PUBG to release cross-platform play for console players

In a boost to console players of the famous Battle Royale game PUBG, the developers announced that they would gradually roll out cross platform play after the launch of Season 4.

While the full support for cross platform does not come out till October, players will be able to experience it first hand on their test servers in September.

Once the cross platform servers go live, it would mean that players will be able to get matched much faster as both XBOX One and PS4 users would be matched concurrently, something that has been heavily requested by the community.

Another major announcement has been the earlier content releases for consoles. While updates will still be applied to the PC version first, the consoles will receive their updates within 2 weeks.

Season 4 is slated to go live on August 27, with updates to the design of Erangel and a new battle pass called Survivor Pass, which will contain missions every week to earn Erangel themed rewards.

Report: suNny to replace Aleksib on ENCE after StarLadder Berlin Major

In a report by Jarek “DeKay” Lewis, DeKay mentions that ENCE are expected to make a roster change by removing Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, their IGL, for a fellow Fin, Miikka “suNny” Kemppi.

According to DeKay, the new ENCE lineup will be featured at BLAST Pro Series: Moscow 2019 and the StarLadder Berlin Major, where ENCE will be seen at the Returning Legends stage, will be the last tournament for Aleksib with the full Finnish roster.

Since Aleksibโ€™s addition to ENCE, the team has emerged victorious at BLAST Pro Series: Madrid 2019. The Finnish gunners missed out on victories at Intel Extreme Masters XIV – Chicago and DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019, where they lost to Liquid on both accounts. In addition, ENCE missed out on winning the Katowice Major 2019 due to a loss against Astralis.

Despite being listed as a member of Mousesports, a transfer to ENCE has been completed or being discussed by ENCE according to DeKayโ€™s sources.

If this move is completed, it would raise questions about who would take over the reigns of the team and is still unclear.

The rumoured ENCE lineup could look like:

  • Alleksi ‘allu’ Jalli
  • Jere ‘sergej’ Salo
  • Jani ‘Aerial’ Jussila
  • Sami ‘xseveN’ Laasanen
  • Miikka ‘suNny’ Kemppi *
  • Slava ‘Twista’ Rรคsรคnen (Coach)

18 teams are battling it out in the group stages. 16 teams proceed to the playoffs, while 1 team from each group gets eliminated.
