Loki has been disabled from Marvel Rivals matchmaking ahead of the game’s highly anticipated Season 10 launch, rendering players unable to pick the Strategist in Quick Play, Arcade, Practice vs. AI, and 18 vs. 18 modes.
Upon checking his character select screen or trying to view him in-game, he is listed as “missing.” Other characters in the Marvel Rivals roster remain untouched.
As per community speculation, Loki’s disappearance from Marvel Rivals is likely to be a deliberate marketing tease from NetEase to hype up the Season 10 launch.
The Marvel Rivals devs have already confirmed that Season 10 will launch on Friday, September 11, 2026, closing out the current season after roughly nine weeks.
Prior to every major update, the studio typically publishes a “Dev Vision” blog outlining what’s to come in the upcoming patch, followed shortly after by a hero reveal trailer. The timing of Loki’s removal syncs up perfectly with this cycle, with the Dev Vision blog likely to drop later today.
As for what’s actually coming, Season 10 is shaping up to be one of the bigger updates of the year. It’s expected to introduce the game’s 54th playable hero, a fresh Battle Pass, new events, cosmetics, and more. NetEase hasn’t officially named the new additions, but leaks point strongly toward Gorr the God Butcher joining the roster as the game’s newest Duelist.
If you’re a Loki main, don’t worry about losing him for good. He is currently playable in the ranked game mode and is expected to officially return in all queues once Season 10 officially goes live.
