New Valorant Map Codenamed ‘Canyon’ Leaked by Dataminers

0

It has been a while since Riot Games’ tactical shooter Valorant received a new map. The latest map, Breeze, was added to the title on April 27, 2021 alongside the release of Episode 2 Act 2. However, it seems like a new Valorant map might be nearing its release as Dataminers have dug up game files that may hint towards the upcoming map of the shooter.

Prominent Valorant dataminers ‘floxay’ and ‘Mike’ have managed to dig deep into the game files to find hints towards the next Valorant map. While the finer details are still unknown to us, the codename for the new Valorant map is expected to be ‘Canyon’, as revealed by the dataminers.

However, the name for the upcoming map hasn’t been confirmed by Riot Games themselves. The codename is currently only a speculation, but fans can expect to know more about the map in the near future.

Valorant New Map ‘Canyon’ Release Date

While no specific release date has been set in stone as of yet, we do have a general idea on when the new map might make its appearance on the live servers.

Judging by Riot Games’ history of releasing new maps alongside the third episode of each Act, the new map ‘Canyon’ is expected to launch with Episode 3 Act 3.

For reference, the controversial map Icebox was released with Episode 1 Act 3, while Breeze hit the live servers alongside Episode 2 Act 3.

xQc banned from Twitch for the 5th time

0

Popular video game streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel is no stranger to Twitch bans, and it seems like he has made it to the headlines once again after receiving his fifth ban from the streaming platform today.

This makes it the second Twitch ban that the 25-year-old has received within the span of a month.

The ban was initially reported by ‘StreamerBans’ on Twitter. However, the specific reason behind this ban is still unclear at the time of writing.

While the duration of the ban hasn’t been revealed, it’s highly likely that this is only a temporary ban.

Previously, the former Overwatch pro found himself banned from Twitch after he live streamed an event from the 2021 Tokyo Olympics on the platform. He later informed his fans about the status of his ban through a Tweet posted shortly afterwards. The July 29th ban lasted five hours before the star was unbanned from the platform.

Neither xQc nor Twitch has come up with a statement behind the reason for his August 14th ban. However, considering the insane popularity of xQc, he’s likely to be back before long.

GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas to be remastered soon

0

GTA 6 is still quite some years away, and with GTA V Enhanced Edition releasing this November, it seems that fans will have to stick to older GTA titles as Rumours of a remastered trilogy collection containing GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas have recently surfaced.

According to Kotaku, all three games will be bundled together and are being remastered using Unreal Engine while the UI will be going through a major visual overhaul as well.

The remastered trilogy is being developed by Rockstar Dundee, previously known as Ruffian Games who had worked on Halo: Master Chief Collection for Xbox and PC as well as Crackdown 2 and 3. Ruffian Games had been working with Rockstar on “unspecified” games, before being acquired by Rockstar last year.

This leak seems to fall in line with Rockstar’s Previous announcement, as they said the following in their newswire article “In honor of the upcoming 20th anniversary of the genre-defining Grand Theft Auto III, we’ll have even more fun surprises to share — including some specifically for GTA Online players.”

Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive has also teased the supposed trilogy during their investor calls. When questioned about the rumors, Strauss Zelnick stated “I’m kind of inclined to leave it more as a statement than a question. And any updates on  our release schedule will come from Rockstar Games.” Furthermore, when an investor inquired about Ruffian Games’ role, Strauss replied “We’re thrilled to welcome the Ruffian team to Rockstar Games and to Take-Two and we think they’re an extraordinarily talented team and we’re looking forward to them becoming a part of Rockstar Games. And beyond that, there’ll be more announcements in due time.

Both VGC and Kotaku have claimed that the trilogy will release on Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles, with a PC release later down the line.

While none of these reports have been confirmed, it would make sense given how GTA 3’s 20 year anniversary is approaching soon.
