These Mobile Gaming Titles Are Underway In 2019

5

So, it is inevitable to notice that mobile esports is growing at an unprecedented rate with more and more tournaments and events coming into the picture each passing year. Pc or Console gaming requires years of hard work and thousands of hours to master but the best thing about mobile games is that you can master them in a span of a few months. The cause of growth for mobile esports has been the new, more challenging and more fun to play games along with organizations taking interest in hosting tournaments for these games. So if youโ€™re dreaming of living life as a competitive gamer, these are some games you should be mastering.

Brawl Stars

BRAWL stars is a free to play multiplayer online-based arena (MOBA) that was launched globally last December. It comes from Supercell, the creators of hit mobile esports games like Clash Royale and Clash of Clans.

Brawl stars appealed to a massive audience due to its simple interface and various game modes including a mini-battle Royale mode (Showdown). The title managed to generate $200 million just four months after its launch. Being a MOBA, it is a spectator-friendly game with many past esports events, the latest one being at the ESL India Premiership 2019.

Guns of Boom

Guns of Boom is one of the few mobile games with a systematic esports league, managed by ESL and itโ€™s been played in some of the biggest esports events in the world, from IEM Katowice in March to ESL One Cologne this July. Guns of Boom boasts a massive $500,000 prize pool for its first season in 2019 and is open for players across all regions of the world.

Due to its simplicity, the games serve a casual player base but itโ€™s skill cap also attracts hardcore gamers. It is the one to watch out for in this growing esports scene.

Call of duty Mobile

Activision and Tencent joined forces to develop the Mobile version of the globally popular Call of Duty franchise adding to it, elements from the Modern Warfare and Black Ops series.

In addition to being backed by Tencent which has massive esports experience with all its mobile games right from Pubg mobile to Arena of Valor, the game has all the required elements to make it an esports success. Fans are eager for its official release as it already has over 10million pre-registrants. Call of Dutyโ€™s highly competitive team-based gameplay makes it a perfect esport game.

Mobile Legends

Developed by Moonton, the game has generated $200 million since its launch in 2016. Currently, Mobile Legends is battling to become the most popular mobile MOBA game, which means it has to grow on the flourishing esports scene.

Right now, the developers are focused on Malaysia and Indonesia, where the game made a strategic partnership with AirAsia. The 2018 season in this region includes a $100,000 prize pool so the game clearly has some tailwind going for it. Mobile legends was also featured in the first iteration of Dreamhack Mumbai 2018.

CR4ZY – The quest to put Serbian CS on the map

A lineup with a Serbian core had never made it to a CSGO Major, up until the Starladder Major 2019 at least. CR4ZY shocked Fnatic en route to claiming the second of the two spots in a stacked Europe Minor to become the first Serbian core to qualify for the Major.

It is easy to highlight technicality and say that Nemanja ‘huNter’ Kovacs is Bosnian. But, the 23-year-old represents the Serbian flag proudly. huNter along with his long-time companions LETN1 and emi (the coach) as well as nexa have taken the first step towards putting Serbian CSGO on the map.

There has never been a concrete top 20/ top 30 team with a Serbian core since the world switched to CSGO from 1.6. The 23-year-old was ecstatic at having qualified and lamented that it had been a long-time target for him and the team.

a CR4ZY good season for the roster

CR4ZY have successfully managed to be consistently within the Top 30 and are currently ranked #16 as per the HLTV Rankings. The core has been together for little less than a year now after Valiance brought in the core of Imperial.

At the heart of the CR4ZY roster is the camaraderie the players share. EspiRanTo was billed and always highlighted as an outspoken player, who had trouble at Imperial due to his personality, as the reports suggested.

But, at CR4ZY, the Lithuanian has even acted as a support for other stars, perhaps, being comfortable in the fact that there are others who can do the job better than him in certain aspects and situations.

The shining victory of this lineup is that everybody seems to contribute on the server, with no player averaging a sub-1.00 rating since the inception of the CR4ZY banner.

HuNter himself credited nexa for bringing structure to the game and more confidence in their style after the Serbian became the IGL. The former Renegades star, though, is not letting shot-calling get in the way of his individual performances, boasting an average rating of 1.20, just .02 away from huNter.

The lineup isn’t very young but is one of the youngest to be participating in the Starladder Major, with the average age coming to 22.5. Despite the age, the wonderful thing about the lineup is that everyone is experienced in the CSGO circuit.

While nobody apart from nexa has been a part of the permanent Tier-1 circuit before, every other player has been a permanent fixture in the scene for at least a year. EspiranTo might be the youngest at 18. But, the Lithuanian has already proven himself on LAN and has a title under his belt, winning the Dreamhack Open Summer 2018 with Imperial, along with current teammate nexa.

KEY FIGURE

The lineup has 5 stars. But, arguably, the most important player of the roster is Nemanja ‘huNter’ Kovacs. The 23-year-old is the highest-rated player under the CR4ZY banner with an average rating of 1.22.

huNter also shoulders the burden of being the entry, accounting for 23.8% of total opening duels taken by the roster, with a success rate of 52.6%, which is the second highest in the team (ottoNd has 59.4%).

The 23-year-old also accounts for the highest damage dealt with grenades on the roster and by a comfortable margin. huNter records 5.4 grenade damage per round, almost 2 points more than everyone else.

Expectations at the Starladder Major 2019

huNter iterated in his interview with Talkesport that their main motive was to get to the next round. But, perhaps, they would want to avoid going through the gruesome qualifiers and Minors next time onwards.

To achieve that, not only do they have to qualify for the Main Stage of the Starladder Berlin Major, but also ensure they get at least one win under their belt in the Round Robin matchups.

Talkesport Predicts

Every Major has one cinderella story. Last Major, it was Renegades. Honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if this roster provides the CR4ZY storyline this time around and take one step further, becoming the first Serbian core lineup to qualify for the knockouts.

Despite all of the talk about experience and skill, it is CR4ZY’s debut at a Major and for everyone in the roster, apart from nexa. There are a lot of other first-timers at the Main Qualifiers or the New Challenger Stage.

We expect CR4ZY to qualify for the Main Stage of the Berlin Major or come close at the very least. Expect the roster to rack up two wins in the Main Qualifier, minimum.

Virtus.Pro revealed new identity for TI9

Earlier today, VP revealed their new identity, new logo and new branding for the upcoming The International DOTA 2 Championship to held in Shanghai, China from August 15th-25th, 2019.

They explain their decision to rebrand in the press release on their website.

Our fanbase in Asia has been steadily growing over the last couple of years. With the first TI in China on its way we want to take another step to get closer to local fans. We are delighted to reveal our special localised brand identity, which will be used exclusively at the upcoming TI. It has been created by our friends at Quberten design studio, who also worked on our updated logo last year.

We have used well known symbols from local culture: red color, Chinese characters and ornaments, and one of Chinaโ€™s main symbols – the giant panda.
Chinese fans have a special nickname for our team that can be translated as โ€œpowerful fightโ€. We have combined these words with our logo. Thereโ€™s also a small easter egg for those who are really into details: the Chinese characters have the letters โ€œVPโ€ hidden within them.

Game jerseys pattern is inspired by the contemporary urbanistic style and takes the form of the letter โ€œVโ€.

The Russian white bear will be replaced by the Chinese giant panda for TI9.

Roman Dvoryankin, Virtus.pro-General Manager:

August is full of great news for us. We have launched our Weibo account and a unique visual identity for the main esports event of the year. I hope that our players will show some great Dota play at the tournament as well. China is a strategic market for us, and weโ€™ve tried to pay respect and attention to local traditions.

You can pre-order the game jersey with worldwide delivery on fragstore.com. It will also be available for purchase at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai during TI playoffs.

Will the change in logo bring a change in fortune for the Russian squad at TI9? Only time will tell.

PUBG Mobile to get Erangel 2.0 and a collaboration with The Walking Dead

Almost every month, Tencent Games releases a major update to adding new features and refreshing the overall design. At the ongoing PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO) 2019 Global Finals, the company announced the arrival of Erangel 2.0 Map for PUBG Mobile. To recall, Erangel 2.0 map is already available for PUBG PC users, so there are no surprises that the company is bringing it to the mobile version as well. As for the updates with Erangel 2.0 map, itโ€™s a design refresh which has been asked by several Erangel map players in recent times.

Erangel 2.0 coming to mobile soon!! from r/PUBGMobile

Alongside the Erangel 2.0 map, PUBG Mobile will also get new Africa servers. This move comes after the Middle East server, which the company introduced very recently. This allows the players in African countries to play the game without any ping issues. For the unaware, in PUBG Mobile, if the ping is higher, the player will respond slowly, which will be evident.

In addition, Tencent Games announced its collaboration with The Walking Dead and we might see a story-based Zombie mode coming to PUBG Mobile under this collaboration. The Walking Dead is one of the popular American web series on which thereโ€™s a mobile game already.

The Centre informs Bombay HC that it is difficult to ban PUBG: Report

Battle Royale game PlayerUnknownโ€™s Battlegrounds has been under the scanners for a long time now. Multiple countries have banned already. The governments of those countries argue that it has a harmful effect on the youth. Different places in India too have banned the game in the past. But it has not faced a blanket ban in the country yet. Some sections of the society are pushing to put a stop to this game and we shared our own opinion on it. But now the Centre has addressed the issue that was raised by Bombay High Court.

It has said that it is technically difficult to ban PlayerUnknownโ€™s Battlegrounds(PUBG). This was in response to a query from a bench of Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog and Justice Nitin Jamdar. Public interest litigation to ban the online game prompted this query. Times of India reports that the bench asked Centre to review the game and decide whether or not service providers require guidelines in April.

Advocate Rui Rodrigues, who represents the Centre, gave the ministry of electronics and information technologyโ€™s report to the state. The report stated that it is, โ€œTechnically difficult to ban all the sources (such as websites, mobiles and other communication devices) from where the game is available unless the creator or the parent company retrieves the game from circulation or administers some restrictionsโ€.

PlayerUnknownโ€™s Battlegrounds bans in India

According to previous reports,ย PUBGย was banned inย including Rajkot, Surat, Gir Somnath, Ahmedabad, and Bhavnagar in India. However, High Court noted that schools already prohibited the use on mobile phones in schools making the need of banning the mobile game redundant.

As previously reported, the ban was rolled back in some placesย after 2-3 week bank. In the meantime, more reports surfaced where some people showcased violent behaviour including, attacking family members and stealing moneyย also revealed that police arresting students in some areas for playing the game.

The question we should ask ourselves is who is at fault here? The peopleโ€™s inability to exercise self-control or the developerโ€™s ability to create fun, competitive and addictive games?
