CSGO: ESL reveals 24 teams for ESL Pro League Season 11

Previously known as the “LANXESS agreement”, ESL on its twitter did tweet about the latest long term partnership between 13 teams and itself. This agreement has been signed by 13 teams which do feature the likes of Evil Geniuses, Fnatic, Natus Vincere and Mousesports.

With the Louvre Agreement coming in action, we will now witness the above thirteen teams enter an agreement where they would be a part of the ESL Pro League project and a part of the ESL pro tour circuit as well. They will be able to feast on the above entitlements for an uncertain period of time which is not yet revealed by ESL.

The above entitlements will make sure that all of the partnered teams get a direct invite to the ESL Pro League and to the ESL Pro Tour Tournaments as well. These partnered teams are now the major stakeholders and alongside they would be receiving a specific proportion of the income if they continue to attend events where a large amount would be on the stakes.

This newly formed format will now set up a stellar show among these 24 teams where 13 of them would be directly invited to the ESL Pro League and the rest 11 teams would need to qualify every season. As this format attracted a lot lambasting from the community, ESL was compelled to bring a new format for their Pro League Season 12 where teams from their respective regions would compete along with the 11 relegated teams from Pro League season 11 in a single-elimination and a Best of 3 format to book their spots at the Season 12 of the same. This format would still witness some changes in the Pro League Season 13 where the rest 11 spots would be up for grabs via the ESL World Ranking.

CSGO Launch Settings – Should You Use?

In January 2020, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) reached 817.23 thousand concurrent players on Steam. The game reached its record high peak concurrent player number in April 2016, at nearly 850.5 thousand gamers playing at the same time.

With this mammoth statistics of players where some would be competing to put their skill set in use for those matchmaking ranks or some of them who would be queuing up for PUGs on the famous third party clients like FACEIT and ESEA, these players really have their own settings in the game which would help them feel comfortable in the server enabling them to play with some ease and with more precision. If we talk about these settings, they could be the Video settings/ Audio settings as well as the Launch Settings. Today we will shower some light on some famous Launch settings for Valveโ€™s famous FPS Title Counter-Strike:Global offensive.

First and foremost what does the term Launch Settings/ Launch options mean? Launch settings are a set of predefined commands which are entered before we start the game via the properties.

It totally enables you to override the default launch settings and insert your own desirable settings. These Launch settings help you to tailor the game on a more professional level and do enable one to redeem the most out of them. These type of settings do all sorts of things ie they can change your client’s tickrate from, 64t tick to 128 tick, lock your FPS to set a static parameter which can avoid issues like screen tearing, apply an Autoexec, and adjust technical settings. It totally enables you to override the default launch settings and insert your own desirable settings. These Launch settings help you to tailor the game on a more professional level and do enable one to redeem the most out of them.

In my opinion, I wish to list some of the most famous Launch Options which are recognized by the community across the globe.

-novid: With this command fed in the Launch settings, the opening introduction from Valve would be skipped on startup as it really irritates some of us who would always prefer to directly logon to the game.

-tickrate 128: This specific command once entered would launch your CS:GO client with a 128 tickrate interface. With this setting, if you start your own private server for aim training or any other purpose, the default tick rate of the server would directly jump to 128 from 64. Itโ€™s believed that the aim precision gets much better on 128 tick servers than 64 tick ones. The utility trajectories do also follow a different pathway to pop.

-refreshrate: With this command, you can make your monitor to adhere to some higher refresh rates but this only comes to be worthy of your monitors’ default refresh rate is higher than 60Hz.

-nod3d9ex: This is the latest launch option provided by a valve which allows the user to quickly Alt+Tab between the game and the desktop. This can be used if youโ€™re playing some music on a third-party application or it could also come to rescue if youโ€™re streaming and you have to encode a few commands.

-high: This will enable your game to run in a high-priority mode. This launch option may help the players with lower-end gaming setups to faceless lag in the game and would allow their game to run more smoothly.

Aleksib on Ceb: โ€œIโ€™ve never, never ever met a person like himโ€

With two back to back Aegises of the Immortal in the bag, Sรฉbastien โ€œCebโ€ Debs did prove to be worthy as a player and a coach as well as he decided to step in as a player after the roster of OG saw themselves to be in a turmoil with OGโ€™s former captain and support player Tal โ€œFlyโ€ Aizik decided to part ways with the team along with Gustav โ€œs4โ€ Magnusson. This roster move saw Ceb filling the void hence coming all the way in transitioning as a player from the coaching gig. Upon retiring after his successful run at those two successive internationals in 2018 and 2019, Sebastien might have taken a step back from playing in the pro scene but his optimistic approach towards the game hasnโ€™t caught dust as he still continues to help OGโ€™s players adapt a constructive mindset.

Earlier in the last weekend, we saw OG topple over Evil Geniuses twice in the Group C upper bracket semi-final as well as the Group C consolidation final. In these two meetings, we did see OG come back from a 0-1 deficit to secure series win with scorelines of 2-1 in both the series. During the breaks we did see Ceb going in the ring and having a chat with the players, having them go over a mental reset which did see Aleksi โ€œAleksibโ€ Virolainen and his men overcome Evil Geniuses twice. In the due course, they did as well book their tickets to the BLAST Premier Spring 2020 Finals and grab up whopping prize money of $35,000. After the match, Aleksib upon being interviewed by Banks about Cebโ€™s role in mentoring the OG CSGO roster, he did state โ€œI respect him because the way he talks, the way he can motivate people is just unreal,โ€ Aleksib said. โ€œIโ€™ve never, never ever met a person like him.โ€ When asked about Cebโ€™s influence on the team, he did call it out to be โ€œa lot, honestly.โ€

One can witness Cebโ€™s inducing will to succeed in Valveโ€™s True sight documentaries from 2018 and 2019 which do throw some light on his role as a mental backbone of the team and which does help players adopt a more stable mindset to face any pressurizing moments.

According to a report from Dexerto.com, Epic Gameโ€™s famous Battle Royale title Fortnite has bought in a new mode named as โ€œSearch and Destroy mode. This mode has attracted a plethora of positive feedbacks from the player base and the community as well. With this idea, Valveโ€™s famous FPS title Counter-Strike Global Offensive has decided to lend its famous competitive map dust2 to Fortnite where we will get to witness the map being incorporated with some re-worked models. This addition would totally favour the CSGO players to cherish Fortnite on their most favourable map though re-worked but they would totally get to play upon it and would attract some really promising crossovers.

Team Evolve which are known for their creativity in the Fortnite scene is really taking people by storm with their unique concepts and thus are kicking in some original as well as genuine aspects. It was Team Evolveโ€™s creative efforts to inculcate the idea of bringing in the famous re-worked dust2 map to the world of Fortnite as the later has proved to be a worthy successor to the original Dust map from Counter-Strike 1.6, yet another Valveโ€™s famous FPS title which did culminate in carving some famous players to adapt to a superior skill set enough to dominate in CS:GO. The ideas have been solicited in a beautiful manner in Forniteโ€™s new Re-worked Dust2 map where though players would witness some obvious aesthetic differences between Fortnite and CS:GO, but they wonโ€™t complain about it as it would be worth their time as well as their desires.

Will Valve ever let ex-iBP squad to compete at its major?

0

Itโ€™s been 6 years since the North American Match-Fixing Scandal in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive where 75% of the iBUYPOWER Squad allegedly threw the match against NetcodeGuides.com in season 5 of the CEVO Professional League which was them loose to Pujan โ€œFNSโ€ Mehta and his men with a scoreline of 4-16 despite being heavy favourites. Since then Valve had been getting a lot of hatred from the community as the Valve Officials did issue an indefinite ban period for the teammates of iBUYPOWER excluding Tyler โ€œSkadoodleโ€ Latham who denied to share the profit from the amount the team would get from their winnings on CS: GO Lounge. A year later since this incident took place, Richard Lewis did publish an open letter which did entirely mention Valve and itโ€™s actions which did result in the players and their respective careers facing an unforeseeable future due to the “indefinite” nature of the bans.

Later in July 2017, ESL and ESEA unban the ex-iBP Squad. The entire community did sing the praises of these two in the context of their positive decisions about the teamโ€™s members. With this positive step incorporated, Dreamhack too stepped up and did lift itโ€™s ban over these players and were gave a green light which would see them participate in all of the Dreamhack events across the globe.

With these players still banned from playing at the Valve sponsored events ie the Major, the whole CS:GO community including other teamโ€™s players, casters and hosts are now requesting Valve to give an another chance to Braxton “swagโ€ Pierce one of the players among the ex-iBP squad as he really yet got some true potential which did saw Mibr giving a chance to the 23year old at Blast Pro Series: Lisbon 2018 when they decided to call him as a stand-in to replace Fer who had undergone a surgery. We did too witness Jason โ€œmosesโ€ O’Toole at the end of the event flashing a banner which did say โ€œFree Braxโ€

Also on February 12, Maikel โ€œmaikeleleโ€ Bill did post on his twitter requesting Valve to unban Brax and others as an approach to give the guys one more chance to do what they love to.

Snax oversleeps for FLASHPOINT qualifier match against GamerLegion

Former major champion and Polish veteran Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski has seen a mighty fall. After overhauling the major winning squad yet finding no success, the Polish squad was bid farewell to make way for former AVANGAR players at Virtus.pro. Even making a couple of roster moves prior to Mountain Dew League S33, the success seems distant.

Ex-Virtus.pro lineup was competing in Europe closed qualifier for FLASHPOINT League which is set to commence in March later this year. Ex-VP were facing GamerLegion in the lower-brackets and they indeed lost the series 2-0 to secure a 17th-24th position in the closed qualifier. However, Snax cannot be entirely blamed for this debacle because his lineup didn’t even put up a convincing show.

Through his Twitter, Snax clarified that he was suffering from a sleeping disorder and was taking medication for the same. He further revealed that he was merely ten minutes late however the team moved forward with a stand-in โ€“ Michaล‚ “crank” Krystyniak.

Dr Disrespect doesnโ€™t want TikTok on his feed

0

Ever since the launch of Tik-Tok(formerly Musical.ly) in 2017, the application has brute-forced its way up to the top of the download charts. While teenagers and millennials, who form its major userbase are very fond of the elements of the application, the number of people who despise this app is profuse, one of them being Dr Disrespect.

Lately, there has been a surge in the number of influencers who are hopping into this Tik-Tok bandwagon and the Doctor isn’t taking this in a very blissful way. In his tweet made on 13th February, he publicly requested other influencers to quit Tik Tok, thus expressing his disgust towards it, and we can’t blame him because, to be honest, few of them are quite cringy.

Few prominent steamers like Pokimane were into this and her videos blew up considerably.

“I’m not a supporter of putting out shit content just because. There are agencies out there, that really encourage their influences to do these types of things. They don’t recognize how some of these things can actually impact brands in a negative way. Particularly influencers and their brands. I feel like they pressure them just a little bit. And it’s just fucking pathetic!” said Dr Disrespect in his stream.

Ninja is one of such influencers to have turned to Tik Tok for additional content. While some community members found it hilarious, others weren’t particularly very supportive of his decision.

The application keeps on growing day by day and so does it’s userbase along with its haters. As long as the platform provides an enormous viewer base for content, celebrities are more likely to turn to it for further growth of their stature as a hypebeast.
