Gen.G sign BnTeT

Gen.G have confirmed about the arrival of Hansel ‘BnTeT’ Ferdinand to their North American CSGO roster.

The 24yo Indonesian was offered a place on the roster by the South Korean team Gen.G who had previously signed Cloud9’s ex-trio consisting of Timothy ‘Autimatic’ Ta, Damian ‘daps’ Steele and Kenneth ‘Koosta’ Suen. Over the past weeks DeKay too had reported this transfer which was back then not entirely confirmed. With BnTeT joining Gen.G, it does mean for him to start fresh with new goals and opportunities waiting for him in the North American Continent. During his 3year stinct with the Asian Giants Tyloo, BnTeT helped Tyloo to scale the HLTV.Org rankings with a #1 position in Asia and maintain a spot in Top 30 as well. Also Tyloo made it to the group stage in the Faceit Major with him in the core.

This transfer would make BnTeT replace SicK who was previously bought up by the North American Organisation as a Stand-In to compete at the IEM Katowice NA qualifier

Gen.G on it’s twitter has confirmed that before joining his new Squad in North America, BnTeT will play the IEM Asia qualifier for Tyloo.

With this transfer, Gen.G Esports’s Full roster now consists of:

Timothy ‘Autimatic’ Ta

Damian ‘daps’ Steele

Kenneth ‘Koosta’ Suen

Sam ‘s0m’ Oh

Hansel ‘BnTeT’ Ferdinand

Vitality beat mousesports to win EPICENTER

Vitality have won the 2019 edition of EPICENTER after defeating mousesports in a three-map thriller grand final (2-1; Inferno 16-19, Mirage 16-12, Nuke 16-9).

Inferno was the map that kicked off the series with Mousesports on the CT side as the Frenchmen went all-in with their guns blazing hence taking an early lead of 3-0 before the duo of Woxic and Karrigan gunned down Alex “ALEX” McMeekinโ€™s Men to secure the 4th round. This battle between the Frenchmen and the Europeans was very intense with every round ending on some nail-biting trades and encounters. Mousesports began to retaliate by winning the 6th round thanks to Robin โ€˜ropzโ€™ Koolโ€™s shotgun hold at the boiler position which helped him to get a tactical 2k. In the 8th round, Mousesports did show its presence on the server with a successful retake by Ropz and ร–zgรผr โ€˜Woxicโ€™ Eker with the later defusing the C4 and Ropz getting a 2k which did include Mathieu โ€˜ZyWooโ€™ Herbaut to set up a scoreline of 3:5. This duo pulled of another successive round for Mouz as they both did secure 2k each against the helpless Vitality who were on Pistols.

Things began to worsen for Vitality as Richard โ€˜Shoxโ€™ Papillon did snipe down his own player and as of a result of the TK, the Europeans did have their upper hand as they did take a lead. But the Frenchmen were still fresh out there despite losing an eco, they did bought their cannons and rifles with Cรฉdric โ€˜RpKโ€™ Guipouy charging onto the 1st Mid and gunning down 2Mouz guys hence securing the 13th round with ZyWoo doing the honours. But the French guys were soon denied with a collective effort among the Mouz guys meant the B site to wildly open up for Business helping them reach 8-6 on their T side. Soon later the Frenchmen did Switch the sides with a 7:8 scoreline prop to ZyWoo and Danโ€™apEXโ€™ Madesclaire who did get 2k each on the successful B site retakes.

Both sides did come from the break with the fire in their bellies with Mouz charging up B with 3 flashbangs, 2 molotovs and 2 smokes only to lose the round with ZyWoo pulling off a daylight robbery by successfully defusing the C4 in between of an intense pistol battle. Vitality began to capitalize with ZyWoo yet again getting a 2k on the A site. But their happiness was short-lived as Mouz kicked back to square out the scoreline as ALEX’s 2k went in vain as the B site went open for the plant and thus helping Mouz to secure the round. But with still the rage and heat running down the veins of the Frenchmen, RpK did sneak a 2k by hiding in the A site, making the c4 drop with ZyWoo doing the honours by getting a 2k on the rest. Low economy forced Mouz to face a weapon draught for 2 successive rounds but they put up a valiant challenge with Karrigan And Frozen exploding up the A site for the plant and Woxic in the next round scoping out on Alex with clearing the B site helped Mouz to reach 13-14 before an unreal 3k Clutch from ChrisJ helped them to tie out the scoreline with 14-14. With the win on the mind, Ropz and Karrigan blast up onto the A site with both of them fragging and planting the C4 earning their team the match point but alas they couldnโ€™t keep up to Vitalityโ€™s threat which forced the Europeans to go into Overtime. Mouz didnโ€™t loose the moral as they charged into OT with a 1v2 clutch from Woxic which denied the French retake and with a miscommunication between RpK and his boys over the C4 on banana did cost them the entire map with Mouz winning it 19:16.

Photo via EPICENTER

The second map of the series being it Mouzโ€™s pick did make them regret over their decision as they lost the pistol round on the T side with yet another daylight robbery pulled by ALEX who did successfully defuse the C4. Things were hiatus for the European side as they trailed 0-3 with Karrigan sneaking into the sandwich position only to kill the CTs in the Jungle and the CT side and making it 1-3 for his side followed by a standard A smokes Setup which saw Mouz coming back in the game. But we didnโ€™t get to witness much of this as Vitality started to race away with some crucial rounds. ZyWoo soon made it 6:4 for the team as he successfully did retake the A site with a 3k. But an unreal nasty AWP clutch from Frozen saw Finn Andersonโ€™s men claim the 12th round. Mouz then did close the first half with an 8-7 scoreline after a successful A site Hit. Things started to get better for Mouz when Karrigan stopped a furious B Hit by the Frenchmen to win the pistol round on their CT side. But their happiness was very much shortlived with Vitality changing their gears and going up 13-12 with the ZyWoo defending their planted c4 on the A site. Later in the match, ZyWoo did scope out 2 guys to make the pressure going earning his team 14-12 on the scoreline. Things finally began to fade for Mouz when the Frenchmen executed an A site hit gunning down Mouz left-right forwards and backwards and eventually claiming Mouzโ€™s map pick with a score of 16-12.

Going in the decider map, we saw the Frenchmen win the pistol round on their CT side and swiftly cruising to a healthy 3-0 score. But their streak was shortlived as Mouz found their way in the B site successfully and opening their account with a round win. With just single round loss, the Frenchmen didnโ€™t lose their rhythm and exploited every window of opportunity to lay concrete on their lead with ALEX hiding and sneaking out of the smoke on the 2 outer guys hence making the Terrorist drop his C4. With a massive lead, Vitality got gunned down with a relentless rush by Mouz on the A-site which witnessed Ropz and Frozen grab 2k each and thus registering a second-round win for Mouz. Mouz did keep up their pace as they closed out the first half with a scoreline of 5-10 with the duo of Karrigan and ChrisJ coming out with some highly tactical plays thus outclassing the Frenchmen.

Coming from the break, Vitality once again did outclass Mouz in the pistol round on their T side but they got instantly dealt in the next round when Mouz did decide to go on an Anti-Economy round hence snapping away the round. But with Vitality running away with the scoreline of 14-7, Karrigan pulled of a 3k and a 2k by ChrisJ that too twice when the Terrorists tried to fast Hit A site thrice. With ALEX helping Vitality reach match point after his brave defensive post-plant 3k clutch, it obviously did put Mouz in some economical issues which gave Vitality the edge thus enabling them to win the series 2-1 and making them the Champions of the Epicenter 2019.

Mousesports defeat EG; to EPICENTER 2019 grand final

Mousesports join Vitality in the EPICENTER 2019 grand final after beating Evil Geniuses 2-0 (16-12 on Train, and 16-14 on Overpass).

Starting on the defensive side on their pick, we saw Finn โ€˜Karriganโ€™ Andersonโ€™s men successfully retake the A site with 2 superb flash assists from Karrigan himself. But the North Americans did make the Europeans taste their own medicine when they went out on an Anti-Economy round with Vincent โ€˜Brehzeโ€™ Cayonte gunning down 3 CTs and having won the round for EG. Mousesports did retaliate to EGโ€™s Aggressive buy round when they force bought and choked the Americans once again. Karriganโ€™s army didnโ€™t stop to show up as they did lead with a 9-1 scoreline over the helpless NA guys with some heroic plays including a 3k from ร–zgรผr โ€˜Woxicโ€˜ Eker and Karrigan each to choke the incoming T side wave in 2 successive rounds. Robin โ€˜Ropzโ€™ Kool with his hauling 4k did come out to be a superb retake for Mousesports as he successfully defused the C4 and taking away the potential round win from EG and Chris โ€˜ChrisJโ€™ De Jong sniping 3 guys on the A site to stop the Ts who just bought pistols in the 9th round. Meanwhile, Brehze again did step up to star for EG with some breathtaking entries but was again denied with that gigantic defence set up by the Europeans. But a collective effort from EG saw them closing the first half with a scoreline of 6-9 with Ethan grabbing a brilliant 4k with his Krieg to win the 11th round for his team and getting the plant which was a cherry on the cake.

Coming into the second half, EG did manage to win their pistol round after a really slow start with a successful retake thanks to Ethan again. But Mousesports did hit back with a full-fledged buy in the 18th round with a successful collective effort from the Ts to gun down EG on their Aim. Mousesports did manage to race off to 12 round wins before the duo of Brehze and Ethan helped the Americans to build a successful defence which did help them to tie the scoreline with 12-12 on the server. But soon enough with the raging blood flowing through the Veins of Karriganโ€™s Men and himself, we did see Mousesports close the game marching onto 16rounds first hence ending Evil Geniuses’ Misery with David โ€˜Frozenโ€™ ฤŒerลˆanskรฝ defending the B site to kill 2 guys including Tarik โ€˜Tarikโ€™ Celik lurking from the connector.

Onto Overpass, Karriganโ€™s army yet did continue to exasperate Peter โ€˜Stanislawโ€™ Jarguzโ€™s men with winning the pistol round on their Defense. Mousesports didnโ€™t stop their alliance with racing to a 4-0 scoreline before Karrigan shut down the NA team with a 3k on the A-site with the Ts trying to plant A. But soon enough the duo of Tarik and Brehze in a 2v1 situation against Frozen sneaked up to the A site to plant leaving no option for Frozen to only go into hiding and save his Gun. With that Bloodthirst hitting hard, Cerq and the EGโ€™s spearhead Brehze did setup a challenging show for Mousesports but were denied in the later stoppage rounds when ChrisJ gunned down 3 guys on the B site to deny the plant and giving his team a 10-5 lead in the first half. EG did show some resistance with Brezhe and Ethaan bagging 2 kill each to keep the Ts at the Bay from planting the c4. Stanislawโ€™s Men continued to build the defence with Stan himself denying the plant on the A site with a valliant 3k in the 18th round hence giving his team an upper hand, With some great impact rounds from Brehze and Ethan, EG did come in lead with a 14-13 this one time but were soon denied with Frozen picking up a 3k over the CTs rushing on the A site to tie the scores. But Robin โ€˜Ropzโ€™ Kool did turn the tables against EG with taking a 2k while flanking from the Grafitti on the B site all the way up to killing Stanislaw at truck on the A site and Brehze with a 90-degree flick helping his team to earn the match point. Low on economy EG fell to Karriganโ€™s men as their collective effort did help them win the series 2-0.

With this win, Mousesports will now face the Frenchmen, Team Vitality in the Finals who earlier toppled Team Heroic in the Semis! Do stay tuned for the Finaleโ€™s Analysis.

“Thanks to Global Esports for reuniting three brothers” – DeathMaker | The antidote & DeathMaker Interview

We sat down with Sabyasachi ‘antidote’ Bose and Debanjan ‘DeathMaker’ Das to talk about their move to Global Esports, the reunion, the regional scene and more.

TE: This was your last event together as Orgless Five. You guys toiled together without the support of an organisation and achieved so much. How does it feel to bid adieu to this?

antidote: This is the best stack India could ever get. In my eyes, the atmosphere within the team is the most important aspect. You may have 5 superstars in your team. But, if the atmosphere isn’t ideal, it all goes to waste. We were five friends who were having fun while also winning. It’s tough to now go our separate ways and play for different teams. It’s not the end though. Let’s see what happens in the future.

TE: Talking about sticking together, this Global Esports lineup sees the reunion of the JMD Gaming core.

DeathMaker: We had it in our hearts to reunite ever since JMD. Global Esports have finally made it happen. Hopefully we can recreate the chemistry we had at JMD. We had fun under Signify, which according to me was the best lineup I have been a part of.

antidote: I have seen DM and hellf grow in front of me, as a player and a human. I have seen their journey from up close. After I decided to join Dare2Dream, I had always wanted to play with these two. I wanted these two to come up and join me in the National scene. But, I just didn’t want to play together. I wanted to play together and win. I was waiting for them to grow their wings. Right now, I feel we are ready and I wanted to thank Global Esports for making it happen. Time to move forward now.

TE: You guys are shining examples of the talent the Bengal and North-Eastern scene holds. How good does it feel to represent your region on the National scene?

antidote: When I started in CSGO, the teams in Kolkata used to attend National events. But, we didn’t manage to get the best of results against teams from other regions. I decided to join Dare2Dream. It was a bold step but it is probably what propelled me to the heights I have managed to reach. I hoped I could be the example for other players from my region to be open to these moves. We used to think of representing the country at international events while en route to local events during our stint at JMD Gaming. I feel proud of our journey. They are both little brothers to me and I feel so happy for both of them. These guys are amazing.

DeathMaker: So I am from Silchar, Assam. I started out in 1.6 and back then, we used to move out of the region for just one event mostly, Edge – The annual Techno India fest in Kolkata. I know anti from back then. Silchar’s scene is close to non-existent. Like antidote, I also took a bold decision to come to Kolkata to play for JMD Gaming. That led me to the place I am right now. We had fun at JMD. anti was only with us back then for just 3-4 months. Me and hellf played together for over a year. I am very happy that we can reunite under the banner of Global Esports. Thanks to them for reuniting the three brothers.

TE: Talking about your lineup, there is so much versatility. You guys have three players who can AWP; everyone is good with rifles. What do you guys make of this lineup?

antidote: On paper, it is a strong lineup, We just need to create a play style where everyone feels comfortable. We are a work-in-progress. I believe the modern CSGO scene favours hybrid and fluid lineups. Each player in this lineup is capable of carrying the team and it is so important to have this in your bag. There is enough firepower in this lineup. We just need to refine our gameplay and style.

TE: Are the roles defined already within the team? What about the AWPing duties?

antidote: We are currently trying different things. The roles are yet to be set in stone. As far as AWPing is concerned, I prefer AWPing on the T Side and I am doing that. Karam1L is taking charge of the CT side. If we deploy a double AWP setup, we both AWP. We are trying to build a hybrid style where the fluidity of the game also plays a part in who AWPs or whether we AWP at all.

TE: Apart from the JMD reunion, you (antidote) are also reuniting with your Dare2Dream IGL HellRanger. Do you think it will be easier for you to fit into the lineup because you have already played under him?

antidote: It’s always fun to play with HellRanger. He is a very good IGL. We are having so much fun in this lineup. We’ve already bagged some results, winning the WESG Qualifiers, beating Pakistani team Gaming Hub in the decider. HellRanger is a good friend; a good teammate.

TE: Coming to you, DeathMaker, you received a lot of flack from the community for your choice to leave Entity for Global Esports. What do you have to say about that?

DeathMaker: I just want to clear something for the fans. Entity is a very good organisation and I have nothing but good things to say about my former teammates, who are friends outside the server as well. People have this misconception that he must have been lured by a better offer. But, that is not the case here. You can call it a childish reason but I really wanted to play with hellfightR. To the fans who are miffed about me changing teams, I understand you guys but I hope you keep supporting me here.

TE: We saw GoFigure relegate Entity and grab a spot at the ESL Masters to finally have a full Kolkata lineup representing the region in the big leagues again. How do you feel about the Esports scene in Kolkata?

antidote: I feel a sense of responsibility towards the Kolkata Esports scene, in general, thanks to the barrage of messages I get from fans and people asking about why there are no teams coming up from the region, in CSGO and in other Esports. I try and transfer what I learn through the National scene here. I love helping the region evolve. I feel so happy that GoFigure is now in Masters. They’re all friends and many of them were my teammates at one point. I also have future plans for the Kolkata Esports scene. I want to inculcate the Esports LAN culture in Kolkata, in PUBG (Mobile) and more. If we can thrive in CSGO now, we can do it in PUBG. We all know each other from LANs. I now want to bring in events in Kolkata so that the same happens in PUBG.

TE: North-East used to have one of the best teams within the Indian scene known as xM in 1.6. But, there has not been any iteration or any team for that matter coming out of the region in CSGO. You and McGiLLz are probably the only ones who have represented your region at the highest of stages in CSGO. What you think is the reason behind it?

DeathMaker: Half of the 1.6 players from the region left by the time CSGO came. They didn’t migrate. There were teams and good players initially. But, there are only a few players who are serious about doing some damage in the National scene. The scene is getting some exposure in terms of events. The thing is the players who are serious about the game will have to migrate to Kolkata or other regions if they want to do something in the scene right now. To put it bluntly, they run the risk of stagnating their own career and talent and not living up to their potential if they remain in the region, partly because there aren’t platforms that allow you to regularly compete against the best and the ones that are, there are other hinderances, like the lack of stable ISPs and more. There are some players don’t want to move but they don’t realize it is necessary to an extent.

TE: Any message you would like to people from your region?

antidote: To the gamers in Kolkata, you guys have the talent. Focus on improving your mentality; attend more LANs. Come out of your shell.

DeathMaker: To the people in North-East that want to make it big, come out, attend LANs in other regions. You guys need exposure to grow.

TE: Any shoutouts to the Global Esports fans, your fans, the scene in general.

antidote: Shoutout to Global Esports, my fans all over India. I also want to thank TalkEsport. Our connection goes long back. When I was starting out, they helped me get some exposure. They also have a tiny hand in where I am today. Keep supporting me and my team.

DeathMaker: Shoutout to the fans and friends all over India for supporting me throughout my journey. A huge thanks to Global Esports for the opportunity and to TalkEsport as well.

Vitality to EPICENTER 2019 grand final over Heroic

Vitality have advanced to the grand final of EPICENTER 2019 after taking down Heroic 2-0 (16-12 on Vertigo, and 16-12 on Inferno).

Ranked #21 on HLTV.org, Heroic did start their Semifinal B03 Series Vs Vitality on the Vertigo with Es3tag stepping up with a crisp 2k to win the pistol round on their T side. But the Frenchmen did show up with Alex securing the second round with a tactical 2k with his Desert Eagle. This loss did deal a heavy blow off to Heroicโ€™s morale with Alex the Trojan horse shutting the Danes down with a defending 3k on the B site. Things did improve for Heroic later as b0RUP did open up the B site for business to secure the 8th round on Heroicโ€™s pages and Cadian going for an aggressive 3k on the A site to earn them 5-10 when they switched sides. A collective effort from the Heroic duo of Cadian and es3tag saw them win the Pistol round by successfully defusing the C4. But with inconsistency still on the clock, the Danes did manage to win some close rounds but the Frenchmen did stop their building alliance by hook or crook. Vitality did outclass Heroic by going up 1-0 with Alex and Shox doing the honours by successfully defending the planted C4 on B site.

Starting on the defensive side, the Danes did win their Pistol round with a successful retake on the B Site. Winning the pistol round, they raced into the map with a healthy 4-0 lead but were soon stopped by the Frenchmen who did roar back with Zywoo and Alex squaring out the score. With 4-4. The Danes did show some resistance on their defence but couldnโ€™t match up with ZyWooโ€™s awareness when the Young Frenchman did clutch a 1v3 while defending the planted C4 on the A site in the 10th round. The Aftermath did make Heroic step up with their collective effort to build up a brilliant defence on the A site hence closing the half with an 8-7 scoreline. But the Danes were unable to keep the pace with Vitality taking away the pistol round on their CT side with a successful retake and a swift 3k from ZyWoo. Snappi did try to step up after a slow start in the series with a 3k to win the 19th round with a 3k but he too didnโ€™t keep up to the mark. We did see Team Heroic make some HEROIC plays with a semi buy to win the 24th round and hence giving themselves some hope in Vitalityโ€™s pick. Sadly things didnโ€™t go in Team Heroicโ€™s way as Alex did snap away from the series 2-0 with a quad kill by defending the B site from an aggressive play on the Banana.

They would now wait for the Mousesports Vs. Evil Geniuses game-winner to play against in the final.

Vici Gaming win ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore World Pro Invitational

Running through their brackets, Evil Genuises and Vici Gaming faced-off in the Grand Finals of One Esport Dota 2 World Pro Invitational in a Best-of-Five series where VG cleaned EG with a solid 3-0 series scoreline.

Just about the day before yesterday, EG demolished Gambit with a 2-0 one-sided victory. After the game, Arteezy was interviewed asking who you think are the teams that will be making ahead from the Matchups. Arteezy took no time saying he is surprised by VG having such a rough Group Stage and they are so much stronger than what they have performed.

Artour had sensed it already that it was coming.

All of the three games played today looked like VG had answers for everything EG had put on the table.

Game 1, EG settled for a mobile draft Artour on his Phantom Lancer, Abed Invoker, Ramzes Beastmaster, while VG was able to run through them with a tanky Eurus Magnus, backed up by Oriโ€™s free hitting Viper and the signature Pywโ€™s Disruptor setting the playground for VG.

Game 2, EG tried to be aggressive and managed to since the start putting RTZ on Gryo, Abed Razor, Ramzes Omniknight against Eurus Drow, Ori Viper, Pyw Rubick. Tables turned when one of the gank EG overcommitted, forced buyback on Viper but Pyw stole Guardian Angel and EG fought near VGโ€™s shrine leading EG lose four heroes and momentum turn, since then things went on within VGโ€™s favour.

Game 3, carrying the momentum from last game and VG looking to end things here they were able to draft in two signature heroes for themselves getting Eurus on Slark and Pywโ€™s Disruptor in opposition to RTZ Void, Ramzes Enigma. EG had a good team fight but VG had much sustained and the Aghanim Slark was too slippery and free hitting backed up by his friends. At times Pywโ€™s disruptor kept EG controlled as well.
