibility of building the roster for the 2022 season.

If this is true then Damian ‘daps’ Steele would be leaving the roster after coming on as coach in June 2021, following a brief tenure in Valorant.

Team Liquid was also reported to be shuffling their roster and the players’ comments after their final game at BLAST Premier World Finals confirm that. This move will free up Jake ‘stewie2k’ Yip and according to sources he will be joining EG.

EG are also in talks with Timothy ‘autimatic’ Ta, who has been plying his trade in Valorant for the past year with T1. autimatic was one of the core members of Gen.g when they were a part of CS and he played with them until the end, when they decided to pull out of CS:GO. He had to move to Valorant as a result, but he is reportedly making a come back.

Timothy also teased a comeback by posting a picture of himself and stewie2k at the ELEAGUE Boston Major 2018.

This move will reunite the Boston Major winning duo of stewie2k and autimatic as they look to reignite the North American CSGO scene, already being fan favourites. All parties are still in talks but if all things go right, the Evil Geniuses CSGO roster could shape up the following way for 2022:

  • Jake “Stewie2K” Yip
  • Timothy “autimatic” Ta
  • Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte
  • Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov
  • Damien “maLeK” Marcel (coach)
