New CSGO league FLASHPOINT to allow VAC banned, match-fixing convicted players

FACEIT has announced and made it clear that it will be allowing reformed cheaters to play in their Flashpoint League.

Flashpoint amended their rule book, effectively allowing reformed cheaters to play the event qualifiers. The change in section 5.1 of the Flashpoint rule book comes in as, โ€œany player with a VAC ban prior to February 5, 2018, is allowed to participate in the competition.โ€ The only thing we are yet to find out is if the reformed cheaters and match-fixers are allowed in the league after going through qualifiers because the amendments currently only cater to the qualifiers for the event.

This is not the first time something like this has been done, back in 2017, Dreamhack and ESL also started allowing the participation of reformed cheaters. This move will no doubt allow a lot of players who made mistakes early in their career to have a chance at redemption.

CSGO star Fallen appears on Clear Shampoo in Brazil, replacing Cristiano Ronaldo

Esport athletes have been regarded as stars much like their counterparts in other industries. However, esport has lately been a go through medium for marketers precisely because of its higher engagement with the millennials. And yet again, this has been the case with Brazilian Counter-Strike AWPer Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo. Clear, a French-based anti-dandruff shampoo brand has roped in Gabriel as the poster boy for its Shampoo.

Prior to Gabriel, Portugal football veteran Cristiano Ronaldo headlined the shampoo brand. MIBR star-AWPer has also appeared in a television commercial for Clear shampoo earlier in 2019.

FalleN and co. secured 10th-12th position at recently held BLAST Premier Spring Series 2020 and are likely to compete in Spring 2020 Showdown. On the other hand, Brazilian squad is set to compete in FLASHPOINT League which will commence in March 2020 while they have declined their invite for ESL Pro League.

The day is not far away when electronic sports will be at par with traditional esports and esport professionals will be celebrated much like their counterparts.
