The ongoing Ukraine-Russian conflict has resulted in a chain reaction to different aspects in the Russian markets which does include Steam, Valve’s video game digital distribution service as all purchases through credit cards have reportedly been failing.

A series of transactions failures have been reported by the Steam Status on their Twitter handle as credit cards all the Russian territory seem to have been either decommissioned by their parent companies or its just another service outage against Russia’s decision to invade Ukraine.

Ever since the Russian invasion on Ukraine, massive business conglomerates have decided to either pull out of the CIS region or discontinue their services until there is clarity on the political tensions although there has been a massive support in interest of Ukraine.

With that being said, transaction failures on Steam is yet another kind of retaliation in the bid for a peace treaty which the world demands.

Earlier, the organizers at BLAST Premier decided to terminate the qualifiers for the CIS region as they barred the teams from participating in their tournaments until further notice.

Similarly, Ukrainian Esports organization WePlay Esports terminated the contracts with their partners from the Russian federation. Irrespective of any judgements, the world stands against the ongoing invasion and the Esports community has undoubtedly been a part of the resistance.
