Will Valve celebrate CSGO’s 10th anniversary?

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is turning ten in August, and Valve may have something planned to mark the event. 

CSGO has played a crucial role in chiseling the first-person shooter genre since its release in 2012. The number one go-to game has curated an FPS ecosystem that continues to give. In 2022, there are many contemporary rivals that appeal to the modern audience, but CSGO stays a constant title in players’ gaming libraries. 

In 2022, CSGO will complete a decade, and fans are thrilled. Valve isn’t the most involved parent when it comes to its Labor of Love. But, recent patch updates have undoubtedly become more regular. Considering the consistent attention from Valve, players wonder if CSGO’s 10th anniversary would be anything special.

Valve announces CSGO10 contest for CSGO’S 10th anniversary

The celebrate CSGO’s 10th anniversary, Valve has announced a community-based event. CSGO10 is a sticker contest that’d pit the community’s creatives against each other. 

Since the game’s release in 2012, Valve has curated an inventory that features some of the wildest in-game cosmetics in FPS. But, CSGO players have continued to roll out their personal takes on weapon skins.

The developer is finally providing an opportunity for players to showcase their talent. The CSGO10 contest will allow players to submit their stickers for the birthday capsule.  

The stickers aren’t mandated to have a birthday theme. Designers can play around with different CSGO-related concepts concocted in any style.

But, all designs must be authentic, with the exception of Counter-Strike logos. These designs will later be added to a capsule, marking CSGO’s 10th anniversary. 

There will undoubtedly be thousands of submissions, so make sure yours is entered correctly. Valve will only take entries tagged with “CSGO10” in the title, e.g., CSGO10 | Sticker Name.

This will make the sorting process easier. Submissions without a tag may go unnoticed. Previous workshop submissions are eligible for the capsule, just make sure to tag them so we can find them more easily.

All submissions for this event must be completed and submitted to the workshop by July 21, 2022. So, players have plenty of time to whip up an eye-catching sticker. The capsule will release on or around CSGO’s 10th birthday, August 21, 2022. 

When was CSGO released? 

CSGO was released on August 21, 2022, as the fourth installment in the franchise. The renowned video game Half-Life was developed by Valve in 1998.

Counter-Strike was first released as a mod to Half-Life on June 19, 1999. Since then, Valve has rolled out various Counter-strike spin-offs and leading games.

Team XSpark announces a new BGMI roster

Team XSpark, a beloved and recognized BGMI team in India, has announced a new roster ahead of Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge 2022. The team has its core intact in the form of Mavi and Scout but the new additions forecast a promising future for Team X in the upcoming days.

Team XSpark is formed and owned by Tanmay ‘Scout’ Singh. He is a professional BGMI player and a famous content creator with millions of followers. Scout is part of the active roster along with Mavi. They are known as the deadly duo and have performed under Orange Rock at an international level.

The new XSpark roster will have their old teammate Ultron coming back with three new members. The new players named 420OP and Gyrogod are renowned in the community for having an aggressive nature in-game and they are joined by a new talent called Fearless.

The announcement mentions that this team is ‘BMOC Ready’, clearly stating that their first tournament will be BMOC 2022. Team Xspark is already playing in the invitational tournament called ‘The Grind’ with this roster but different iterations of this roster are yet to be revealed.

Team XSpark now has one of the most aggressive rosters in India with each and every player hungry for blood. It will be interesting to see how this new team will perform under the leadership of Mavi and Scout.

In an announcement that caught the entire Valorant fan base by surprise, Riot Games just announced a ‘Widejoy Mode’ coming to the tactical shooter.

The small 57-second trailer by the Valorant YouTube showcases the ‘Widejoy’ meme and confirms it as an official game mode set to arrive in the title.

For the unaware, the ‘widejoy’ meme is an old Valorant meme that first originated in Episode 4 due to a bug that rendered the in-game Killjoy player card much wider than intended. Riot was swift to reverse the bug, but the community raised repeated demands to the company in attempts of bringing ‘Widejoy’ back to Valorant.

So does the newly released trailer mean that Riot is bringing the ‘Widejoy’ meme back?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that way since the trailer is likely to be an April Fools’ joke by Riot Games.

It isn’t the first time Riot Games is pranking Valorant fans on April Fools, though. If you’ve been following Valorant for a while, you’d probably remember the April Fools patch notes that changed Brimstone smokes to 100 seconds. Obviously, that patch was never implemented, and the chances of the ‘Widejoy’ mode being added to the game are also pretty slim.

With the constantly growing popularity of Valorant, more and more players are looking to venture into the game competitively and climb the ranking spectrum in the shooter.

However, the ranking system of Valorant can be a lot more complex than most people think, and a better understanding of it can help you climb through the ranks a lot faster.

Let’s take a look at how the ranking system works in Valorant, and how you can efficiently climb the competitive ladder of the title.

Valorant Ranking System

Currently the ranking system in Valorant is divided into the following ranks:

  • Iron
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • Immortal
  • Radiant

Each of these ranks, with the exception of Radiant, are further subdivided into three groups.

After finishing five placement games in the competitive mode, players are assigned to one of these ranks depending on their skill level. From there, players have to grind Matchmaking Rating (MMR) by playing competitive gains to ascend to a higher skill group.

Each competitive win grants you Rank Rating (RR) points, and once you have 100 RR points, you rank up. For instance, if you’re currently Gold 2, and gain 100 RR points, you will become Gold 3.

On rare occasions, you’ll find yourself skipping a rank. This occurs when you trigger the ‘double rank up’, which happens when the algorithm determines that you possess higher skill than your current rank and can be obtained by consistent performances in competitive games and constantly gaining Match MVPs in matches.

What Impacts Your Rank Rating?

The primary factors that impact your RR points include:

  • Match results (Whether you win or lose the match)
  • Round differential (By how many rounds you win/lose the match)
  • Your in-game performance (Determined by your combat score)

So, if you’re planning to climb the ranking ladder in Valorant, you should focus on putting up consistent individual performances and securing as many rounds as you can for your team.

Another key takeaway is to never give up – that surrender button might be tempting when you’re losing a game 10-0, but even winning a single round or two is better than losing 13-0 as a result of surrendering.

The registrations for the spring split of the PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO) 2022 will start from March 31st to April 13th.

PUBG Mobile Club Open 2022 will feature the best PUBG MOBILE Players and Squads among the 6 regions across the world. The event will act as a qualifying tournament to join the world’s largest mobile esports event, the PUBG MOBILE GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP. The complete event will be played in 3 maps and TPP mode.

Due to the absence of any new Agents in the Valorant Episode 4 Act 2 update, players of the shooter have been looking forward to seeing a new Agent being introduced to the title for quite a while now.

Luckily, details of the upcoming Valorant Agent 20 seem to have already been leaked ahead of its release, and it’s all set to be added to the Valorant roster with the heavily anticipated Episode 4 Act 3 update.

Credible Valorant leaker ‘ValorLeaks’ has recently leaked the abilities of the enigmatic Valorant Agent 20, and from the initial looks, it seems that the next Agent will be a female initiator and a competition to Sova.

Valorant Agent 20 Abilities

Here are all the abilities of Valorant’s Agent 20, as leaked by the Twitter user:

C- Prowler

Send out a creature that can follow trails or be controlled by moving your mouse. Upon reaching an enemy, they will be nearsighted for three seconds. Only one creature is allowed per trail.

Q- Seize

Equip and fire an orb that will stay in the air for a max of 1.5 seconds before slamming into the ground. When the orb hits the ground, enemies within its nearby radius will be tethered, take damage, and be deafened.

E- Haunt 

Equip and fire an orb that will stay in the air and then hit the ground. It will then go back into the air and turn into an eye. If Enemies are spotted by the eye, they will be revealed and a trailed debuff is applied.

X (Ultimate) – Nightfall

Send out a wave of dark mist. If the mist hits an enemy, they will be deafened, trailed, and decayed.

Valorant Next Agent Release Date

The next Valorant agent, codenamed Bounty Hunter, will be introduced to the live servers alongside the Episode 4 Act 3 update, which is scheduled for release around April 27, 2022.
