Orange Rock steals the crown from GodLike – PMPL SA Week 2 Day 1 Recap

Week 2 of PMPL SA commenced on Sunday with twenty top South Asian teams fighting for the PUBG mobile world league slots and the weekly prize money. Week 1 of the tournament finished with GodLike at the top of the leaderboard. 

Overall Standings

Day 1 of week 2 saw Orange Rock overtaking Godlike on leaderboard. Orange Rock now stands at #1 in points table with 290 points in 21 matches. GodLike slipped down from #1 to #2 on the leaderboard after day 1 of week 2. GodLike holds the second position in the leaderboard with 260 points in 17 matches. It is worth noticing that GodLike has played four matches less than Orange Rock. SynerGE is the new entry in the top 3 as it stands at #3 on the leaderboard with 255 points in 21 matches. 

Match-wise Result

  • Match 1 – Erangel – WWCD : Fnatic (9 kills)
  • Match 2 – Sanhok – WWCD : TeamIND (9 kills)
  • Match 3 – Miramar – WWCD : Orange Rock (7 kills)
  • Match 4 – Vikendi – WWCD : INES (9 kills)
  • Match 5 – Sanhok – WWCD : SynerGE (6 kills)

Kill Leaders

Seervi from SynerGE holds the top position in kill leaders with 34 kills. He is followed by MegaVeXe with 34 kills as well. VeXe stands at #2 because he dealt less damage to his enemies than Seervi. SGEaustinX stands at #3 in kill leaders with 30 kills. The kill leader of week 1, SmxkieOp,  is missing in the list because he only played one match and died early.

GodLike can easily manage to overtake OR as it has played fewer matches. TSM Entity disappointed its fans today too. The best it could do was to finish a match at third spot. SouL played well in match 4 as it got second spot in the match. Fnatic finished most of its matches in the top spots and ascended on the leaderboard. TeamIND despite getting a chicken dinner slipped down as they died in the other matches early. Megastars seems to make a comeback in the top spots as its gameplay was consistent.

Pokimane escapes Twitch ban and handed warning for NSFW content

For most of us, the name Imane ”Pokimane” Anya need no introduction and for the ones who don’t, Pokimane is one of the biggest existing twitch streamers with over 3.9 million followers who is best known for her live streams and interactions on stream, where she showcases her video gaming experiences, most notably in League of Legends and Fortnite.

Live streaming always involves the risk of unexpected to take place. This is not the first time events happened such as links redirecting to content that violates the platform’s terms of service at the hands of streamers. The same happened with Pokimane last week where Anys was reacting to user-submitted content during May 19th broadcast where one of the links she clicked on redirected her to NSFW content, apparently this happened in front of thousands of her viewers.

In no time, Pokimane panicked and screamed exiting the window right away, Although it was just for a sec, it was been witnessed live and a violation is a violation be it for a second or a minute. Anys later explained that someone must have infiltrated the private Google Doc filled with a list of approved links for her.

A downside of being popular is that you have two types of people, one that adores you in everything you do which are your fans and the others are that just don’t welcome you in anything you’re doing. The criticism was out about the situation, few of them calling out for Anys to be banned over the incident as in the past plenty of small streamers had been suspended for the same. Some others also cited the platform “double standards”.

The next day itself Pokimane shed light on during a Valorant Stream explaining that was contacted by twitch over the matter and she has been warned rather than a ban.

“Yeah, they definitely do give you a warning,” Anys said. “They’re like, ‘You have to be really careful about that kind of stuff.’ I’ve definitely had issues like that in the past, too. It’s just that I’ve been streaming for so long that it’s not very frequent — or it’s not frequent enough to lead to a ban.”

She further declared that she understands if she was to be banned, as she has “messed up in the past”, and also said that other Twitch streams have had encountered events like these and they have not been banned over it.

The outrage that is cost by an unintentional incident hasn’t cooled down users around the globe on Twitch to question, despite her explanation. Questions have arisen such as why bans and suspensions are handled down so selectively, as this isn’t the first time people have called foul on Twitch’s decision.

Ranked won’t be available in Valorant at launch

After the ground-breaking success of VALORANT during its closed beta stage, Riot Games have made announcements on the official release of the competitive shooter which is scheduled to be happening on June 2. We had discussed the details of the official VALORANT release on our previous post which included an in-depth look on the possibilities of a new agent, a new map and new servers apart from the ones that are currently available to play.

Recently, Riot has further elaborated on the details of the launch through their blog post. They stated that the closed beta will conclude on May 28, with all the queues ending on 9:00 am PT and the servers going fully offline at 10:30 am PT. 

However, the more shocking news was what the Riot devs delivered through a Reddit post. The devs mentioned that the game won’t be launching with ranked matchmaking as a feature, but it’s expected to come in a few weeks from the launch.

The ranked MMR of all players will be reset at launch, but the minimum 20 unrated games’ requirement for queuing on to ranked won’t be reset, which means that players who have played more than 20 unrated games during the closed beta can directly hop on to ranked at the very moment of its release. Some of the unrated MMR is still expected to be carried over to the official launch from the closed beta phase, but it won’t have any effect on ranked matchmaking whatsoever.

Another good news for the fans of the shooter is that the official release of VALORANT is also expected to patch up several key problems in the game the players were seen complaining about like FPS drops, ping issues and low frame rates in general.

Olofmeister has been on the apex of professional Counter Strike:Global Offensive pro scene for as long as one can remember, having seen things in Overpass which no one will ever see again, it is natural for him to lack the motivation and drive which kept him going for all these years.

FaZe Clan takes on GODSENT for DreamHack Masters Spring’s opening match tomorrow, while it is certain that Olof won’t be one of the five players who will participate in FaZe colours tomorrow, reports suggest FaZe have their prying eyes on 16-year-old Lithuanian prodigy Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras.

Much like broky, bymas in an unknown quantity to the professional scene, and like many upcoming talents, his reputation precedes from FPL. The 16 year old has a foray with 1337HUANIA under his belt where he helped them secure Baltic Masters Season 3, arguably being their best performer. Last October saw him win the Faceit Pro League and his presumed arrival at FaZe Clan will be his first tournament under a professional organization.

Nikola ‘Niko’ Kovac’s hunches about prodigies have ended on a high note so far. Other ropz, sergej, and huNter mesmerizing the professional scene with their skills, one other thing they have in common was getting handpicked by niko to be labeled as an upcoming star, which the Bosnian did for Bymas last year in an interview with HLTV.

There’s this guy Bymas from FPL who really surprised me. I watched him a couple of times and I think he’s pretty good and a pretty versatile player. He’s not going to be in the Top 20 next year, but I believe he’s going to be a big thing. I believe he has the potential to make it to the top and do some good things.

Olofmeister steps down from FaZe Clan

Amid exhaustion and losing motivation, Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer has decided to take a break from competitive Counter-Strike. 28-year-old will step down from active lineup of FaZe Clan with immediate effect. In a Twitter post, FaZe Clan unveiled the grieving move, however, the organization has not hinted about a temporary replacement.

Olof revealed that he felt highly washed out for quite some time. He further said that his motivation levels had dropped and that didn’t do justice to the organization, teammates and perhaps himself. Swede intended to take a break to regain his motivation and  then think about his future. 

At present, it is unclear whether he will be coming back to the active lineup of FaZe Clan in future or otherwise. However, Olof had taken a similar break in April 2018. The veteran was back on the server in about 100 days with a firm vigour.

Olof joined the North-American organization in August 2017. During his tenure at FaZe Clan, they triumphed at ESL One: New York 2017, ELEAGUE Premier 2017, ECS S4, EPICENTER 2018, BLAST Pro Series: Miami 2019 and BLAST Pro Series: Copenhagen 2019. 

Although, his performance at the recently held ESL Pro League S11 (Europe) and ESL One: Road to Rio 2020 has been unsatisfactory.

CSGO: YEKINDAR joins Virtus Pro

Virtus Pro have announced their first roster change since they picked up the AVANGAR lineup. Timur ‘buster: Tulepov will move to the bench as he takes a short break. The 20-year-old will be replaced by Mareks ‘YEKINDAR’ Galinskis.

The Latvian rifler established himself as one of the rising talents to take note of in the CIS region during his time at pro100, wherein he averaged a rating of 1.11.

YEKINDAR led pro100 to consecutive circuit wins at DreamHack Delhi Invitational 2019 and Qi Banja Luka 2019 by finishing both the events as the highest rated player.

YEKINDAR recently won the FPL EU division for April and will now be raring to get on the server as a part of Virtus Pro, who were seemingly in a rut. It will be interesting to see how this change reflects in their results and performances.

These are not the only changes to take place. Virtus Pro have also added a second coach in Alexey ‘Flatra’ Zlobich, with Maxim ‘MaAd’ Goncharov joining as an analytical psychologist.

GodLike and Orange Rock overtake TSM Entity! PMPL SA Day 4 Recap

Week 1 of PMPL SA ended with gameplay of day 4. After four days of intense battles for chicken dinners, the week finally came to an end and presented to us the winners of week 1 of PMPL SA. 

GodLike finally won the week 1 of PMPL SA with three chicken dinners and its consistent gameplay. GodLike earned 254 points in 16 matches. Orange Rock stands at #2 with four chicken dinners and 241 points. TSM-Entity tried its best but was unable to save its top spot. TSM-Entity finished the week at #3 with 2 chicken dinners and 194 points. 

The main highlight of the day was Orange Rock winning three matches out of five. Orange Rock won the chicken dinner in match 2, 4 and 5 and proved that it is a worthy contender for the PUBG Mobile world league slot. GodLike also took chicken dinner in the very first match of the day that took place in Erangel. GodLike was pretty consistent in other matches which helped it to hold off OR at #2. SouL also won the third match of the day that was played in Sanhok. 

SmxkieOp, the frontline assaulter of GodLike took the prize money of $500 as he stands at #1 in the kill leaders. SmxkieOp eliminated 28 enemies in 16 matches to top the table. He is followed by Neyoo and Jonathan from TSM-Entity. SmxkieOp and Neyoo fought hard until the last match for top spot in kill leaders. Unfortunately, TSM-Entity got eliminated early in the last match and Smxkieop got the opportunity to win the prize of $500.

TSM sign Valorant roster ft. Subroza and Wardell

TSM revealed their roster which will surely get the fanbase hyped for Valorant’s first competitive season. The roster includes Mathhew “Wardell” Yu, James “Hazed” Cobb, Yassine “Subroza” Taufik, Stephen “Cutler” Cutler and Talor “Drone” Johnson.

The video posted by TSM on their official Twitter handle shows some of the incredible plays made by the players in their roster to fuel some fire & so far the feedback has been really positive. Aside from Drone, each player in the roster had been previously a part of CS:GO, team. Many more CSGO professional players have already transitioned to Valorant, and it won’t be a surprise if more Valorant teams are formed in such a fashion.

The group showed a dominating performance under the team name “mouseSpaz” during the beta and stood first in multiple tournaments held throughout April & May. TSM must have found the potential in this roster so they decided to absorb the entire team. We are sure that communication and chemistry will prove clutch for this new team and they will surely come out as top contenders in the Valorant’s competitive scene.

Valorant goes live on 2nd June, the inaugural season will follow quickly as well. Fans are looking forward for a strong debut by this TSM’s Valorant roster under the coach Taylor “Tailored” Broomall.

Riot’s new competitive shooter named VALORANT had made a successful closed beta debut on April 7th this year. Despite its small flaws in the game mechanics or the anti-cheat system, it has yet managed to win the hearts of millions of fans worldwide with its unique gameplay, constant updates, and great interaction with the community from developers. Furthermore, it may have also forced Valve to ship out a steady stream of updates on their title – CS:GO.

Recently Riot had announced the news of VALORANT moving out of its closed beta stage and making an official release. Through another blog post, they have elaborated on that. 

We have compiled together all the information that’s known so far regarding the official release of VALORANT. Here’s everything you need to know:

Release Date

Previously, Riot had announced that the final release of VALORANT was scheduled to be in Summer 2020, and it seems like they’re sticking to their words.

After about six weeks of undergoing a closed beta phase, an official release date for VALORANT was finally confirmed through a blog post on May 21. As we had covered earlier, Riot has claimed that VALORANT will officially light up on June 2nd.

Currently, VALORANT is only available for certain specific countries, but after the official release the game will be made accessible for all the regions across the globe.

New Agent

Though not officially announced, the latest blog post on VALORANT’s official website teases a new agent besides the ones currently available to play during the closed beta.

While mentioning their preparations for the final launch of VALORANT, Riot left a picture in between the paragraphs which possibly teases the launch of a new agent in the game.

The image shows all the currently available agents in the game side-by-side, but if you take a closer glance towards the right of the picture, you can clearly see part of an extra leg (which possibly belongs to the upcoming new agent).

New Map

The CGI trailer which Riot released for VALORANT on May 21 shows off a new map for the game which hasn’t been released yet.

Screen grabs from the new maps had already surfaced previously, and the new trailer showcases it more precisely as Jett and Phoenix are seen flexing their skills.

The new map is rumoured to be called Ascent and was previously datamined by a Redditor who claimed that the new map can be themed after Italy.

Epic Games are known for taking unorthodox methods to keep their flagship multiplayer FPS in the conversation of the world’s elite multiplayer titles. From pushing prize pool as high as it carries the potential to rival that of Dota’s to hosting concerts of the likes of Marshmallow and Travis Scott in the game.

Their latest step involves the full-length screening of an iconic Christopher Nolan film. The trailer of Tent, the upcoming action thriller directed by Nolan set to make its debut in the theaters mid-July of 2020, was premiered in the game this week.

Post premiere of the trailer, Canadian host Geoff Keighley tweeted “Just announced during the Tenet trailer premiere – Christopher Nolan is bringing one of his iconic films to @FortniteGame this summer for a full length free screening for fans!”

EPIC Creative Director Donald Mustard said “The idea of debuting the TENET trailer came from a phone call with Christopher Nolan. We were all talking about our love of seeing new trailers in a THEATER and how sad we were that we can’t do that right now – but how maybe this could be the next best thing. Hope you love it!”

Full-length screening of a movie in a game like Fortnite helps Nolan to a great extent, although the world is familiar with Nolan’s mastery over filmmaking, the Fortnite’s player base which is largely populated by players who are in their early teens can get attracted to Nonal’s movies, which will indefinitely bring in potential fans for the near future.
