Valorant is a team-based 5v5 tactical shooter where each Agent/Playable character has their own set of skills and abilities which can give you an edge in certain situations. These agents can either be Duelists, Sentinels, Initiators, or Controllers. Valorant initially launched with 10 Agents during its beta period but with the release of Patch 3.0 a.k.a Valorant Episode 3: Act 1, it’ll be introducing its seventeenth Agent, ‘Kay/O’. All new players will have access to a total of 5 Agents and can unlock two more Agents at levels 5 and 10 respectively.

How to unlock Agents in Valorant for Free?

While gunplay is a very important factor in Valorant, an Agent’s ability combined with your weapon can change the round in your favor, depending on how you utilize them so it is important to have a diverse pool of Agents to choose from. Here’s how you can unlock Agents faster in Valorant for free.

After unlocking your two free Agents when you reach level 5 and level 10, you’ll have the option to unlock the rest of the agents through their individual contracts, this is called Agent Contracts.

Simply go to Collections > Agents and you’ll be greeted by a list of all agents, both locked and unlocked. Select a locked agent and press the Activate button which enables that specific Agent’s contract. You’ll need to reach Tier 5 of the said contract to unlock the selected Agent, and you’ll need ~250,000 XP to get to Tier 5 and ~900,000 to complete the entire contract.

While you can start contracts for multiple Agents, you can only keep one contract active at a time but you can switch between them without resetting any XP progression. To get XP fast, try completing all Daily and Weekly challenges which should get you anywhere from 3,500 to 7,500 XP in no time.

How to unlock Agents in Valorant using Valorant Points?

If you’re too impatient to grind for Agents, you can unlock them instantly by redeeming 1,000 Valorant Points which costs $10, and given how you’ll have about 10 Agents left to unlock, you’ll have to spend about ~$100 to unlock all of them. You can also use Valorant Points to buy the upcoming season’s Battle Pass or Skin packs for your weapons.
