MPL adds WCC Rivals to its Cricket game collection ahead of IPL

2

Indiaโ€™s largest mobile gaming platform Mobile Premier League (MPL) has announced the integration of the World Cricket Championship Rivals game on its app. WCC Rivals will be available on MPLโ€™s Android and iOS platforms in the next 1-2 weeks.

WCC Rivals joins four other cricket and cricket prediction games on MPLโ€™s platform in the thick of the cricketing season, in the run-up to the much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. This addition makes MPL a one-stop-shop cricket gaming platform that gives users the chance to monetise their skills.

The game comes from Chennai-based Nextwave Multimedia, a renowned gaming and digital content developer, and is part of the immensely popular World Cricket Championship family. Nextwave claims to have over 100 million downloads across mobile platforms.

โ€œI am very excited and glad to introduce WCC Rivals to the MPL family. Our users have always loved our Cricket games and I am sure WCC Rivals will do great on MPL given its 1-on-1 gameplay. We now have a total of five Cricket games on the platform and they offer our users a variety of gameplays including Fantasy, Cricket predictions, and skill-based digital gaming. We thought this was the right time to expand our Cricket games collection given the Indian Teamโ€™s recent excellent show on the field, and in the days leading to the IPL,โ€ said Shubham Malhotra, Co-Founder, MPL.

โ€œCricket in the digital world goes much beyond just Fantasy. By getting one of the worldโ€™s biggest cricket games — WCC — we have given our users yet another skill-based game to monetise their cricket and gaming skills. As a platform, we are constantly adding games that our users want to experience,โ€ said Sai Srinivas Kiran, Co-Founder and CEO, MPL.

WCC Rivals allows gamers to take each other on (1-on-1) in batting and bowling innings with their customised squads. The game is known for its smooth gameplay and award-winning game engine.

โ€œWe are excited to bring WCC Rivals to the MPL platform. We hope to see even more excitement from WCC fans as they can now monetise their skills in the game,โ€ said PR Rajendran, Founder and CEO, Nextwave Multimedia.

MPL currently has more than 35 games on its platform and they range across sports and games like Cricket, Football, Basketball, Chess, Carrom, Pool, to Quizzing and skill-based casual games. The platform offers its 34 million registered users the opportunity to compete and monetise their skills across domains and genres.

Rainbow Six Siege: Guide to this emerging Esport title

Ubisoft Montrealโ€™s famous FPS title Tom Clancyโ€™s Rainbow Six Siege was released globally on various platforms like Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox one on 1st of December 2015.

Siege currently has more than 20 million players worldwide. It is an entry in the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six series and the successor to Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Patriots, a tactical shooter title. Announced at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2014, it received four nominations from Game Critics Awards. The game did receive an overall positive rating from the critics, with all of the praise mostly centered to the gameโ€™s tactical play and approach.

Rainbow Six Siege

Gameplay

This title heavily emphasizes on the horizontal and vertical style of plays where the players can resort to environmental destruction and it does require great co-ordination between them to plan and execute. Two types of teams known as Attackers and the defenders compete against each other to either defend or attack the sites and deny or to defuse the bomb respectively. You could also go for some other modes like rescuing the hostages and capturing a specific point on the map to gain access of the bio-hazard containers.

As a defender, it really does enable you to refer the camera footages to gain some intelligence on the proceedings of the attackers thus making their lives miserable by delaying their attack phase and making them run out of time. But as an attacker, you would have an equal chance of compromising the setups of the defenders by sending in your RC cameras enabled drones to locate the bomb sites, the defenders and the nature of their gadgets as well.

As most of the Esports Enthusiasts in India have been Valveโ€™s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, they might find this game a bit difficult to cope up with due to many factors. Before the start of every round, both the teams go through a preparation time where the defenders might put up their bulletproof cameras, set up traps, trip wires which detonate when an attacker sets his/her foot in its radius.

While on the other hand, the attackers will need to send in their drones to locate and build a strategy to set up a planned attack. Other FPS players may find it easy to win some Duels but not entirely successfully as this game is more based on tactical plays.

Operators

Before you start your match, you will be given a pool of players aka operators to attack/defend with. These operators vary and may act like counters against each other. All of them do have a specific exclusive gadget to give their team an edge. These gadgets can either prove to be unassailable or maybe up there for a shorter period of time but if used on the right time and in the right place, things might go haywire for both the sides eventually favoring any one of them.

Operators do have been defined by their Armor and speed. The ones with the heaviest armour will have a slow travel speed which could be a nightmare for them to rotate across the sites whereas, on the other hands, the operators with a weak and penetrable armour are prone to be killed in action but could escape as they can travel with a fast pace to escape. They can even customize their guns with different types of Grips such as the horizontals and verticals and even attaching them with either a compensator or suppressor and many more.

Format

Teams compete in the Six Invitational, an esports event of Rainbow Six Siege, at Place Bell in Laval on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020. (Morgane Mousse/courtesy Six Invitational)

In each match, multiple maps will be played. They might be Best of 5โ€™s or Best of 3โ€™s Typically, a whole match is a best of three, where if a team wins two they do move up.

Each map has multiple rounds, with teams alternating from attack and defense each round. The winning team is the first one to win five rounds, however, if the scores are tied at 4-4 then the match becomes the first to six also known as the Overtime method where some extra rounds would decide the fate of the two teams. Most Rainbow Six LAN events are a single-elimination bracket, meaning one loss and youโ€™re out.

Things to look out for:

Destruction

Siegeโ€™s most remarkable aspect in its game is that the line of sights can be opened up various mind games. Though they equally weigh their pros and cons, proper team co-ordination is what everyone should plan out when they do the practice. You can literally break up walls to make small passages for some quick rotations or provide your attacking teams to attack with some different newly created line of sights.

Team Chemistry

Team chemistry does have the largest impact in the game as it does provide you and your team to depend on each other and support likewise in some situations. For Eg : You might always suggest a player in your team to take up the DOC role as he/she can provide you with some medical surges when you are low on health after dealing a lot of damage.

Mind Games

When you refer a camera as a defender or send in your drones as an attacker to know about the activities in and around the site, you will have a chance to thoroughly mark the enemies and their approaches and know about the traps that defenders have set up respectively.

Rainbow Six Siege & Its Growth in India

As of now, the title is blooming across multiple states in India and we are glad to know that famous LAN Organizers like ILG and Elite group powered by Corsair and a plethora of sponsors have been scheduling some events for Six Siege in India with a whopping prize pool for the winner from the lionโ€™s share.

If you do feel this game is the perfect title for you and could totally make a career out of it, believe me, R6 Siege Esports is the best place where you could have your skillset to bloom in a fashionable manner.

As a Siege enthusiast, you might first start looking for a person who could coach you in the first place to help yourself know about some basics. You might be hesitant at first to consult a person for the same but believe me, a person who has the knowledge and knows about the inโ€™s and outโ€™s might be handy when youโ€™re trying to get the central idea about how you and your team would be performing on a mighty stage.

Secondly, the game does provide you with some situations where you have to breach in a particular map and kill all of those defenders holding some angles and edges. This could really help you to engage in some duels and let you carve a perfect aim to master the recoil patterns.

Then comes the map knowledge which could help you explore about every nook and corner of the map and let one have a central idea about the locations of certain cameras which could reveal you and your team and know about some rotations to defend or retake the sites more quickly and efficiently.

When youโ€™ve set up your mind to enter the Esports scene, you should always learn how to act like as an athlete and maintaining the integrity of the game by keeping your cool and always trying to learn new aspects about the game no matter what if you have already known the basics of the same.

When it comes to hiring a coach and a mentor for the team, these are absolutely two different roles as a mentor can help you cope up with your defeat which sometimes the coach wonโ€™t be able to do as he is the one handling the plethora of teamโ€™s strategies and making the team more tactical and efficient. Your team too could register for some local offline tournaments where you all can set up a show revealing the team chemistry and learning about the others about how much they have been putting in the game than you.

Steamโ€™s Google search description briefly changed to โ€œF*** Epic Games Storeโ€

0

Yesterday, for a brief moment the description of Steam Store when searching on Google read โ€œ F**K Epic Games Storeโ€. This rather unintentional change was caused by Googleโ€™s bot caching user reviews as a description for the Steam Store. Steam has a feature where it will feature most liked review of games on top and Googleโ€™s bot accidentally cached that review as store description.

The message only appeared as a description for users that searched for โ€œSteam Storeโ€ on Google, but simply typing โ€œSteamโ€ would display the regular description below the store page. The error was fixed momentarily after some players had found out about it and things started to get viral.

This text seemingly came from a review on Metro Exodus, a game which was Epic Games Store exclusive for a year and just launched on Steam after its exclusivity period ended. Since its launch, some users are giving game negative reviews with text-filled with capital letters and ASCII art of a middle finger to show their dissatisfaction against the developer and publishersโ€™ exclusivity deal with EGS.

Singapore gets Asiaโ€™s first 24×7 esports Training Facility

0

On Feb. 13, NEO TM, a Singapore based project management firm launched Asiaโ€™s first 24×7 Esports training facility named The Gym. The Gym will be located in Jalan Besar and operated under NEOโ€™s subsidiary, Esportscentre Pte Ltd.

The Gym is a three-story venue spanning more than 7,700 square ft. The Gym will encompass a training floor outfitted with Gaming PCs. This floor will also offer space for retail shops and will have an arena-style event space seating for up to 150 people with a booth for casters. The second and third floors will consist of modular training, office, and event spaces which members can rent to conduct business, live-stream sessions, and competitions.

The Gym hopes to serve as a point of call for promising esports teams, and will hopefully foster collaboration between local and international teams. It should help them share resources and level up together.

In a blog post, Mr Neo Yong Aik manager at NEO TM said:

With esports making its debut at last yearโ€™s SEA Games, there is little doubt that esports has become mainstream in this part of the world. There has never been a more powerful platform to engage the youth of Asia and the world. But while there are millions of young people playing on their mobile phones and PCs, what is lacking is a more professional approach to the sport. Instead of more LAN shops, we need more places that not only provide a place for individuals and teams to practice and compete but also for them to pick up the right habits that will stay with them as they pursue successful esports careers. Instead of focusing on just gaming, other aspects such as nutrition, physical fitness, and mental focus should also be honed.

We hope to bring all that with The Gym.

The Gym has also entered in partnership with De Tune, a US-based live broadcast media and event production agency that has worked with Riot Games and organized global Fortnite and PUBG global championships.

Seoul Dynasty to donate all of their homestand proceeds to coronavirus victims

3

South Korea based Overwatch organization Seoul Dynasty will donate the takings it gathers from merchandise sales, in-game skins, and its earnings from every home game for the month of March to aid the organizations helping people affected by coronavirus.

The number of deaths in mainland China rose above 2000 and passengers began leaving the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise ship. A total of around 75000 infections have been recorded in the country, most of them in Hubei province and its capital, Wuhan which is labeled as the epicenter of the outbreak.

โ€œAfter speaking with staff, players, and coaches, weโ€™ve decided that Gen.G and Seoul Dynasty will be donating 100 percent of the proceeds from our March Seoul Dynasty homestand, our merchandise sales from both Gen.G and Seoul Dynasty, as well as the in-game skin sales from Seoul Dynasty from today through the end of March to support charities that support victims of the coronavirus,โ€ said Gen.G COO Arnold Hur

The coronavirus outbreak has caused serious troubles to the Overwatch League, from games being postponed to organizations moving away from their bootcamp to ensure their safety. This outbreak has wreaked havoc in the lives of the Chinese people and many others across the globe, it makes us proud as Esports enthusiasts to see organizations coming forward to fight against this.

ESL announce โ€˜Louvre agreementโ€™ with 13 CSGO teams

ESL today on its twitter has announced a privileged deal where 13 teams are all set to bound with the event organizer under the newly formed โ€œLouvre Agreementโ€ These privileges would see these 13 teams grab long term slots in the ESL Pro League and in the ESL Pro League circuit as well.

The new agreement – informally dubbed โ€˜The Louvre Agreementโ€™ – was signed by Astralis, Complexity, Evil Geniuses, ENCE, FaZe Clan, Fnatic, G2 Esports, Mousesports, Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Liquid, Team Vitality, 100 Thieves and ESL following a meeting in Paris in January 2020.

Amidst of the FLASHPOINT operation organized by the leading third-party client FACEIT, ESL did ponder to build a strong alliance with 13 teams who are partnered under the Louvre Agreement. These teams alongside ESL and Dreamhack will be taking over reigns on the brand new ESL Pro League and the ESL Pro league circuit. These 13 Participants are assured of direct invites to ESLโ€™s Pro League gig thus granting them their own long term slots for the future. The Louvre agreement has completely redesigned the format of the Pro League where 11 teams would be joining these 13 partnered teams. In the upcoming season, a list of 11 teams have already been invited to the event but from Season 12 onwards we would see a plethora of changes to be bought in effect as the rest 11 teams would have to qualify for the Pro League via the ESL World Ranking or through the Mountain Dew League Qualifiers. Z

With the Louvre Agreement being implemented under immediate effect by ESL, the participating as well as the partnered teams would not only be getting long term slots for the future ESL events but they would be also bestowed upon with a healthy share of the revenues and profits from the events including marque tournaments such as IEM Katowice and ESL One Cologne. The statistics of the profits were previously leaked to be 21.25% of all gross revenue and 60% of profits in the first year, although the information is yet to be confirmed and re-validated by ESL.

16 teams qualified for PMCO India Finals 2020

0

24 Teams managed to book a berth in the Regional Semi-Finals which has concluded today. The top 16 teams will now move on to the PMCO 2020 Indian Regional Finals.

After 6 days of carnage-filled matches between the top 24 Indian PUBG Mobile squads and a complete whitewash of expectations and anticipations, Marcos Gaming, the underdogs from the group stage have positioned themselves at the number 1 spot with a brilliant 248 points total with 110 kills and 3 prestigious chicken dinners. Team Orange Rock, who has shown impeccable consistency since the group stage finished at the number 2 spot with 222 points, 81 kills, and 3 chicken dinners. 3rd place is taken by yet another unexpected roster who finished 10th in the group stage, who goes by the name of 7SeasEsports. They made a phenomenal statement at the semis bagging 2 chicken dinners and 82 kills giving them a total of 212 points.

We saw a complete roster shuffle at the semi-finals as fan favorites and PUBG Mobile’s biggest squads were put onto the back seat by the newcomers. Team Fnatic, who finished the group stage topping the table, now stands at the 8th spot. The biggest shock comes across with Team Mayhem, who managed to finish 3rd at the group stage but failed to come within the top 16 teams at the semis. This means that they do not qualify for the regional finals even after presenting par breaking gameplay in the group stage but losing it all in the semis.

Here are the top 16 teams qualifying for the Regional Finals:
