FIFA 23: Release date, Latest news, pricing, features, and more

With the FIFA World Cup starting in November 2022, many fans are expecting the release of the latest FIFA 2023 in order to get the most of the tournament by complementing the excitement of real games with an almost real experience of playing provided by the best technology available in videogames.

FIFA 23 new features

Aside from what we already mentioned, FIFA 23 is also special because it has some new features that are also marking a change in the football video games culture. 

Aside from the regular FIFA World Cup, the new FIFA 23 will allow players to play the Women’s World Cup. Also, women’s club teams will be available for the first time. This is a massive change toward women’s equality in sports. Thus, FIFA 23 will probably stay on the record for coming up with a game that engages gender equality.

Another relevant change is that FIFA 23 will allow crossplay in one versus one game. This means that players using different systems will be able to share a game.

Regarding technological upgrades introduced in FIFA 23, the game will include HyperMotion 2 which will create even more realistic players and contexts. 

A new feature on FIFA 2023 is Power Shots, which allows players to use all their power to release epic strikes. Even though you will have to work on accuracy when using Power Shots, if you get it right you will be able to create the most amazing goals. 

How to get FIFA 2023?

With fans already showing signs of anxiety, after the release date was confirmed, pre-orders became available.

Sites like Amazon or GAME allow customers to get pre-orders on the game. When placing the pre-order you will be able to choose the Standard Edition or the Ultimate Edition of the game. If you pick the Ultimate Edition, you will get early access to the game on 27 September. 

If you can’t wait for that much, you still have another chance to access the game earlier through the Closed Data that the company usually releases before the actual release of the game in order to get feedback from users and make the latest adjustments, if needed.

Even though there is still no official information about when the beta version will be released, it is expected to happen sometime in August. 

How much will FIFA 23 cost?

With a release date already confirmed and the pre-order process opened, the prices of FIFA 23 can now be easily established. The FIFA 23 Standard Edition price is approximately $59.99 in the United States, while the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition costs $89.99.

As we said before, buying the Ultimate Edition will give you access to the game three days before the release date, which for many players means getting more chances to practice before other players can access the game.

How to fix Discord Freezing After Closing Valorant?

Here are some steps to be followed to prevent Discord freezing up while playing a game of League of Legends or Valorant.

  1. Log on to your Discord account.
  2. Select User Settings from the bottom left corner near your Discord ID.
  3. Navigate to the “App Settings.”
  4. Select Voice and Video Settings.
  5. Upon scrolling down, you would see the “Debug Logging” option which would be turned on by default. 
  6. Disable the Debug Logging option
  7. Discord will now restart for the changes to take effect.

This would solve the issue where Discord randomly freezes while you’re in-game.

Here is an alternative step for the League of Legends players who reported the application to freeze out upon closing the League of LegendClClient.

Note : This fix is exclusively for the League Of Legends players.

  1. Open your League client.
  2. Go to client settings on the top right corner.
  3. Get to the General Settings tab.
  4. From the drop down, locate “Close client during game.”
  5. Turn this setting to “Never” from “As Needed.”

Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, winner of two Major championships, has announced that he intends to step away from competitive play of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive by the end of 2023.

This was discussed in the most recent episode of the popular esports-related podcast known as the “Monkey Business Show,” which is hosted by Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, the founder of OG, and Juan M.R. Luna (CEO of OG).

The legendary Brazilian player has actually discussed his retirement plans in the past, so this is not the first time that he has done so. “I want to play for maybe a year and a half, but that’s it,” he remarked at IEM Cologne 2022.

The 31-year-old did, however, go on to explain in detail what he hopes to do once he finishes fighting professionally, despite being torn between three different paths all related to esports or gaming.

FalleN’s second option is to get into streaming and content creation because he enjoys making videos and also because he wants to spend more time at home. “I really enjoy streaming, I really enjoy coming up with material, and I really enjoy interacting with other people. Streaming is quite fantastic since it would allow me to stay at home, which is something that I think about, and it’s something that I look forward to.

The third approach, which is completely different but appealing to FalleN, is to develop and train the future generation of CS:GO players from Brazil.

Twitchcon 2022 had been quite fun for many with popular streamers appearing and fans having the chance to meet their favorite streamers IRL. While the event in Amsterdam ended earlier this month, the controversies surrounding Twitchcon have now started unfolding. 

While many fans were elated to meet their favorite streamers like Pokimane, some fans claimed that they had been harassed by former Twitch partner JiDion while waiting to meet TommyInnit.

TommyInnit is a popular British Minecraft streamer who recently called out JiDion in a recent livestream where he talked about the harassment that he and his fans had faced. While TommyInnit did not name any streamer while speaking about the incident, people were able to link the incident to JiDion. 

However, now, JiDion has replied to these claims, and his response has left many people questioning the whole incident. 

During his recent livestream, JiDion sat down with his fans to watch the video where TommyInnit spoke about the harassment incident and shared his take on the same. In his video, JiDion said:

“Nobody knows! That’s the beauty of this whole situation. Nobody knows what happened except for me and the so-called victims in the situation. That’s the beauty of this whole situation. Nobody knows what happened, but everybody has an opinion.”

JiDion also talked about the comments he made about female fans waiting in line to meet TommyInnit:

“Okay, I’ll address this one right here. Bro, any guy YouTuber will let you know having a female fanbase and male fanbase is literally kind of like unheard of. That’s what takes you into the upper echelon of YouTubers, right? TommyInnit had nothing but girls in his line and I literally said, ‘Wow, he has nothing but girls in his line,’ I said, ‘Good for you, Tommy,’ because bro, that is tough!”

Later he apologized for his comments and said:

 “You know what, my bad. It’s a weird comment. Bro, everybody in the chat saying ‘L Tommy,’ don’t say ‘L Tommy.’ I don’t want this to be a thing or it’s like my boys against his people. It’s not like that. He was just defending his fans, you know? I would do the same thing chat, so I don’t want to see no ‘L Tommy.”

At last, JiDion claimed that TommyInnit saying that he reached out to JiDion on Twitter was not true and it was JiDion who had contacted TommyInnit via DM.

“All right, what I will say is, and if you reached out to me on Twitter, I haven’t seen anything on Twitter. He might have reached out to me on Twitter but obviously, I don’t have my Twitter but on Instagram and all my other social media, I have not gotten a message from Tommy. Tommy has not slid into my DMs, I slid into Tommy’s DMs but Tommy has not slid into my DMs.”

It isn’t the first time JiDion finds himself amid controversies. The 21-year-old had previously been banned from the streaming platform Twitch for harassing Pokimane and sending his fans to write “L+Ratio” on her chat. Since then, JiDion has apologized for the incident but hasn’t been unbanned from the platform as of yet.

Popular Valorant streamer PROD has been suspended from Twitch over the use of homophobic slurs but in reality the weren’t anything close to that.

PROD is a player who skills are highly talked about in the Valorant community but for the first time he has found his name in the headlines for the wrong reasons. Twitch has banned him for an indefinite period for the use of homophobic slurs which the viewers think that was a wrongful suspension of his account as his words were misunderstood.

According to Jake Lucky, PROD was banned for saying “f*ck it” and then saying a homophobic slur which was inaudible in the best case.

Lucky highlighted that PROD was banned live and in YouTuber Sewers posted the clip of what PROD was banned for. PROD says ‘f**k it’ and then follows up with something that is inaudible, but Twitch detected that it was him using a slur.

Professional Valorant player and Twitch streamer Micheal “shroud” Grzesiek has once again reignited the Valorant vs CSGO debate with a statement made during a recent livestream, and fans have already started taking sides.

Since the dawn of the release of Riot Games’ competitive shooter Valorant, whether or not it is superior to CSGO has continued to spark heated debates within the gaming community, and it doesn’t seem like they’re coming to a halt anytime soon.

While the ex-CSGO pro had previously claimed that Valorant is an overall easier game than CS, it isn’t the case this time around.

“CS looks like a joke compared to this game, I am telling you,” Shroud told fellow Valorant pro Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo during a recent game. “There’s no sugar coating. The game is just hard.”

However, Shroud also brought up the possibility that the game might feel hard simply because “everybody’s so good” due to the game’s low skill ceiling.

“Everyone’s so good because the game is arguably easier, maybe that’s why,” Shroud continued. 

The community stands divided on Shroud’s statements. While a portion of the player base seems to think that Valorant is hard due to Agent abilities and the randomness that the game brings, others mention that CSGO is inherently more difficult due to its high skill ceiling, better gunplay, and complex lineups for nades, flashes, or smokes.

There isn’t a conclusive answer to this debate, as both games are 5v5 competitive shooters that can be found to be challenging in their own way. But it’s certain that the Valorant vs CSGO debates aren’t going to stop in the foreseeable future.

That’s where things get interesting. Each NFT has a unique token that is not easy to replicate. And that means that if you have one such asset, you can hold on to it or sell it later at a higher price point.

How Do NFTs Relate to E-Sports?

And now we get to the answer we have been heading to all this while. What exactly is the relationship between e-sports and NFTs? Interestingly, almost everything in online games can be an NFT. Remember that NFTs are digital assets. And that means that:

  • The game can be a digital asset. 
  • The characters can be digital assets. 
  • The powers or skills accorded to the characters can also be digital assets. 

You get the gist. But not all parts of the game can be monetized. It would help if you found those you can convert into tokens and sell in the digital market. For example, you can develop a character in the game and offer this as an NFT. The money acquired from the sale can then be used in the real world because it is a form of cryptocurrency.

Have NFTs Helped the E-Sports Industry?

NFTs have further pushed e-sports into the limelight. Previously, the easy way to make money from e-sports was to:

  • Provide a game,
  • Organize a gaming tournament,
  • Learn how to play a game and participate in the tournament, 
  • Blog/ vlog about gaming, 
  • Train people how to game, or
  • Bet on gaming.

And now? You can get a piece of the cake by focusing on NFTs. More people want to learn how they can convert games or their assets into NFTs to make money from the same. Some players and teams are now using this to increase their revenue streams. They sell the NFTs to their fans and other interested parties, so they still make money even when they are not actively competing in tournaments. Of course, before investing in these digital assets, you should take the time to learn how they work to ensure you turn a profit.
