Fortnite’s v41.10 update has added the Boss Sprite, one of five new Sprites arriving in Chapter 7 Season 3. It boosts max health and shield, making it one of the more useful companions for players who want to survive longer in fights.
Here’s how to get the Boss Sprite, where to find it, and what it does once equipped.
How to get the Boss Sprite in Fortnite
The main way to get a Boss Sprite is by eliminating a boss. When a boss goes down, it drops the Sprite along with its Mythic item.
There are three bosses in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 right now:
- Voidblade
- Wolfe
- Skeletor
Since there are only three bosses, only three Boss Sprites can drop this way in a single match.
Unlike earlier seasons, these bosses don’t spawn in one fixed spot. Each one can appear at several possible locations across the map, and all three bosses share the same set of potential spawn points. That means you won’t always know where to find them at the start of a match.
This randomness can actually work in your favor. In past seasons, players would rush straight to a boss’s known location, leading to chaotic early fights. Now, since nobody knows exactly where a boss will show up, matches play out with more variation instead of an immediate scramble.
Other ways to get a Boss Sprite
Eliminating bosses is the most reliable method, but it’s not the only one. You can also get a Boss Sprite from:
- Sprite Chests and regular Chests
- Eliminating a player who is carrying one
- Trading with other players
This applies to the standard Boss Sprite as well as its Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy variants.
Trading has become a regular part of Fortnite this season. If you don’t want to hunt down a boss yourself, you can get a Boss Sprite from an enemy who already has one equipped, or arrange for another player to drop it for you in a match.
How to secure the Boss Sprite
Finding or earning a Boss Sprite isn’t enough on its own. You need to extract it to add it permanently to your Sprite Collection.
You can do this at an Extraction Point or with a Portable Extractor. A Portable Extractor is the better option if you want to stay hidden, since it lets you secure the Sprite without exposing your location the way an Extraction Point might.
Once a Boss Sprite is in your collection, you can summon it again at the start of future matches if you ever lose it during a run.
What does the Boss Sprite do in Fortnite?
The Boss Sprite increases your max health and shield while equipped. It works similarly to the “Become a Boss” medallion from earlier seasons, letting you absorb more damage than usual.
The buff grows stronger as you level up the Sprite:
- Level 1: +5 Health and Shield
- Level 2: +10 Health and Shield
- Level 3: +15 Health and Shield
- Level 4: +20 Health and Shield
- Level 5: +20 Health and Shield
Because the bonus scales with level, players aiming for survivability should prioritize leveling this Sprite up early in the season.
