Battlegrounds Mobile India linked to PUBG Mobile

Krafton is currently in the process of launching Battlegrounds Mobile India in the country and since their flagship game, PUBG Mobile was banned in India, some speculations and reports suggested that a threat of ban on Battlegrounds Mobile India is looming on Krafton yet again. A report from IGN India draws parallels between the app package name of Battlegrounds Mobile India and PUBG Mobile and how it might affect the developers.

Battlegrounds Mobile India began its pre-registration process from today and an interesting reference to PUBG Mobile was found in the URL of the listing itself. The URL for the listing of Battlegrounds Mobile India is “https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pubg.imobile“. This link clearly contains the mention of “pubg.imobile” while Krafton is trying to advertise this game as a completely new entity.

Krafton faced some roadblocks after the announcement of PUBG Mobile India and they had to wait for few months before getting approvals and then, they came up with an entirely new title ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’. This game is just a localized version of PUBG Mobile in India but Krafton reportedly refrained from linking it with their flagship title.

The company presumably approached influential content creators and requested them to stop mentioning PUBG Mobile in their content. The authenticity of this information was never verified as Krafton did not exclusively state it in any announcement. After all of these efforts to set a new identity for Battlegrounds Mobile India, the developers have still preferred to use PUBG Mobile in the hyperlink to the pre-registration page on Google Play Store.

IGN India cross-verified this information with some developers who stated that it is known as ‘App Package Name’ and is used to “uniquely identify” a specific app. Krafton has preferred to use this package name as it greatly affects the SEO on Google Play Store searches and ranks their game on the top.

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is done to rank for specific keywords after a search query is made for it. Krafton is reportedly using the term “PUBG” to increase their search volume to rank for this keyword. This might be a big possibility as Battlegrounds Mobile India has been announced just a few days back and most of the population still knows it by PUBG Mobile India.

Overall, the reports just imply that Krafton is making abstract moves by mentioning PUBG Mobile in the pre-registration URL and yet abstaining to refer their new game by this old name. They might not be using the old name in fear of getting blocked once again but still preferred to take a bold step by mentioning PUBG Mobile in the URL.

Riot Games has issued a new notification in Valorant which reveals that the Agent Yoru has been disabled in-game. Yoru is taken down to “work on an issue” with no other clarification given yet. The prompt also informed that Breeze, the latest map in VALORANT is removed from competitive.

Valorant is still a relatively new title and there is a high chance that some bugs might slip past developers and make their way into the game with every new update. Riot Games frequently release new patches for Valorant and recently, Yoru was the latest addition to the game.

Yoru was added in January and quickly became a favourite agent for many due to his versatile kit which allows instant rotations, teleports and equips flashes as well. His ultimate ability even contains a short period of invulnerability. Some players experimented with his abilities and discovered some bugs.

Some of these bugs were very crucial which gained Yoru mains an unfair advantage if the opponents could not understand how to tackle it. Yoru could have been possibly taken down due to a recent game-breaking bug which allowed him to teleport into the pyramids in Breeze.

A video showcasing this bug was uploaded on YouTube and some even pointed out the fact that players can plant the Spike inside of the pyramids, making it almost impossible to retake the round. Riot has supposedly taken a note of this situation and removed Yoru as well as Breeze.

Currently, Breeze map is only unavailable in competitive or ranked mode but players can enjoy it in unranked and other modes. The reason for disabling Breeze is same as Yoru, where Riot Games has stated that it is taken down due to a bug. Yoru mains will have to wait for some time before playing their favourite agent in Valorant once again.

  • Visit the Battlegrounds Mobile game page on your mobile device by searching for the game on Google Play Store or simply by clicking here. 
  • After the page loads, scroll down and click “Pre-register”.
  • Now a dialogue box will appear, asking to automatically install the game when available. Click on install automatically if you want to install the game as soon as it’s available or simply tap on “OK”.
  • Now, check if the game page says “unregister” to confirm registration. You can also toggle between Automatic Install ON or OFF on the same page. 
  • Done! Now all you need to do is wait patiently for Krafton to release the game.

Ever since its establishment, 100 Thieves have garnered a reputation of signing top content creators presumably as a part of their business model. Being an organization that houses top content creators from YouTube and Twitch, TimTheTatMan’s signing will be anything but a surprise for the community.

Being without an organization for all these years, Tim was linked to a few top-tier organizations including the likes of FaZe Clan but as teased by the man himself, he might be on his way to NaDeSHoT‘s 100 Thieves.

“I have business in LA, alright?” Tim said on stream. “I can’t confirm or deny what it is. I have business in LA. I’m gonna be staying at the 100 Thieves house with the boys. “That’s the bottom line, okay? That may or may not have any correlation with me being in LA.” he added.

Tim’s streaming buddy CouRage, who also happens to be the co-owner of 100 Thieves added to those speculations putting out a thumbnail in one of his videos that served as a 100 Thieves. Though CouRage did confirm that if the negotiations are successful they might have something interesting to announce.

Being org-less for years may have kept Tim from several opportunities and given 100 Thieve’s reputation, the organization will offer him enough space to grow in the future.

Launched in 2011, Twitch was known as Justin.tv before being acquired by Amazon and rebranded in August 2014 to the name it is currently known as. With ~9 million users every month, Twitch has cemented itself as a powerhouse in the streaming community and continues growing exponentially worldwide, the live-streaming service recently added servers in countries like India to accommodate its growing user base.

On May 17, the Amazon-owned company announced a huge change for its users outside the US, the Twitch Prime subscription which starts from USD $4.99 for Tier 1, will cost even less starting with Mexico and Turkey on May 20. Twitch Prime subscribers are entitled to multiple perks ranging from custom chat emotes to exclusive chat rooms, Prime members can also subscribe to only one of their favorite streamers a month where they will receive 50% of the total subscription fee.

While these lower prices mean that streamers will earn less per subscription, they might lead to more subscribers and as a result, more earnings in the long term. Twitch believes that “creators will benefit from the price reduction in the long-term as subscriptions become more affordable for viewers around the world.” They also plan to help stabilize streamer revenue as more regions are introduced to the new pricing system.

According to Twitch’s blog post,

We’re confident lower sub prices will boost creator growth and revenue in the long term, but we knew we also had to minimize potential dips in creator revenue during this early adjustment period. To help creators adapt to the new pricing model with no impact on their short-term subscription revenue, we’re launching a 12-month program that guarantees a certain level of revenue for eligible creators.

Regions such as Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe will be seeing the new prices starting in Q3 2021.

Valorant Pro Sinatraa suspended for 6 months

Sentinels’ vital player Jay “Sinatraa” Won has officially been suspended by Riot Games for six months for failing to fully cooperate with the investigation.

The former Overwatch League MVP turned leading Sentinels Valorant star Sinatraa has been under Riot Games’ scrutiny since March of 2021. The developer has finally shared updates regarding the investigation and has revealed that Sinatraa will be barred from professional games till September.

“The Competitive Operations team had serious concerns with Sinatraa’s conduct during the course of the investigation. It was determined that on at least two occasions Sinatraa misrepresented certain facts, made false statements, and did not cooperate with the investigation-” The ruling read.

The official release cited a lack of proper coordination in the investigation to be the cause of suspension and not the result of an ongoing inquiry.

According to the release, the pro player misrepresented information and failed to coordinate with the tournament organizer. These breaches Rule 8.1 of the Valorant global competition policy, which states as follows.

"Team Members have a duty to tell the truth in connection with any investigation conducted by or for the Tournament Operator and have a further duty not to obstruct any such investigation, mislead investigators or withhold evidence."

The ruling refers to Sinatraa’s failure to share sex tapes with alleged sexual abuse. Cleo had shared a snippet of audio recording in which Sinatraa could easily be heard forcing himself on his ex-girlfriend.

However, the pro player had earlier claimed that he’d share the full recording during the investigation, but the video clip referenced in the original post was “never fulfilled.”

The investigation has by no means come to an end. Still, insufficient coordination will see Sinatraa out of the pro scene for six months while he undergoes professional conduct and professional conduct training. While the results of this inquiry remain uncertain, the police investigations related to the allegations will likely continue.

He will return on Sept. 10, 2021, in time to partake in Last Chance Qualifiers and Champions.

Sinatraa Valorant ban explained

The professional player had serious accusations of sexual and mental abuse levied against him by ex-girlfriend Cleo in March that saw him suspended from Valorant Champions Tour and Sentinels. It is the second most expensive weapon on Valorant’s market loadout after the Operator which is priced at 5000 credits. Odin does have the capacity to penetrate walls due to its high magazine size and fire rate.
