Report: U Mumba Esports to cease its CSGO operations due to lack of tournaments

Mumbai based esports organization is anticipated to hang up on its CSGO division. Backed by philanthropist Ronnie Screwvala, the organization is likely to halt its CSGO venture due to the functioning of inadequate events. The organization also recently bid farewell to its DotA 2 lineup earlier this month citing ‘dull future’ pertaining to the esport title in the subcontinent.

U Mumba eSports adjourning its two PC esport lineup is a clear indication of the direction of the wind in the Indian esport circuit. While the organization has still adhered to its PUBG-mobile lineup, the future remains uncertain for PC titles because even Entity Gaming disbanded its CSGO lineup after the conclusion of the ESL India Premiership 2019-20 Winter LAN Finale.

The displeasure prevailing over PC titles is quite contemplated considering the fact that the returns remained shallow with minimal viewership growth in the region. While on the contrary, PUBG-mobile has apparently swept off the entire nation its feet. The viewership and influence it generates are immense over the long-prevailing Counter-Strike & Dota 2.

When the decision comes to fruition, U Mumba eSports shall bid farewell to:

  • Ritesh “RiTz” Shah
  • Varun “Mast3r” Menon
  • Rohit “BondF” Latke
  • Vishal “haiVaan” Sharma
  • Ishpreet “HuNtR” Singh
