xQc claims to have an idea that would revolutionize Twitch

0

Felix Lengyel aka xQc is one the biggest streamers on Twitch at the moment, a certainly a very opinionated and vocal person, during a conversation with one of Twitch’s employees, he pitched an idea that he believes would revolutionize the platform.

Twitch is already the most popular streaming platform out there and even with the constant threat of YouTube and Facebook Gaming, it remains unfazed and confident that its platform has enough to outlast its competitors.

The Amazon-owned streaming platform has constantly worked to introduce new features and optimize the old ones for the streamers and the audience, but xQc thinks there is still more they can do to keep the competition in check who are catching up at an alarming pace.

“People want clips. People want to see top clips. People want to see what happened today on this forsaken platform,” he said.

“I don’t have time to watch all the streams. But I do have a little bit of time and I want a highlight reel of all the streamers I’m interested in or another section about what happened today on Twitch. What happened today in the realm of live content.”

Keeping in mind that Twitch already offers a recommendation system that pulls up clips that it believes the particular user would find interesting, he said, “Clips we think you’ll like? F**k off, dude. I don’t think so. How about you give me clips that people like today. Clips that people watch today.”.

xQc’s idea was apparently liked by Pluto and seemed like would run it by the guys over at Twitch and if things go well, we might actually see it get to come to fruition.

Free Fire OB31 Update: All You Need To Know

Every few months, Free Fire receives upgrades that enhance its experience. The previous version, dubbed the OB30 patch, was published in late September and offered a significant quantity of new material.

Users are already looking forward to the upcoming OB31 update and are waiting with bated breath for it to arrive. Here’s when players might be able to get their hands on it.

Although this is one of the most discussed subjects in the game’s community, the developers have yet to announce a release date for the OB31 update.

The preceding releases, on the other hand, followed a pattern in that they were released a day before the end of the Clash Squad Ranked Season and Gold Royale.

Given that the current season and Gold Royale will expire on December 1, 2021, the OB31 patch might arrive as early as November 30, 2021, which is only three weeks away.

On the day of the patch, there will be a maintenance break, and users will be unable to access the game.  This usually occurs between the hours of 9:30 a.m. IST (GMT +5.30) and 6:00 p.m. IST (GMT +5.30).

However, it should be noted that this is simply a guesstimation, and Garena will give a precise release date in the coming weeks, so players should stay tuned.

Additionally, before OB31 is released, a Free Fire Advanced Server will most likely be made accessible, allowing users to test out the new capabilities before they are officially implemented.

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened Rakes In $228 Million In Revenue Just Two Months After Its Launch

0

Mobile game Harry Potter: Magic Awakened based on the legendary Warner Bros series — Harry Potter, has generated more than $228 Million in revenue since its launch on 9th September 2021.

The game is developed by Warner Bros and NetEase under the publisher Portkey Games. The game was released as part of WB’s initiative to celebrate the upcoming 20th year release anniversary of Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone–also known as The Sorcerer’s Stone–in cinemas. The game was first released in China and Taiwan on 9 September 2021. Right now, WB plans to first release the game in the Asian market by the end of this year and then release the game worldwide starting next year.

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened is an RPG story-telling and card-based combat game. Its story starts ten years after the final Battle of Hogwarts i.e. 10 years after the final battle in Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: part 2. The game story follows the adventures of a muggle-born young boy who receives an unexpected visit from giant Rubeus Hagrid. Hagrid came to deliver the letter of acceptance to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Later he explains about the existence of the wizarding world and asks the player to accompany him to Diagon Alley where they will purchase necessary supplies for the first year of school. Upon the player’s arrival at Hogwarts, a mystery begins to unfold on the grounds where one of the first years, Ivy Warrington, goes mysteriously missing after the Sorting Ceremony. Thus kick-starting the beginning of adventures of players at Hogwarts.

The story is heavily borrowed from the first book of the series masking it an instant banger for fans of the series.

In terms of global player spending across the different games released under the Harry Potter IP, Magic Awakened already cements its place on the No. 2. While the No. 1 title is Hogwarts Mystery released in 2018, which has made approximately $342 million to date. Ranking No. 3 is Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells from Zynga released in 2020 with about $135 million in revenue. While Harry Potter: Wizards Unite from Niantic, launched in 2019 in partnership with Warner Bros, ranks No. 4 with only $39.4 million and will shut down next year.

The early success of the Magic Awakened easily marks the game as the best game implementation of the franchise IP and with the worldwide release next year the game will surely make more in revenue.

How do Finns compete in the international esports world?

0

The world of esports is growing exponentially and is creating world-class athletes in countries around the globe.

One particular country has seen a very serious rise in esports tournaments and hard-to-beat players. The country in question is Finland and it appears to be making waves in the esports world.

Finland chose to officially recognize esports players back in 2017. This ruling meant that every professional player’s earnings are taxed. But did you know that a specific portion of their earnings and winnings is set aside? This is so the players can enjoy a tax-free fund that they’ll have access to when they retire.

Online casinos and esports

It’s no wonder that esports has taken off in Finland. After all, it is a nation of online gamblers. Many Finns take great pleasure in visiting Betsafe and other online casinos. Plenty of Finns also place a bet on esports, which makes sense now that they take it seriously.

There’s no doubt about it – esports and online gambling work hand in hand. Professional esports athletes do their thing and those who like a flutter also do their thing. It’s an almost perfect symbiotic relationship.

Earning big money

Finland is home to some of the best esports players in the world. Top players such as JerAx, Lasse Aukusti Urpalainen and Topias Taavitsainen have won millions of dollars so far. Finland is also home to the world’s highest-earning team, with Team Gigantti taking home more than $200,000. This just goes to show how serious the world of esports has become.

Just over a decade ago, only a handful of people had the chance to make money from gaming. Game designers and programmers were pretty much the only people who could take money home thanks to their hobby. Now things have changed and the world of gaming is helping many people earn more money than they ever thought possible.

Finnish esports tournaments

Back in 2019, esports was established as part of the Finnish Olympic Committee. The assembly tournament that takes place every other year has quickly become one of the best esports competitions in the world. Professional and amateur Finnish teams and players compete to win a range of titles. International competitions also take place, attracting serious esports competitors from all over the world.

Building a career

As we have already seen, Finnish esports players have the potential to earn big money. Many young people who love nothing more than to spend hours gaming can now make a career out of it. It’s such serious business that even the Finnish government helps young people to make their way into the esports industry. This is a dynamic and ever-growing industry that seems to be taking the world by storm.

It seems that there’s a real opportunity in Finland for many gamers to make a career out of their hobbies and earn big bucks. What a time to be alive!

Esports academy

Finland’s government doesn’t just hold an esports tournament, they also offer youngsters the chance to attend an academy. This academy runs for four weeks during the summer months and encourages casual gamers as well as rising stars to do what they do best.

The academy’s instructors spend their days helping the attendees boost their knowledge of the industry while ensuring they hone their skills. This is indeed very serious business, more so than many people realize. For the full four weeks, attendees are encouraged to reach a more professional standard in the hope that they too can reach the big time.

While this four-week academy may seem quite intense, it’s something that a lot of gamers opt for. In just four weeks, they can move from an amateur to an upcoming professional. However, the work is hard and the hours are relentless. For huge fans of gaming, though, it can seem like a real labor of love.

Finnish colleges and esports

If the four-week academy did not surprise you, you might be surprised by what some Finnish colleges are offering. Some colleges in Finland now offer people the chance to study esports. So, not only can they spend hours in their homes playing their favorite games, they can also study the subject.

The college courses in question ensure that students get the mentoring and can use the tools they need to become elite, professional athletes. This is something that Finland seems very adept at producing.

So how do Finns compete in the international esports world? It appears they compete very well. Sooner or later, the Finns could become a real force to be reckoned with.

Fortnite Servers to Shut Down in China

0

Fortnite is one of the most popular modern-day battle royales out there in the video gaming world. The title by Epic Games has set several records in terms of player base and continues to be enjoyed by millions of fans worldwide to this day since its initial release in July 2017.

Unfortunately, players in China will no longer be able to enjoy Fortnite as Epic Games has announced that the company is going to shut down all the live servers in the country.

This comes after the decision of the National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) in China to limit the gaming time of children. NPPA, which is the main regulatory body for media and video games in China, has limited the video gaming time of anyone under 18 years of age to only three hours a week through a new set of rules in August 2021. Children are only allowed to play games for one hour each day over the weekend.

About a month after the new rules were introduced, an announcement on Fortnite’s official Chinese website confirmed that the servers for the Battle Royale will be permanently shut down in China.

Players in China will not be able to register a new account or download the game starting November 1, 2021, while the Fortnite servers in China will remain active till November 15th. The servers will be shut down afterwards.

While Epic Games has thanked the Chinese community for supporting Fortnite, no official reason was given regarding why the servers were being shut down.

Na’Vi is the Only CSGO Team to Win a Major Without Dropping a Single Map

Ukrainian esports organization Natus Vincere were clearly the fan-favourites to win the highly anticipated PGL Major Stockholm 2021, the first major that CSGO had seen in over two years. And needless to say, the team delivered.

On 7th November, Na’Vi secured a flawless 2-0 victory over G2 Esports in the grand finals of the PGL Major, making them the first team to win a CSGO major without dropping a single map throughout the event.

While each member of the Na’Vi roster put up great performances, the star of the show was none other than the legendary AWPer Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev. The 24-year-old led his team to victory with a K/D of 32-17 on the first map and 40-24 on the second.

The first map, Ancient, went relatively smoothly for Na’Vi as they managed to secure a 16-11 victory over their rivals. However, Nuke was a completely different story.

Going into the second map, G2 retaliated hard, and swiftly managed to put up 15 rounds on the board while Na’Vi were still at 10. However, a few stellar performances from s1mple paved the way for Na’Vi to take the match into overtime. Another overtime followed once the score tied at 18-18.

The match ended with a score of 22-19, and the Na’Vi squad jumped out of their seats in unison after taking the final frag of Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, celebrating their victory.

“A lot of people didn’t believe in me and made jokes, but I f*cking did it,” S1mple said, exhilarated in the post-match interview. “The Major is ours, the major is NaVi’s. I told, we just needed to believe in ourselves, and we were going to win… We just kept fighting. I am so proud of my team, the f*cking champions! Just look at them, the champions!”

This is the first CSGO major trophy s1mple has won, and it comes after five years with the Na’Vi squad. The CSGO world is delighted at s1mple’s major victory, as no one deserved the crown more than he did. The official CSGO Twitter handle referred to s1mple as “The king of Counter-Strike” in their congratulatory Tweet to Na’Vi.
