The head coach of the Gentle Mates Counter-Strike 2 roster will be unable to attend the remainder of PGL Masters Bucharest 2025.
According to an X post made on the official Gentle Mates handle on October 28th, Eloy “deLonge” Suárez will be missing out on the rest of the CS2 event due to “personal reasons.”
“He’s had a big impact on the team and our journey so far,” the org said in a statement. “He has our full support, and we remain fully focused on the rest of the competition.”
At the time of writing, the PGL Masters Bucharest is in full swing. Gentle Mates have already found themselves on the brink of elimination twice, but managed to pull through with back-to-back wins over Ninjas in Pyjamas and BetBoom. They now stand just one victory away from securing a spot in the playoffs.
The organization has yet to confirm whether assistant coach Angel “repk3ys” Navarro will step in to fill the void left by deLonge for the remainder of the tournament.
Losing their head coach is undoubtedly a significant setback for Gentle Mates, but fans will be eager to see how the team adapts and performs in the matches ahead.
