“It hurts when a member quits, it demotivates the rest of the team”: Ritesh RitZ Shah

Indian CS:GO has always been very fragmented in terms of organizations and squads. With event organizers trying to extend their reach into the average skilled gamers by introducing entry level gaming events (ESL India Premiership, ZOWIE eXTREMESLANDย and Mountain Dew partnership with ESL for Dew Arena)ย in India, the professional gaming in India is nowhere even visible when competing overseas. We caught up with Ritesh RiTz Shah, who is a professional eSports athlete from over a decade and currently plays for Invisible Wings in their CS:GO division.

Invisible Wings recently beat Team Brutality, the then best CS:GO lineup in India at ESL India Premiership – Challenger #1. RitZ, who was earlier a part of one of the largest and most renowned professional eSports club, Ate.Gaming finally was able to perform and gain his level best in this version of the game. Shah is known to be outspoken as he shares his views and opinions wholeheartedly, check out our previous interview with Ritesh where he shared his disagreements and disappointments with rising intolerance in the players forcing them to change teams every now and then.

You can follow RiTz on his official facebook page.

Read the brief interview with Ritesh after their recent win where he shares, their future plans, his return to the professional gaming; also his perception of being professional eSports athlete and taking up e-gaming as a career in India.

DPK: How much did you practice for the ESL India Premiership Challenger #1 considering your team formed in less than a month?

RITZ: Well it was not very easy for us to make a team and grow together in a month. We did a little bit of team practice but more as an individual.

Did you have a coach or a preset analyst to analyze the demos to assist you? –

No, we don’t have a coach yet, but we were well aware of how the rest of teams would play in their style. We were just focusing on our gameplays.

If it was Invictus instead of Brutality facing you, would you doubt the results?

I would just say that it would have been tough.

You and kappa have played earlier during 1.6 times in Ate together, did it help you to coordinate even better?

Ritesh RitZ Shah
Ritesh with Ate.gaming at MSI Beat IT invitational in 2010.

Yes, it helped me a lot personally. Before making the team we were not only looking for a better player but were also looking for sheer dedication, a player who can devote more time to gaming and prioritize the competition without excuses. And tbh, he just has played the game for 1300 hours and in such a short span of time he has picked up the game well and also has been helping ‘psy’ to lead the team.

Who did the calling, was it psy leading the team all the way from the very start of the challengers?

Psy is a good IGL and as a player, he is smart enough to handle the situations based on the circumstances.

What are your plans for the Zowie and Mountain Dew event, will you travel to Banglore for the event?

Zowie and Mountain dew event will be our main goal, we will be practicing very hard and I amย very sure we will be able to win it.

You are the most experienced player in your lineup right now, what do you feel about the younger players specially psy taking up responsibility?

I was the exact copy of him when I was of his age, he just wants to win no matter how.

Having said that the switches in the roster and shuffles do create an impact on the team, have you ever felt left out when your team member departs?

If your team is not performing well just because of a couple of members for a very long time, then shuffling is must I feel. But if there’s no reason and your team member calls it quit, it hurts a lot. It also affects the other team members as they also get demotivated and out tracked. I have been through such scenario many times and it is never ending.

All right! Thanks for your time Ritesh, I have been your fan personally from during the CS 1.6 times, and would love to see you participate in international events with your form back. Do you think you have already gained your form in this game and the dominance will continue now?

Ritesh RitZ Shah
Ritesh was also a brand ambassador of Lenovo gaming laptops

Yes I have been on and off from the game but tbh, I had different plans in my mind but circumstances forced me to come back and play the game, now I am willing to spend as much time as I can to win !!!

Anything you’d like to say to our readers and the CS:GO community in general?

I would say, India is currently not in a state to offer a full-time replacement to a standard career in gaming. There are definitely a lot of organizations working behind the emerging scene in India.. but this will take another 5 years to completely form itself into a new industry.. people should play games and compete but at the same time they should also be focusing on their studies and things which matter to their parents and family. And also would like to suggest the newcomers to stay away from gambling !! finally, thanks to talkEsport for letting me speak my mind. cheers ๐Ÿ™‚

Ritesh did raise a valid point and I would like to unbrief it further to the everyday growing community in India. Gaming and eSports in India are not yet at a point which can offer you a secured future.

By means of gaming, you can’t surrender your regularities and spend your time whole day sitting on a comp and shooting enemies. Even though you become a professional player, there is yet not much scope in India for e-gaming. Keep your life balanced between hobbies and career.

Natus Vincere reorganized; S1mple in Zeus out

CSGO recent announcement includes some of the hottest stuff of the season. S1mple will replace Zeus in Natus Vincere CSGO Roster.

As recently announced on Natus Vincere’s Website and social media, stating that their CS:Go roster will be dropping out their in-game leader ‘Zeus’. Finally, it is out that S1mple will be replacing Zeus.ย Recently, after S1mple’s contract with Team Liquid came to an end the community was a bit sceptical for a new home for S1mple. However, it was speculated that Natus Vincere will be the new home for S1mple. Eventually, which is now correct, Navi announces S1mple in the main Squad.

Although Zeus will retain the Natus Vincere contract but will go inactive for a period of time. The organisation also mentioned that they will be having many other options for Zeus which will be announced later in this month.

Statement from Director of Natus Vincereย

“Today I feel both elated, because we have signed one of the most talented and promising players of the world, and sad, because the Natus Vincere epoch of Daniil Teslenko, who has not only been the teamโ€™s veteran IGL and a captain, but also one of the organizationโ€™s founding fathers, has come to an end.

I would like to comment on each of these cases separately. Regarding Oleksandrโ€™s arrival, I believe that this transfer has a potential of becoming one of the most successful in the CS:GO history, given how high-skilled, motivated and demanding towards his teammates this player has proven to be. I hope that we are at the outset of long and productive cooperation. I would like to personally thank Daniil Teslenko for everything he has done for Na`Vi, his great devotion, victories, sincerity, and dependability. The career you had is what most of the world can only dream of! Daniil, you are a legend!!!

Also, I want to thank Team Liquid and Victor Goossens for helping to make this transfer possible. Despite offering more financially beneficial terms, they met us halfway and took the playerโ€™s ambitions and interests into consideration, so they deserve enormous respect! It is amazing to work with professionals.

And now we are ready to move forward and reach new heights. DAVI NAVI!”
Yevhen “HarisPilton” Zolotarov

The Director himself believes that the current changes in the roster will be proven worthy and it will also help the retain a top position in the current CS:Go scene. With all high skilled players in the current line-up, Natus Vincere CS:Go is now ready to take up the challenges coming forward.

Statement from CSGO Team Manager

“Everyone must be curious why we have done that, and itโ€™s quite easy to explain. The time has come. Everything flows everything changes. Itโ€™s time for Daniil to go, and for a young and talented player to replace him in our lineup.ย

The recent results our team has scored have been quite solid. We became one of the most consistent teams on the CS:GO scene, but no matter how hard we tried, the major gold has been out of reach. We also underperformed in such leagues as ESL and ELEAGUE. Despite the number of the finals they played, our guys started losing motivation and belief in the teamโ€™s success. Their synergy started to fade away, and it all resulted in what we saw unfold at the previous major and the ELEAGUE LAN. Is it surprising? Turns out, sometimes it happens. We realized that we canโ€™t be complacent with second places. It is true that second and fourth finishes are always the most disappointing ones…

The loss in the final can affect the morale a lot harder than when you fail to advance out of the group. I am not saying that Daniil is the reason why it all happened, of course not. Here everyone played his part – we were winning and losing together, after all. At times we didnโ€™t put every effort we could into the game, and on some days we played at our limit, but the long-awaited win was still unobtainable. We always lacked something, finishing second turned into some kind of a pattern, and as I said, the teamโ€™s synergy started to fade. You canโ€™t stay the best without it. Perhaps, we could go without this change, but in the world where the competition is so tough, we have to be ready to undertake such measures. And it is normal because eSports becomes more professional.

Nobody knows how this change will impact the performance of our guys, but we do realize changes are what we really need. We believe that with s1mpleโ€™s arrival we will achieve it. Here itโ€™s the battle between experience and youth. Today we choose youth, and only time will tell what is going to happen next.ย

I would like to thank Daniil for everything. Being your manager wasnโ€™t an easy task, but it surely was a very, very interesting one. I wish you to stay in this developing industry, there are lots of opportunities, and your leadership qualities will surely help you do well. I am sure that we will continue working together in the future!”

-Eugene “ugin” Erofeev

As stated by the team manager, the organisation have no harsh feelings with Zeus. To achieve something in upcoming majors and tournament, Natus Vincere decides to recruit a young talent by further pushing up the limits. The changes in the roster are made as per the perspective of winning a Major event and it is regarded by the manager that they can attain a commanding lead over the scene after this particular roster change.

Statement From S1mple

“I am really happy to join this great organization and be part of my favorite lineup with the worldโ€™s best players on it. I will do everything I can to achieve big goals together with the team”

-Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev

S1mple looks promising to the team and also fits the play style of how Navi plays.ย We wish S1mple and Zeus all the best for their upcoming future.

Im 40, will enter any server and destroy players: TaZ

In an informal conversation with SlingShot, TaZ, the Polish god of Counter Strike clearly muscled his vision on the future of the game and himself being a professional even when he is 40.

VP recently beat fnatic 2-0 to win ELEAGUE Season 1 which was their recent major win considering the teams present at ELEAGUE.

I want to destroy my opponents. I want to show the kids that even when Iโ€™m 40 I will get to the server and destroy everyone.

– TAZ

TaZ also shared his experience about how it feels when you’ve to travel all day long to participate in events, “Our team is the biggest guys, traveling in economy class for 10 hours for at least three of us is extremely hard.” he said. Adding, “Many of us have girlfriends, wives. Pasha has a kid. This is something we are also missing when we are at events.”.

Life has surely not been easy for these professionals who are in the scene from over a decade. They are often seen sharing the disadvantages of being a professional and having to travel all around the world back-and-forth. You can read the entire interview on SlinghShot eSports.

Second Shot introduced by Valve in the latest update, changes accuracy and shooting

0

Valve pushed a major CS:GO update a couple of hours ago which is by far one of the most important and game changerย in a very long time. The update which goes by the version name 1.35.4.4, considerable effects the gameplay as the Recoil patterns and recovery rates of rifles has been reformed which Valve calls Second Shot, alongside tiny audio and visual additions to the game.

Other than Second Shot, tiny bugs including that of players getting spawned in the wrong places, and some of the network disrupted problems which affected the gameplay of the player in question.

Second Shot

According to the blog post by Valve, Second Shot is defined to be a new recovery method implemented in the game which alters with the current recoil, spray and tap patterns of the primary rifles AK47, M4A1-s and M4A4. Valve explains Accuracy Recovery Rate as the time it takes for a weapon to return back to its original target after being affected by the impact because of firing. They make it complicated to understandย how the now variable rate will be different from the pre-update fixed rate.

Second Shot

To make things clear, Valve has implemented the new recovery and recoil rates also called Second Shot, which will be uneven depending upon the independent usage of the players. The uniform pattern on whichย the majority relies, the spray-and-pray will no longer be as effective as taping.

As you can quickly examine the graph above it clearly demonstrates how the recoil stays better for a shorter fire pattern than a long ranged one, explicitly AK’s and M4’s sprays will now be worse comparatively.

Interestingly this is actually the second shot from Valve to attempt a change the in-game shooting mechanics, the first one earlier last year had a major backlash as it messed up with the pattern of the shooting. This, however, looks promising and independent as it is used.

CS:GO Update log 1.35.4.4

Escape Gaming eliminates Execration

Escape Gaming eliminates Execration as they take them down at The International 6 wildcard qualifiers. Synderen and crew will be taking the 16th Slot at the International 6.

Game 1

game 1

The first game was eventually more of an even game from both the sides. Perhaps Execration claimed first blood in game 1 and they were able to hold on to a lead of 6-1 score by minute 10. Passing on by the 10-minute mark, Since Execration was dominating in their first 10 minutes, they decided to go for Roshan kill. Escape gaming was able to fight around the Roshan pit and team wipe their opponents.

After the team wipe, Escape gaming was able to take down Execration’s Tier 1 bot tower and significantly take the lead over the game. At 23 minute mark after having lead in the game, Escape Gaming decided to take their first aegis of the game and take down Execration’s tier 2 tower on top lane.

However, escape gaming went for bottom racks which Execration were able to defend successfully. Just a minute or two later, Escape gaming ย took down 4 of Xtcn’sย players and rushed into the Roshan pit and claimed their second aegis of immortal.

Execration smoked up for their last fight which they were unable to pull out at nearly 40-minute mark.

Just after taking down the bottom racks, 2 minutes later they were able to take down the middle racks as well.

Team Invictus win DewArena Online Qualifier #1

2

Team Invictus wins DewArena Online Qualifier #1 by beating Team Brutality 2-0 in a best-of-three final series. They beat Brutality 16-14 on de_train and 16-13 on cache making their way to the LAN event whichย is scheduled to be in September this year.

Brutality who beat MxB Gaming in the semi-finals performed indistinguishable versus Team Invictus who beat SemperX in the second leg of semis. Invictus, on the other hand, were stronger comparatively after they recently formed a new team with the likes of Excali and Ace.

The first map, Train started with Team Invictus on the CT side taking the first pistol round in a very clean manner having 4 of their players alive while retaking the site. Coming stronger on the second round, Brutality were able to surprise Invictus by forcing up the buy even though on the weaker economy and making their way to clinching 3 more rounds in their favor with astarrrr’sย 1v3 clutch in the very first rifle round, forcing Invictus to go full eco in the sixth round. Team Invictus, however, taking on the next rifle round as dnmย goes for the tripleย spray down in the inner bombsite followed by kills Ribbiz which led them winning the round. Only to get a respond strongly by V3nom and co., as astarrrrย and Juventa pick multiple kills sailing their team to get another point on the board. Invictus were forced to eco’s as the scoreline strengthen to 7-2 in favor of Team Brutality.

Team Invictus

RibbiZ though, showing his capability in the outer bombsite as he takes down 3 man on rifles with his 5-seven on point and reducing the round to a 1v1 slightly favoring his team the last man alive, Juventa was already on 18 health points. Denying the clutch to RibbiZ, Juventa successfullyย clutched the round making the map scores 8-3. The following round with both the teams on full utilities was favorably traded by the Brutals with 3 of them alive, reducing the ct’s to a very weak economy. As the game progressed Team Brutality were strongly sprinting towards a victory by taking 11 rounds on board in the first half of the first map.

The second half, rather viciously dominated by Invictus as theyย were the pilot in the very first round with Marzil’s impressive and effective triple-kill, they were able to win the second pistol and a couple of following rounds making the scoreline look less favorable, 7-11 in favor on Brutality. With the quality lurker as Excali, Invictus were able to strictly restrict Brutality from having a breathing space as they quickly jumped upย to 10th rounds with Brutality not being able to have a single round until then in the second half of the game. Tactical timeout came in as Invictus successfully were able to diminish the gap and balancing the scoreline to an 11-11. Marzil though, clutching a clean 1v2 in the rifle round forcing the opponents to limited eco rounds. As the game progressed, Brutality managed to get back a couple of rounds making the first map impartially stuck at 14-14 once again. As entering into the 29th and 30th round, Brutality were pretty much broken in the economy and were denied any presence by Ace & co., Excali, however, elevated much with his run as he finally leads Team Invictus to a victory in the opener map 16-14 with 26 frags on for himself.

DewArena-finals

Cache, the very favorite map for the grand finals began looked like a pretty one-sided affair from the very beginning as Invictus won the pistol and the following anti- eco’s in a regular fashion ticking the scoreboard to a 3-0. The rifle round, however, went in favor of the Brutals as V3nom, Juventa, foXy and astaRRRRR each shared kills; only to deny them any further control of the map, Team Invictus quickly won the second rifle forcing Brutality to force up in the following round and taking the score further to 7-1. Team Invictus dominated the scoreboard and restricted Team Brutality to two roundsย going into the 13th round. Team Invictus almost replicated the same what Brutality did to them in the first map as they close the opening half in a very dominant fashion 12-3.

The second half which initially, hadย a very little engross was taken over in a leap of faith by Astar, who took the responsibility andย started to comfortably assist in winning rounds after slicing RibbiZ in the pistols. The game progressed unexpectedly in favor of Brutality as they startedย winning rounds slowly and were able to equalize the score at 13-13 with Astar stepping up for his team. Not to drag this further Excali responded backย with a double and contested on the next two rounds to close the map at 16-13.

Team Invictus are now qualified for Dew Arena LAN finals CS:GO scheduled to be commenced later this year.

Execration eliminates Complexity Gaming

Execration eliminates Complexity Gaming in a very convincing fashion. The International wild card has its first elimination today which will be none other than the home team – Complexity Gaming.

The SEA monsters are showing up some potential at The International 6. Execration were able to pull out first two games in a best of 3 series in a dominating fashion.

Complexity Gaming in the upper bracket lost to Escape Gaming earlier today. They wereย able to pull Game 1 but failed to claim a full series victory.

Coming next to the game versus Execration, It took only 30 minutes each game for Execration to bring down the home team from NA scene trying to grab a slot atย International 6.

Score for best of 3 game was 2 – 0 in favor of execration.

Game 2 of the series showed up some high level of performance from Xtcn.Abed. A 15 year old kid wrecking through the Complexity line up with his dominant Meepo plays. At 25 min mark, the fifteen year old had a blink, 2x hurricane pike, Boots of travel, Aghanims and Ethereal Blade which enabled him to run over Complexity.

Execration advance to the second round of the lower bracket, they will be facing the loser of EHOME vs Escape Gaming and fight for the slot at TI6.

Stay tuned for more updates about the International 6.

Ehome qualifies for Group Stage of The International 6

Ehome qualifies for Group Stage of the International 6 after defeating Escape Gaming in the upper bracket round 2ย of wild card qualifiers.

The teamย also pushed down Execrationย to the lower bracket in their first game with a score of 2-1. Ehome lost the first game and came back strong in next two games allowing them to move to the second round.

After being placed in the top 6 position of TI5 were pushed back down to the wild card after losing to VG.Reborn in the regional Chinese qualifiers. The Chinese lineupย has now proved themselves that they hold the potential to participate at TI.

The match between Ehome and Escape gaming was a slow pace game. Escape gaming were not able to hold against Iceiceice’s naga siren in the later stages of the game. Game 2 concluded with an Anti-Mage pick which is merely regarded as a strong counter to int hero’s such as Storm Spirit, at min 30 iceiceice’s Anti-Mage was almost unkillable and it lead to Ehome’s victory and secured them a slot at the International 6.

Ehome will be taking the Slot of Group B which will include the team which they lost to in the regional qualifiers i.e VG.Reborn.

Escape Gaming still have one last chance to qualify by beating ย Execration in the lower bracket.

fer short-distanced from SK Gaming

1

Rising wrist injuries and hearing losses are much of concern in CS:GO, when professionals are facing these struggles with their health, even fans are not less vulnerable. After GuardiaN, Olofemeister and Shox, it is now Fer who has been troubled by playing the game too much. Not ignoring the fact that he had a broken nose since he was a child, but the hearing loss has pertained after playing the game.

Fer will be taking a long break from SK to get the injuries and health concerns resolved. Read below his open letter to fans explaining the condition. “Shoowtime” will replace fer until he returns.

This is an open letter to my fans, SK-Gaming fans and to those who support or like me.

SK Gaming fer

As many of you know, since I was little I have my nose broken, and I can only breathe through one side of my nostrils, and for about 2 years now, I suffer from eardrum perforation on the right side, which despites our performance, for a little over than one year has exponentially increased, and it has affected a lot my own performance in-game, and my life quality out-game.

After last season, when I came back to Brazil, I visited 2 medical experts (the same ones who checked my case in the past), and they told me about a worsening of clinical symptoms, and a possible tumor in my ear, due to strong and painful aches, bleeding and a lot of twinges.

They told me I have to make both surgeries, but also explained it would be impossible to make the two of them at the same time, so we would have to make one at a time.

They also explained that I need to make the nose surgery first, to have a better ventilation on my face, and then be able to go through the ear surgery.

He explained I won’t be able to recover the hearing loss on the right side of my ear, and the surgery will help me not to completely lose it. Since I went to the US, I only play with 30% of hearing on the right side, and it affects me a lot in-game.

We had a conversation between us (team, SK, family), and I told them I’d like to keep playing, even with all these problems, and I’d like to continue writing our history like we are until now.

My teammates totally supported me and told me I could be calm and take care of myself because health always comes first.

Therefore, in 2 weeks I will be submitted to a surgical procedure on my nose, so I can be able to breathe without any issues, and then get ready and prepare myself for the eardrum perforation surgery.

The nose surgery is not a complicated one, but I will need medical monitoring for about a month. The team will only be playing online tournaments between August and September (ECS and Pro League).

I won’t be traveling together with my team immediately, but I will join the group in the middle of September, when I will be able to play, however getting ready for the ear surgery.

Meanwhile, in order to help us, the player Gustavo “Shoowtime” Gonรงalves (former Immortals), will join our line-up, until the middle of September. I’ll be playing from Brazil the individual part, and I will follow-up my team practices as a coach.

My intention is to be back 2 weeks before ESL One New York, and for during these 2 weeks, we’ll make an intensive preparation with the same goal: WIN!

I am just thankful to those who cheer for me and my team, and I ask you to keep your positive vibration. I also would like to thank โ€œShoowtimeโ€ for accepting right away the invitation to represent the best team in the world.

Welcome, Shoowtime!
Thanks, everybody.

Hugs,
Fernando โ€˜ferโ€™ Alvarenga.

Virtus Pro Dota 2 roster announced

Virtus Pro announces their new lineup before TI6

Virtus Pro announce Dota 2 roster after disbanding their whole lineup about a month ago.

Check out the insights of roster disband

Just after a month of roster disband along with their managerial staff, Virtus Pro announced their new preliminary roster which will include their very own previous midย playerย Sergey ‘G’ Bragin.

Virtus.Pro Dota 2 current roster :

Russia Alexey ‘Solo‘ Berezin
Ukraine Ilya ‘Lil‘ Ilyuk
Russia Sergei ‘G‘ Bragin
Ukraine Alexander ‘XBOCT‘ Dashkevich
Ukraine Vladimir ‘No[O]ne‘ Minenko

Since the above roster is not fixed, Management will be trying out the current roster. If the roster is finalized Vega Squadron will loose its Two players namely – Noone and Solo.

Team will now be lead by ‘Solo’ and VP will welcome their old player ‘Lil’ back to the roster.

The main question for the audience is which player will play what role. From recent updates and players pub games it is seen that XBOCT will be again trying out the offlane role which he was playing in Team Spirit, while ย Noone being a mid/carry player could be taking the position 1 role for team.

CEO of Virtus Pro :

“We have not yet signed any contracts with the players. In fact, we’re still discussing the possibility of creating such a roster”, – told the organisation’s CEO Anton “Sneg1” Cherepennikov. – “Everything can change in any moment. I’m also concerned about maintaining the proper sports management for the team. This is one of the most important and responsible tasks for me. Players are already warned about the physical trainings, daily regime and sports discipline.”

– Anton ‘Sneg1’ Cherepennikov

After the whole managerial staff was removed a month ago along with the roster. CEO of VP is now making up the roster himself which will be a challenging job.

We wish Virtus.Pro all the best for their up coming matches and career’s of all the members of team.
