Despite being one of the most anticipated new maps in the history of Counter-Strike 2, Cache finds itself on the brink of removal as it currently has the lowest pick rate in the CS2 Premier map pool.
As per recent data from CS Map Stats, Cache is the least played map in the Premier mode of CS2, followed by Anubis and Nuke.
On the other side of the spectrum, Mirage and Dust 2 dominate the map picks as usual, with both maps enjoying significantly higher player distribution compared to Inferno, which barely lands a spot on the podium over Ancient.

For the uninitiated, Cache is the newest map to join the CS2 Premier map pool. The fan-favorite CS:GO map was added to the active map rotation alongside the release of Premier Season 5 on July 8, 2026.
While it’s still tough to predict whether Cache will be removed from the CS2 Premier map pool heading into Season 6, fans speculate that it’s definitely a possibility. Typically, Valve tends to remove the least-played map from the active map pool at the start of a new season, meaning fans will have to wait until around December 2026 to find out whether Cache joins the growing list of maps cycled in and out of CS2’s competitive rotation.
Note that this data is still from the extremely early stages of Premier Season 5. Don’t be surprised if Cache surpasses some of the more popular maps as we near the end of the current season and see more pro play on the new map.
