How to Get the Striker Sprite in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 has a new mid-season update, and it brought five new Sprites to the game. One of them is the Striker Sprite, a soccer-themed item tied to the ongoing FIFA World Cup celebrations in-game.

Here is how to get the Striker Sprite, where to find it, and what it does once you equip it.

Where to Find the Striker Sprite

The Striker Sprite is not a random chest drop like most other Sprites in Fortnite. You get it by scoring a goal at the new Soccer Pitch.

This Soccer Pitch was added with the Fortnite 41.10 update. It sits southeast of the Heatwave Harbor point of interest, right next to The Quackaway landmark on the Chapter 7 Season 3 map.

To score, find the ball on the pitch and carry it toward either goalpost using your feet. Aim your crosshair at the goal as you run. Once you’re close enough, keep running into the net, or pickaxe the ball to knock it in. A whistle and sirens will sound when you score, and the ball will turn into the Striker Sprite.

If you’re playing in a squad, every player can score their own goal to get a Striker Sprite for themselves.

Other Ways to Get the Striker Sprite

Scoring a goal isn’t the only route. You can also get the Striker Sprite by eliminating an opponent who already has it equipped or sitting in their inventory. This might actually be the faster option early on, since most players will be rushing toward the Soccer Pitch to score for themselves.

You can also just pick up a Striker Sprite that another player drops, which makes trading with friends an easy way to fill out your collection.

As for chests, don’t bother looking. The Striker Sprite skips the usual loot pool entirely, so regular Sprite Chests and floor loot won’t give you one. If a goal isn’t happening for you, elimination or scavenging a dropped Sprite is the way in.

What Does the Striker Sprite Do in Fortnite?

Once equipped, the Striker Sprite gives you the Overdrive effect every time you Mantle or Hurdle. So the climbing and jumping you’d already be doing during a fight now doubles as a speed boost, no extra item needed.

That’s the real difference from something like an Overdrive Grenade. A grenade gives you one temporary boost, then it’s gone. The Sprite refreshes the buff every time you move, which makes it a lot easier to stay on top of someone you’re chasing.

It works just as well on defense. Running from the storm? Build a wall, mantle over it, and you’ve got Overdrive while you reposition. Less damage taken, no extra steps.

Striker Sprite Buff Duration by Level

The length of the Overdrive effect depends on your Sprite‘s level. Here’s how it scales:

Striker Sprite LevelOverdrive Buff Duration
Level 16 seconds
Level 27 seconds
Level 38 seconds
Level 49 seconds
Level 510 seconds

Even at level 1, six seconds of free Overdrive is nothing to scoff at mid-fight. Push the Sprite to level 5, though, and that window nearly doubles to ten seconds, which is the real reason to keep using it once you’ve got one.
